Amethyst If not for the striking, vibrant blues and greens, the little shop wouldn't stand out nearly so much. It looks like it was, and probably still is, a residence of someone. But whoever owns the shop did a lot to try to make the outside pop. Whether or not she had much artistic sense? That's to be said. There's a faint glow behind curtained windows, of various colors and hues. Clearly some sort of stuff is happening inside of the little shop. Is it even still open? And does it inhabitant even know what sleep is?
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden In the woods well out from Great Forks, a moderate distance from that shop, Socket had decided it is another good opportunity, a nice evening where she thinks she's managed to be far from anyone, and so a nice opportunity to perform another ritual, brewing and mixing and shaping the essence as she reforms it in a careful ritual, as she reshapes the flows of Essence in Creation to enable the formation of a portal, culminating at midnight as the world seems to tear through and then a horrible eight-legged creature crawls through with enormous fangs dripping with venom as it shrieks and Socket focuses that flow of Essence further to take control over the Demon she has just brought forth, "Oh, no. You're going to weave Silk for me" she tells it, glaring at it as she pushes her will onto it.
Hoarfrost Business in Great Forks accomplished Hoarfrost makes her way from the city looking very tired. Its not the late hour, or the work, but the sheer amount of people in that town is simply exhausting. Pausing in her walk she takes a moment to access her surroundings. Noticing the sign of the alchemist she thumbs at the few spare bits of jade in her pocket. Seeing the light on she is tempted by the thought. With a shrug of curiosity she checks the door to see if the shop is still open.
Amethyst The door is locked, but there's a soft, "Coming!" from inside. Hopefully this time it's something real. It's a sound of a few different locks being opened, before finally the door opens and this little figure stands looking up at Forst. "Hello! Can I help you?" There's this little red... is it a ring? Whatever it is, it's steadily hovering around her right arm.
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Socket focuses her will upon the spidery demon she has summoned, willing it into her service and shaping metaphorical chains of essence that grant her control over the creature, "Spin silk for me and stay hidden. I want enough hell-silk to cover me, my horse, and to build a fort in the trees of it and you will keep spinning it and remaining hidden from others until we have completed those items or I send you away." She calls at it in Old Realm, as her forehead lights, shining a bright golden light and she smiles as she watches the horrifying hellspider with the black ichor dripping from it start to move nearby and work at spinning its hellsilk. She watches the spider, then sighs, realizing just how slow that is going to be. She then realizes that she's not entirely practiced with... weaving that into things, and so she takes a small length and says, "I'm going to go into the city, to see if this task may be swiftened and you can be sent back to hell sooner." She nods to the spider as it works, "You can disappear while I'm off and rest" she climbs onto her statue of a horse, which then proceeds to trot on back towards Great Forks.
Hoarfrost The quick answer to her shot turning at the handle has the albino witch jump with surprise. Not really expecting the shop to be open at all. Some part of her wanting to run then and there she ends up looking like a deer in the headlights when the door finally does open. "I-ah" nerves increasing as she takes a step back. "S-sorry I hope its not a bother would you have a glue suitable for book binding?"
Amethyst Amethyst's ears were perked up, but then they droop. "Uh," Amethyst is taken aback. She doesn't mean to scare potential customers! She breaths and calms a little. "Apologies, I didn't mean to frighten. I don't get very many customers out here, that's all. I've gotten all manners of glue, and this one wood glue is good for books and for keeping wood frames together." She stands there awkwardly, trying /not/ to look like the weird alchemist-sorceress that she is. Maybe it'd be best to /not/ answer the door so quickly, past midnight, going forward.
Hoarfrost The pale look of the guest seems to be natural and not from fright at least. Taking a deep breath and tentatively stepping back to the door. "It has been a long day, my apologies." Brushing her long white hair out of her eyes "That is wonderful how much would such a thing run I'm afraid I don't have much jade." A hand still on her purse mindful of how little it ways.
Amethyst "Hmm. I take other sorts of trades if you don't have the cash." Amethyst says, maybe she senses some sort of opportunity? Surely an individual who comes here past midnight, asking for glue, of all things, has something peculiar about them. "What would you offer me?" Her ears middle out, curiously looking over the pale guest.
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Heading on back towards civilization in the form of Great Forks, Socket is somewhat surprised to find the little building lit up as she approaches that shop, while it has been a bit of time since she had summoned the demon, no longer lighting the way along the road, she assumes it's no longer visible but the faintest glow from her forehad shows it hasn't quite entirely finished going out and it isn't helped by the gold horse statue she dismounts in front of the shop, hearing voices inside, she decides to take a look for herself.
Hoarfrost "I am no alchemist but I'm well versed in medicine, and making herbal remedies." Cheering up a fair bit at the idea of a trade. Pulling out a ragged book from her side bag, the ratty tomb makes it clear why she might need some book glue "I also am a well versed in the occult if you have had any trouble with the little gods or other local spirits. Is there something in particular your-" pausing in her bartering a the sound of approaching hooves. Looking rather spooked again. The glowing forehead not particularly hard to spot in the dark and near the reflective golden animal. "May haps I came at the wrong time?"
Amethyst "Fittingly, I am no physician but I am well versed in alchemy. And I'd welcome study from a fellow occultist." She smiles, but her ears says it's not the sort of help she was hoping to find. And then there's the golden hourse and the slightly glowing Socket. "Uh hum." She shrugs, and looks a little tense. "Maybe I should be open at midnight more often..." She isn't exactly sure what that is that's approaching her and Forst, but subtly that red circular tube around her arm starts to stretch, and it's not much a ring at all. It's a liquid, just held in a more innoculus shape. It becomes more of a lace, or a lash, wrapping around her arm, and finally coming to rest in her hand.
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Looking into the store Socket seems a little confused. Her head isn't putting off little enough light that it's illuminating things that reflect back to her, just a soft sort of glow-in-the-dark gold as her anima has not quite dimmed to its normal invisibility, for someone watching for it and with her having come right over after the summoning there are also strange flows of essence all about her from her recent work of sorcery making her quite the very strange and confusing and probably just a hallucination sight to someone who makes use of bright morning. She smiles, "Oh! Alchemical supplies! Do you have some Silphium extract?"
Hoarfrost "Funny I was just thinking I should avoid shopping after dark." Despite how timid she has been she is not fleeing from the supernatural being in front of her. She does how ever move to let Amethyst take the lead once she notices the strange lance like object. "I take it strangers on golden horses do not often make their way to your shop then?" almost more curious about it than the stranger riding It. Something about it seems vaguely familiar. Trying her best to stay out of the light from the door to the shop and not be noticed.
Amethyst Amethyst gives the strange sort before her a look over, and gladly steps out, with Frost and her shop behind her, and with Amethyst standing between them and Socket. "I don't get too many golden horses out here, no. So that's actually real?" She shakes her head, and then there's the question of Silphium. "Uh. If I did I would be a lot more wealthier. The last time it was seen was in the southeast, hundreds of years ago. But I might have something- What in Creation do you want with it anyway?" Amethyst's ears are back and she's a little bit tensed up.
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden "Oh." Socket slumps a little, feeling all the more how very out of place she does... often feel around here. She sighs, and then she looks back around, "I really should do something more about that. That Caparison really just isn't cutting it is it?" She says with a little sigh following. "Mmm, I was going to make things with it. I know... a few... hundred recipes that call for it. But I suppose that's just more... useless information now..." She shakes her head. Those who are a bit more observant or at least less seeing things other than what's there may notice her right hand is somewhat golden, too, and she's holding some stange silk in it.
Hoarfrost Hoarfrost says, "At least a thousand years." The small witch speaks up compelled by a curiosity that is making it hard for her to entirely hide at the moment. "It was over harvested into extinction by the Shogunate I believe." Its said with a cold tone that might be lost in her otherwise soft spoken voice. "The better question perhaps to be asked is why someone who can afford a horse and an arm of gold be without retainers or retinue of any kind?" glancing up and around the side quickly to make sure they where not suddenly surrounded."
Amethyst Amethyst's tension is well justified. She misses having a retinue. She steps just a little bit closer to Frost who seems to have like-minded thoughts. Yet, she doesn't unfurl whatever this thing is around her arm. She just leaves it there, ready, but not threatening. She ignores the spirit she sees, either hallucination or not a problem for her as of yet. Amethyst's deep purple eyes catching just a flashing sliver of moonlight, betraying her intensity. "Just who and what are you?"
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Socket looks disappointed at Hoarfrost, "Oh. Well, that's... fine. I guess. Um... it's apparently not even a very good means of transportation, I get sort of harassed about it everywhere I go, was going to have it stay outside of town, but... well, this place was unexpected and interesting to visit." She sighs, and then says, "And... I needed a hand... would have been very unfortunate not to ahve one..." She pauses, "I'm..." she then switches to Old Realm, and says <First Socket of the Heavenly Garden> then back into Riverspeech says, "But usually just call me Socket, it's shorter and gets me less funny looks. But since you two are already full of those, seemed like I should just introduce myself properly. And... who are you?"
Hoarfrost The witch looks like she has allot to say about something but is doing her gosh darn'est to keep her it to herself. Instead trying not to stare at the life-like horse that is standing right in front of her. Something about it just makes her antsy. "Hoarfrost Rent from Morning's Dew, I'm a traveling healer, occultist, and I've extensive knowledge of beast lore." Feeling it only right to return the favor of explaining who she is to the group. "Hoarfrost works fine enough unless your feeling overly formal. My friends just call me Frosty. Your old realm is very good Ms. Socket"
Amethyst <I'm Yim Amethyst, Blood Sorceress and Alchemist> She responds /also/ in old realm, but of a slightly different dialect. "But I don't call myself that. I just call myself Amethyst. I've studied many a text on many things, but especially Alchemy and various occult topics. And recently I've added sorcery to my studies. Have you ever worked through the fascinating process of 'Well, if I want extra arms, how do I do that?'" For a moment, Amethyst seems to be staring at... something neither of them can see, then she turns her attention back to Frost. "It is well to meet you, Hoarfrost. And you too, " again with the old realm, <First Socket of the Heavenly Garden> She smiles just a little bit satisified with herself.
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Socket brightens in response to that last comment in particular from Frosty, and responds in more Old Realm, <Oh! Thank you! You speak it? It's good to get to use it again instead. Haven't found many people I could properly talk to!> She looks even more excited to hear from Amethyst. It sounds perhaps all the more natural, the accent in her riverspeech seeming to come more from Old Realm than from the shape of forestspeech or flametongue or one of the realmlanguages. She smiles gently, "Um... well, I've just got the two arms, and only barely even that many, so that's its own... thing. Oh, um... Socket's fine, really.> She looks a little curiously to see what Amethyst was looking at anyway.
Hoarfrost "" She says simply and clearly in Old Realm. Surprised that of all the few people that can still speak the language three have managed to find themselves together on a midnight supply run to the chemist. "<My teacher always told me not to speak it. Useful for old texts it might get you mistaken for Anathema or mad god.>" she seems a little uncomfortable speaking it herself, her own accent clearly divergent from her natural river speak but still speaks it crystal clear. "It is a pleasure to meet you both. It is rare I get to talk with my peers in the Occult. Maybe we shouldn't do so on an open street?"
Amethyst "<It's an interesting tongue. I like speaking it.>" Amethyst grin, ears perked up. "" Amethyst's tone is much more dynamic, like the evershifting nature of the wyld, or the flowing water of the seas. "<And please, come in. Before we attract any more notice.>"
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Socket smiles and laughs, then says, <Well, hopefully not everything I'd be looking for has been extinct, certainly some good things in there> she answers, then smiles, <It's nice to meet both of you and to get to talk to you> she steps inside to get some alchemical reagents for future use.
