Misa A city as rich as Great Forks provides no end of possible targets for a discerning thief of one form or another. An upper-class home on a street away from the bustle of the city's attractions is quite empty at this moment- the family and all their assistants and associates taking an extended leave of absence to visit a second home further out from the city. They were quite discreet about the whole affair, even maintaining token guards outside- but no matter for a sufficiently informed and capable intruder.

One such intruder bypassed the guards entirely- getting a top the house somehow and climbing down to a window, which she then managed to unlock and open with nary a scratch. The red-haired woman is inside the home now- a bag of the takings resting on the floor next to a chair. The items are individually wrapped in cloth to minimize the noise of them in the bag, the items one and all small but valuable, a fruitful take but not enough to cause grand alarm and trouble for the whole of the criminal element of the city.

The woman herself sits in the aforementioned chair, leaned forward with her arms resting on her legs as she stares at a painting- a great, wide affair claiming to depict the glories of Heaven itself, taking up much of the wall of the spacious room.

Gloaming Starlight Another woman has decided to rob this particular home today. At times she's one with a somewhat keen sense of justice, even if at other times her moral compass leads her a bit more astray, and the confluence of those two tendencies is why she has decided to come back: She's moral enough to have found something about the house's owner reprehensible, but not so much that she's above taking some variety of petty revenge. Even if it's just making some things go missing

That's the story behind how a dark skinned, dark haired woman with bright blue, almost silver eyes comes around the corner into the room with the other thief, currently lounging in a chair. The newcomer is eating an apple stolen from the larder, and when she enters and spots the stranger she stops chewing mid-crunch and stares for a moment before flashing a bright, brilliant smile. "What have we here?" she asks, mirth rather than anger or outrage in her voice.

Misa While it's a subtle gesture, a savvy eye will notice that when Tansu moves her arms, shifting them back to rest on the chair behind her- it puts her in a perfect position for a swift draw of weapons and to spring up if need be. No sense not being cautious. When she speaks her voice is quiet, almost too quiet to hear really, even in the silent house.

"... If I'm not wrong. A case of unfortunately aligned purposes."

Gloaming Starlight In contrast, Gloaming Starlight doesn't seem to be carrying weapons. She's dressed in fine riding clothes, like a merchant who prefers to sit her own saddle instead of riding in a carriage, with colorful silks of fine quality, but practical at the same time. She does not, in short, look like someone who was out to rob a wealthy person's home, but she also doesn't look like she belongs there.

"Ah, well, whether or not it's unfortunate remains to be seen," she says in a conversational tone, still smiling, before taking another crunching bite of her apple and coming further into the room to look over the various goods. "What did he do to you?" she asks. "Or was it the lady of the house? Not that it matters one way or the other, I'm just curious. It's how he treats his horses, for me."

Misa "... I don't know. Does it matter? They'll have plenty left to go about this charade," answers Tansu with a remarkable bluntness for someone otherwise so withdrawn. She moves to her feet in a slow, smooth motion. She's been around enough combat to not trust the lack of visible weapons. She shifts to the right, standing in front of the bag she has gathered as well. Another thief or a guard or whatever this other person might be, she's tense.

"If you have some personal grudge to pursue, I would rather you let me exit before you set the place ablaze," she adds, almost a little drlyly.

Gloaming Starlight "You don't know?" Starlight asks, turning to look at the stranger with a bemused expression on her face. "You just came and robbed the place on a whim?" She pauses and considers that for a second, then she shrugs and admits, "I guess there's nothing wrong with that. It's not like you're robbing people who can't afford to lose a few things."

She flashes a grin then, and pulls back one of the loose folds of her jacket to show that, tucked into her belt, she has a bunch of gloves. "I'm not burning the place down or anything, just making a nuissance of myself. It's all of the right hand ones. I also put holes in all the boots, removed all the laces from various garments, and other acts of petty sabotage. I'm just trying to decide if there's anything else I should do on my way out." She wrinkles her nose with a soft sniff. "If I burned the place down, that would hurt all the poor saps who work for this family that would be put out of jobs."

Misa Taking a moment to consider the actions, Tansu shrugs- alright, it's essentially a glorified prank. Seems fine. She relaxes- just slightly. Slightly. She straightens up a little with it, and looks to the side. "Well, if that's all. Carry on, I suppose. You might want to consider picking a utensil and taking the copies of it from their no-doubt painstakingly matched set," she suggests, mildly and quietly.

"Anyways. Yes. SOme of us are trying to figure out a way to get by. Great Forks has the trinkets to spare, I figure."

Gloaming Starlight Starlight gives that a few moments of pensive thought, running through the possibilities, before she shakes her head. "Nah," she says after a moment. "If I try to walk out of here with a bag full of utensils, it will probably be pretty jingly. And heavy," she adds after a moment. "You've got the spirit of it down pretty well, though."

She turns to look at a trinket on a nearby shelf. "You know, thieving is probably not the best way to get by. It works in the short term, but... well, how many old thieves have you met in your life? Eventually, just about everybody gets caught." Coming from someone who broke in here herself...

Misa "Perhaps them not getting caught is why you met them," returns Tansu, a faint smirk playing about her lips now. A little bit of relaxing, at least. She leans down a moment, lifting her own sack without a sound. "Cloth wrappings, by the way. Helps to come prepared if you're planning on doing things right." She swings the bag up onto her shoulder, pensive. Might have to change up the disguise style after this- but then, building the mystique of the persona might not be a terrible idea.
Gloaming Starlight "Could be," Starlight admits with a shrug. "But there's a reason it's just a side gig for me, and that I'm only taking things that are pretty instead of valuable. Risky lines of work tend to lead to short lives for most of the people who undertake them."

"Anyway," she goes on, brushing the other topic off. "I didn't bother with cloth wrappings because I didn't plan to take anything out of here that might need it. As it stands right now, if I got caught I could probably just talk my way out of the situation, convincing anyone involved that I wasn't up to anything nefarious. Not that I plan to get caught." She glances around. "Speaking of, maybe it would be a good idea to start making my way out."

Misa "You are welome to go when you like," says Tansu, head shaking as she starts moving for one of the hallways. "I have my own way out." Cat burglar indeed, given there's no way downstairs in the direction she's moving in. Probably a window somewhere, though.
Gloaming Starlight "Well, good luck!" Starlight says, lifting a hand to give a quick wave before she turns back to the shelf with the trinket she had been looking at, a figurine of a man holding a sword aloft. After a moment to consider it, she picks the figurine up, skewers her apple core on the sword, and then puts it back on the shelf before she heads toward the stairs.
