Drifting Petal The sun bears down on the Western Quarter, His undaunted majesty high in the sky and lighting all of Creation with darkness-banishing rays of authority. It is beneath the life-giving sun that Sun-and-Moon pair find themselves once more, weaving crowds and perusing stands. More importantly, though, the pair finds themselves in a clothing shop, amidst rows and racks of fabrics and colors.

"What's wrong with what I'm wearin'?" asks Petal, oblivious to the holes torn in her patched clothes, the caked-on-grime, and the smooth cuts that could only be made by bladed weapons. "Been wearin' these since we got here."

Argent Princess Argent Princess radiates composure, and somehow manages to look both critical and affectionate as she slips her entire hand through a slash in Petal's kimono and gently scratches her ribs with the tips of her long fingernails.

"If it wasn't for all the stains and fraying and patching and slashes and wear and tear, I would say nothing at all, my love." She murmurs as she uses a prickle of her fingernails to draw Petal closer to a back corner, where all the most chaotically mismatched bits of Kimono and repaired garments are stacked. Princess seems to know already how to pick her battles as grudgingly feels the fabric of the most garish spring-onion green and orange Kimono folded up before her.

Drifting Petal Drifting Petal giggles as she's poked and scraped and pinched, but she doesn't fight being moved around the shop. If anything, she seems like she's enjoying herself, albeit sardonically. She seems to brighten up at the garish fabric, though, her eyes lighting up as she starts picking up various kimono, yukata, and traveling robes, then not folding them whenever she sets them back down. "Ohhh! This one's so bright! I haven't found one that's this color yet!"

Her shouting seems to draw attention from other clients - some leave the shop over it, while others glare sidelong at the pair. Still others seem to try and get a better angle on the two... make a SENSES check (Perception + Awareness).

Argent Princess Argent Princess seems relieved that Petal is playing along even this much, and does not do much to contain her chaos, seeming to gauge her excitement over a few pieces here and there and carefully fold them up and set them aside for future consideration. Her own attention gets caught up in a shimmery blue silk Yukata, tucked underneath a stack of far less fine garments, she peers down at her own Kimono and seems to consider it for a time, hiding a blush as she covers it as if putting it from her mind.

Catching back up to Petal she pushes a few things into her arms and smiles approvingly up to her. "These are all wonderful choices." She praises, as if they were carefully curated choices Petal had made. She does not notice the commotion at all, caught up in the duality of Petal and her own world. Even the consternation of the shopkeeper is beyond her, but perhaps it helps that Princess is the kind of woman a shopkeeper would tolerate to the point of calamity.

Drifting Petal Drifting Petal seems enamored with what are possibly the worst colors to wear: eye-bleedingly bright yellows, deep purples, and fiery oranges. Eventually, she does manage to pick out a cheap robe similar enough to her current one, a nice yellow, though an orange border creates a pleasant enough effect despite the coloration. It seems to have a pattern of blowing wind, and she hands it to Princess, eyes pleading like a child. "This one? This one, please? I'll get whatever else you want! I just really like it!" she declares, then leans in close.

Her voice drops to a whisper, as she makes it look as though she's hugging Princess to try and cajole her into acquiescing. "Don't turn around. Act normal. I saw them, too - we'll deal with it."

Argent Princess Argent Princess stifles a private sort of girlish giggle, her eyes seeming wide and filled with delight as Petal excitedly pleads in a manner that obviously melts her tiny heart.

"Of course you can have it, it's perfect." She murmurs, suddenly flushing and looking shy as Petal leans in, making her purse her silvery-pink lips and press onto the toes of her geta for a moment expectantly. The words make her sleepy eyes blink and she absolutely stops acting normal for at least a second, looking embarrassed and shy as she folds up what they have dutifully into a stack. "Some tabi too?" She says, trying to glance sideways without moving.

Drifting Petal Drifting Petal notices that, too! As she pulls back she gives Princess a quick peck on the lips, though one eye stays open, watching the men watching her as they slip outside. She nods, snatching up some socks the color of radishes, holding them up in front of Princess.

"I dunno what tabi are, but I'm gonna need socks." she declares, beaming happily. Even holding that color of sock near the kimono she's chosen seems to cause reality itself intense pain. It is, absolutely, without question, the wrong color.

Argent Princess Argent Princess looks like she might have forgotten the warning after that quick little kiss, and she smile blissfully and can't even seem to muster an objection at the idea of radish colored Tabi... Who had ever even heard of such a thing? It is as if Petal possesses some power to pull impossible color configurations into being via sheer force of will. She almost clumsily grasps for a black and a blue pair as well, tiny delicate fingers shying instinctively away from the far more prolific white pairs, adding them to the pile, no doubt to find their way to the bottom of Petal's pack never to be seen again.

She looks rather triumphant to have gotten such a large pile of clothing into Petal's arms, meager as it is, and the gently cooing encouragement and fawning over her every choice seems as much to keep the whole affair progressing as out of any true love of her fashion sense. Princess corners the overwrought shopkeeper, attempting to overpay him for the hassle and the bits of near-unsellable merchandise, but something in the interaction seems to fall apart when so overwhelmed he is that he fails to properly fleece her despite her naivety. "Are you ready go go?" She asks, tucking he coinpurse back away as she glides back over to Petal beaming.
