Argent Princess It's a bright and sunny winter's day, and Argent Princess finds herself tucked beneath a tree, legs tucked demurely at her side and leaning back against the silvery trunk, seeming to blend in with her clothes and pale features so that she's unobtrusive to all the passerby going about whatever business they have.

Scowling down at her hands, a tangled criss-cross and multi-colored threads are pulled taut between her tiny manicured hands, and she seems concerned with what she sees there, her silvery painted lips pursed tight as she murmurs to herself soundlessly.

Spring Wind First the sound of lighter footwear heading off the street towards Princess, then a shadow between herself and the sun as Spring stands over her. "Having trouble?" she asks, though her tone is one of legitimate curiosity and not of disdain or mockery.
Argent Princess Argent Princess takes a moment before she lifts her sleepy afternoon gaze up to the shadow blocking the light, not seeming perturbed or intruded so much as simply confused by the unexpected sound.

She takes a moment as if to replay what was said, then dazzles with a reassuring smile. She searches the figure's features for a few moments, though her gaze seems to pick strange places to linger, as if no particular feature, facial features or otherwise, had any greater significance than the others.

"There's something stuck here." She says, as if that was enough to make a sensible answer, making the threads twang softly as she loosens her grip and tightens it again, looking down at her hands, then past the woman as if to see if she were alone. "It's not you, is it?" She asks, though this almost sounds like a joke?

Spring Wind "Back down south, I think they'd ask you if you had spent too long in the sun." Spring says, "I'm not sure how I could be there, I'm standing right in front of you." she says, smiling. "I'm Spring... Though really, I guess it's not so important. Most people aren't very special, but meaningful is another matter entirely."
Argent Princess Argent Princess glances vaguely southward, but all that's there is a wall and a winter-bare hedge. She tilts her head as if it what she sees has some valid interjection into the conversation before smiling politely and returning her gaze to Spring.

The tiny woman elegantly rises to her feet and holds her hands towards the other. "Touch a string?" She offers, rather than demands. "I try to stay out of the sun, it wreaks havoc on a lady's complexion." She adds in reassurance.

Spring Wind Nodding, Spring reaches out and lightly taps one of the strings. She doesn't seem to hesitate, if she feels unease or deliberation it's not obvious. "Is this a sort of divination thing or?.." she asks, her voice trailing off at the end of the sentence.
Argent Princess Argent Princess traces the touched string visually to the nearest finger, and slips that one free, pulling the strings taut again as the whole webwork settles into a new configuration, perhaps moreso different than expected.

"Oh." She says, in a softly musical voice, then squints a little to add another softer. "Oh.." She runs her tongue against the back of her teeth and slackens her fingers so the whole thing comes undone, a long length of rainbow thread strung together. "Just a children's toy, I think. But you never know." She shifts her stance just slightly as she tucks the string away in her Kimono. She seems satisfied nonetheless.

"I am called Princess." She offers, dipping herh ead graciously, "Argent Princess." She adds, as if the weight of not uttering the whole of it crumbled after a moment of endurance. She smiles a little as if acknowledging the ostentation.

Spring Wind "Oh, heh." Spring says, looking a little embarrassed. "I suppose if you want a full two-word name, 'Spring Wind' would be more accurate. No family name, I'm not terribly high-class. You seem kinda... Out and about for someone I'd almost expect to be in a mansion or something. Not that I think you're necessarily a literal princess, but you don't look common either."
Argent Princess Argent Princess attempts to put Spring at ease with a gentle silvery laugh and a relaxation of her formal posture, but the truth of her words are fairly self evident.

"No, no. Of course not a literal princess. Some names have a way of becoming more true to heart, washing away older ones." She shrugs elegantly, and tousles a hand through her curls as she considers. "I am a Sorceress." She confides, as if that explains the rest.

Spring Wind "Well, yes. However..." Spring Wind says, "Sorcery comes in a lot of different varieties, working with elementals to seeing the shape of the world in the patterns of wood... Even receiving tutelage from something that doesn't really fit any traditional titles or types." she says, listing the items off on her fingers. "In some ways, that raises more questions than it answers."
Argent Princess Argent Princess nods along wisely to that, though presses her lips together softly in a bow as she seems to refrain from comment for a moment.

"Just so, as the say. The best lie raises far fewer questions than the best of truths." She gently drums her long silvery fingernails against her delicate chin. "What sort of work do you do?" She wonders, her gaze seeming a touch to vapidly glazed over to really answer herself as she peers for obvious hints.

Spring Wind "Physical labor. Hauling crates, moving materials, courier work too. Whatever I can find, it usually makes ends meet." Spring says, "It's not easy all the time, but it feels like... Work. I don't think I'd be able to accept working for a magistrate or something. Too much sitting, not enough pushing myself." she notes.
Argent Princess Argent Princess exhales a soft "Oh." at that, as if that were the last answer she expected. She glances down at her tiny pampered hands with a soft smile and inhales softly.

"Has the work been good lately? I have heard there was some conscription going on, and rumors of a possible conflict brewing in the east. Some local businesses shuttered. Strange to think that turmoil in the Hundred Kingdoms would reach so far." She muses to herself.

Spring Wind "Hundred Kingdoms is whozawha-?" Spring Wind says, "I mean they're always shifting, the borders never really stay set for long. It's why they call it the Hundred Kingdoms." she adds, "Or did something sufficiently nasty decide to cut a bloody path through the region?" she asks.
Argent Princess Argent Princess purses her silvery-pink lips and looks thoughtful for a time.

"I wish I knew, truly. I'm planning to travel that way soon myself, so I suppose I may well learn." She yawns softly and stretches an arm behind her head, giving a soft tug on a large hairbow as she gives Spring curious look. "I would be careful, either way. Reward enough for stopping to visit. Things are strange here. Strings of influence stretch and tangle across the lands. You never know what you can end up tied up in." She smiles with unironic mystery at that.

Spring Wind "The world's music ever plays, a harmony we only understand when recounted over the years." Spring says, her gaze shifting into the distance. "Event to event..." then shifts her gaze back quickly towards Argent with a shrug. "Nobody knows, really. Part of what makes life fun!" and grins. "The unknown is either scary or amazing, all depends on what you choose it to be."
Argent Princess Argent Princess narrows her sleepy eyes as she considers, long dense lashes batting slowly as she leans back against the tree becoming much more unobtrusive.

"Fun..." She repeats, as if that were her major takeaway. "Yes, they need more fun." She agrees, fishing back into her Kimono for the string. "I don't suppose you know any toymakers? Or craftspeople?" She asks, her first hint of excitement showing, rousing her from her usual drowsy demeanor.

Spring Wind "Seems I've set off a particular trail in your mind. I'm curious as to where it taks you." Spring says, "...Though it very much depends on which skillsets you want. I prefer you give your coin to those of skill over those of means. Prosperity doesn't walk hand-in-hand with fairness after all."
Argent Princess Argent Princess blinks as if unable to decipher that statement. She gently pushes off the tree and takes a few steps, gliding elegantly towards the path running along the edge of the temple garden she tucked herself into.

"I am sure I will find who I am meant to. Means or ways or coin or kindness aside." She brushes a hand against Spring's arm as she passes and murmurs a thanks. "So pleasant to meet you." She says earnestly. Her geta seem strangely silent as she walks onto the stone of the path, her steps so measured and careful and light.
