Amethyst It started as a circle with various runes and things, complete with an alchemical mixture. But as time went on, Amethyst increasingly realized that a lot of these signs were just duplicates of the magic woven into her tattoos. And then she realized, "So, I can just place these on myself once we're done, and I'll have the ability wherever I go." Unfortunately, she doesn't have the tools to actually give herself tattoos, the most she can do is just ink herself. And so, titled 'the Memories on the Horizon', it's powers fit neatly into Amethyst's existing mechanisms, and since it needs to go on her upper arm and she can't exactly reach that too easily, she's asked Frosty to help her finish it.

And so this is where they are, sitting in the same room as many times before, the smell of the dark ink strong in the air. "I'll need to get these touched up every so often, but this ink is fairly long lasting. It'll do until I can get this working properly woven into my existing tattoos." Amethyst muses, looking towards Frosty.

Hoarfrost The process of tattooing is a slow, painful, bloody work given the tools of the age. When Hoarfrost does it though it is different. There is the sharp sting of a needle, but the pain simply turns to soreness after. Only a few trickles of blood weep from the freshly inked skin. What ever she is using as she works from behind must be purpose made. The way in which she works implies a practiced hand. A distant smile on her face as she works humming along as she goes.

"I wish I had the time to look for some better ingredients for you. I wasn't expecting you to place the working into yourself or I would have come better prepared." tapping repeatedly into the skin the ink she was given. "It is a wonderful design."

Amethyst The little alchemist squirmed little when it first started, ears pulling all the way to her head. Tattooing always hurts. And the little bits of blood bead up and leave the site without any real need to wipe it away. And finally as the pain subsides, she relaxes and her ears just lazily drift downward. "It was a last minute thing! And it'll be most helpful if I can just, reach into someone and look into their memories."
Hoarfrost "A frightening power to wield in anyone hands." Perhaps not considering how this might be used after her. What could be done to a person by rooting about in their head. Tap-tapping away with a lengthened fingernail before dipping it in the ink and repeating the process. Without thinking about it her own tattoos slowly fade into existence. Fractal patterns of silver appear over her fingers and arms almost like elbow length gloves. Whiping the work with a cloth more from habit than need she gives a nod at her finished product. "An now it is yours Amethyst. Are you ready to walk through dreams?"
Amethyst Amethyst glances over the new work, and even with the comparatively ordinary ink, it still shimmers slightly with the same prismatic aura the rest of her tattoos have. The young alchemist smile and looks to her friend, admiring Frosty's tattoos as well. "I'll have to ask you about your own tattoos sometime." And then she grins, with her ears back just a little. "And I think the real question is, are you ready to walk through your past lives?"
Hoarfrost "Most of us have them. It keeps the wyld energies from ..." she pauses in running a hand up her arm realizing what she is about to admit "From making us the monsters they tell about in your books." Hoarfrost takes a deep breath and gives a nod. Not sure what she is about to see but needing to know none the less. "I am as ready as I am going to be." taking a new position on the floor on front of Amethyst setting cross legged on the floor as if ready to meditate.
Amethyst Amethyst blinks a little, and then her expression turns solemn as she nods. "I see. And I'm sorry these individuals exist. If we are lucky, we will never cross paths with them." Amethyst sits down in front of Frost, also crosslegged. "And, brace yourself." A swirling prismatic vortex spins spirals across her hand. "As I'm not sure what this is going to feel like." And she reaches out to touch Frost's head with her hand. And the swirling energy engulfs them both.

It's like the two were just ejected from this reality into another. Minds free to wander, to look, and to see everything in these thousand glyphs of a thousand languages. Words are spoken that have no sound but are understood anyway. "What would you like to explore?"

Hoarfrost Hoarfrost relaxes letting what ever magic they have made in part together take hold in her. Taking a moment to adjust to the weird out of body feeling. Looking at the space about her. Bits of memory floating like the stars in the sky. It is allot to take in at once. "There is a memory from a long time ago ... a floating city." Focusing a bit wondering if she can find the right star in the sky. "Thats where she lives."
Amethyst Naming the star, she can feel invisible hands working and diving and moving pieces about, until suddenly, one star pushes the rest away, leaving a vague vision of a white city against the water. And those hands gently nudge you towards this place, as the stars become more like shooting stars. She can feel the motion slowly at first, and can feel vague impressions. "home" is among the biggest.

"Who is she?" the voiceless voice asks.

Hoarfrost A feeling of home, a tie to somewhere else. Its so familiar and as the memories return It makes the pictures come into clearer picture. A woman to. Herself? Its like seeing yourself in a mirror and not recognizing the face all at once. Tall with darker skin curvy with dark curled hair oposite of the shorter pale woman she is now. "Eos." Hoarfrost says softly "I had forgotten her-my? Name ..." swallowing nervously.
Amethyst The star becomes blindingly bright in response, and suddenly she's speeding towards it. Soon, another spirit joins her. This other one feels wyld, a heart that came from the borders beyond creation, a contrast to Frost and Eos. And that spirit finds itself home with a girl sitting next to Eos, looking over the horizon towards Creation. They sit on a bench, marbled like the street in front of them. Along the ridges of the street are the glistering golden metal, orichalcum. They're alone, in this quiet little place.

"It's all so beautiful, isn't it?" The girl asks Eos, looking out to the sea.

Hoarfrost Hoarfrost, or perhaps Eos is more appropriate now. Almost surprised by the new shape than the strange landscape before her. Looking at her hand before realizing she is wearing a rather low cut dress. Nothing untoward just much more form fitting than anything she would have worn before. Still she blushes a bit hugging herself feeling strangely vulnerable. Looking around she notices the chaos beyond and the girl next to her. "It ... its more than I could have imagined." a sense of deep longing in her voice. Its like coming home for the first time in a looong while. "Its just like I ..."
Amethyst The girl is young, but much older than Amethyst, wearing just a white tunic, with what look to be some sort of sorcerous markings on key points of her body. There's also a multitude of artifacts on her, a cup, a wand, and an athame. There's other stuff in the pockets of her belt, but Eos can't see what's in them, but she might be able to remember. "Just like you remember?" The girl finishes, and you see it in her eyes. Amethyst is the one controlling this girl.
Hoarfrost Like snapping out of a day dream Eos turns her head to the girl beside her with a warm smile. "Sorry, I was elsewhere." shifting in her seat the silver bangles on her wrists jingle like bells. The curved ivory horn, her tell that rises from her head catching a bit of the weird wyld sunlight. More silver rings string fine chain and various jewels. "I'm just so taken away every time. I don't think I will ever get sick of this place." slowly the confidence in her new form reruns the old memories of who she was slowly taking the forefront sharing with the mind of Hoarforst.
Amethyst "It's alright. I get that way a lot when I think of my old home." The girl looks back, to the wyld beyond them. "I think I'll always miss it. But this is something so much more than that, you know?" Is this girl a fae? You can sort of remember her, you're good friends with her, whoever she is. But you can't quite remember what she is or her name.
Amethyst She is not a fae, but she used to be a fae. But you can't put your finger on what it is that she is. You do know you had a hand in uh, whatever was done to make her not a fae. Flashes of a sorceress workshop somewhere beneath you come to mind.
Hoarfrost There is a feeling on knowing exactly what this girl feels. Not seeing home in a long time, perhaps never seeing it again. Knowing that it is better this place in home now. Somehow that makes some of the glint and glitter of the place some how ... less. The feeling of pride takes over, refocusing on the good. "We are doing important work here. Right." nudging the girl like she might a little sister. "Enough sitting, I can't stand being still this long." standing and heading toward the direction of the arcane lab. "You want to come -ah ... " mind blanking as she realizes the name is just out of reac
Amethyst "Aurora." And then the girl blinks a little, as though surprising herself that she knew the name. She should, it is her name, but one might remember that Amethyst is somewhere underneath her. How did Amethyst know the name? "We do. Although I was successful, we have many more to create."
Hoarfrost Aurora how could she have forgotten? How did Amethyst know? There is a moment of dysphoria causing her to skip a step, in her otherwise smooth gate. "More ..." that seems right there is allot of work to do. "Yes, things are seeming to go as planned. Waiting a moment more so she can walk along side with her friend.
Amethyst "Maybe we'll be able to have our own little society of folks like me after time. With your efforts, anything is possible!" Aurora is quite chipper as they walk. "Just imagine, I won't be the only one like me after while. A--" the dream distorts just slightly, as this is a harder memory to grasp. What /is/ Amethyst? No, not Amethyst. /Aurora/. You had to mentally correct yourself there.
Hoarfrost Eos puts her hand on her head rubbing the spot under her horn as the world seems to go a bit out of sink. The memories stuttering to a halt almost like she is in a living record that skipped. "Its not every day you make a whole -"loosing the term as the world skips again "-i'm so proud of you Aurora. Your going to have allot on your hands when that finally happens. Showing them the ropes." leaning in and giving the other woman a bit of a squeeze. Moving from the upper most level of the floating city and entering into one of the buildings on the first level, moving to the stairs down to the lab.
Amethyst Aurora smiles, and nods. "It is a big responsibility, to have a soul. I'm just excited, and I hope the... issues can be smoothed out." And everything starts to feel echo-y and more distant, and you can feel Amethyst's grip on the vision weaken. How long has it been? It can't be that long. Yet, she is exhausted, and soon everything starts to become more of a blur of moving pictures, some you can see, some you cannot comprehend, of all of the gories of this city and all the various things your old self hung onto for comfort. And a cry, as Aurora ran to some place to try to fend off an attack against the city, and it would be the last time you saw her. And with all of those flashes, you open your eyes to find a tired Amethyst sprawled out onto Frost.
Hoarfrost Tear well up in Frosts eyes. Loss, knowing she ... or Eos never got to say goodbye. Was she like a daughter? Perhaps she misinterpreted it at first. So much to process so quickly it takes her a moment to realize Amethyst is sprawled out on the floor. With a quick movement she is over her checking to make sure her signs are stable and that she is in good health. Hoping there is no unforseen backlash of the working. Somewhere somehow without realizing it there is a stronger tie, not too unlike that she had felt for Aurora not moments ago.
Amethyst "Promise that we'll be ok Eos, that we'll see eachother again after we push them back. There's no way they can win. Promise... that you won't leave me... again..." Amethyst is clearly still experiencing the vision, her tattoos still glowing steadily. But you can easily see how you can safely bring her out of the vision using some combination of your medical know-how and your sorcery.
Hoarfrost Moving her head onto Frosty's lap so she can have a bit of elevation. "We will be okie Aurora." her voice almost not her own. Running her hand comfortingly through Amethysts hair. "We will meet each other again." a sad little smile on her face, tears still flowing freely. Her tattoos glow as she focuses the same energy into her hands again. Fingers easily pushing into Amethysts body with almost zero resistance in key points along the tattoo. Her own essence disrupting the flow in such a way as to bring her out of the spell. For a moment both of their energies connecting.
Amethyst You can feel her own deep sorrow, her fear, and the things she wishes for. And you realize, feeling these things, could it be that Amethyst was also remembering things? And you can't help but wonder, if the one you are holding, is Aurora. It seems like nonsense, because she isn't even an exalted, and by and large mortal souls don't remember their past lives. Their old memories are purified and released, and then their soul is returned to the world. There is a whole web of mysteries here, with Amethyst, with Aurora, with you and whatever you did at that place.
Hoarfrost Removing her fingers now that the spell has run its course. A shiver running up her spine from the strange moment of connection between the two. The moment of shared emotions almost confirming the feelings in her gut her mind was trying to disprove. "That just raises more questions." she grouses to herself still running her hand through the other's hair. Whipping the tears from her face she sighs sits with Amethyst making sure she is safe and well.
Amethyst It takes a moment, but Amethyst comes to suddenly. "Uh. What happened?" She seems just a little dazed, looking up at Frost. She starts with her fingers, wiggling them, before moving onto her arms and then moving her body around slowly but surely. It seems she is already familiar with how to deal with coming down from an intense trance. "Am I ok? Are you ok? Did the working, work?"
Hoarfrost Eyes red, but at least her face is dry by the time Amethyst wakes up. In the meantime she has managed to add a few loose braids tied into her hair. "Oh? You do not recall, I thought ..." face crossing with a few conflicting emotions. "You seemed present the whole time." wondering now is some how she imagined it all. "Ah-sorry yes. You seemed to be locked in a vision of your own. I broke the flow of essence." touching her fingers to the spots so that Amethyst knows exactly how the spell was aborted. "Here and here. You should recover after some rest."
Amethyst As you touch those spots, you realize those at the /exact/ spots that were marked on Aurora. And Amethyst nods a little. "My head hurts. But I don't remember what happened. I touched your head, dove into you, found a memory you were looking for, and then it just blanks." Amethyst then goes and grabs some ink and a pen and some paper, "Now, we should record what /you/ saw. For record keeping purposes. Also maybe to help my fragmented mind a little." Frosty, you /know/ better than to tell Amethyst what happened piece by piece. But she probably has a point in writing it down. It was like a dream, so memories of it might fade like a dream.
Hoarfrost "C-carefully ..." Hoarfrost chides softly as the other sorcerer gets up and goes for her paper and ink, but is clearly has no authority to tell the woman anything. Rubbing her hands as the imagine of Aurora's markings crystallize in her mind. Standing herself she moves to a place they can do some writing properly that isn't a floor. Taking the offered implements she stares at the page wondering how to even begin. "A wise choice I can already feel some of it fading." dipping the ink she begins writing quickly. The description is truthful to what she saw, but leaves out the context of the connection to Amethyst. "That should do for now."
Amethyst Amethyst does pause for the brief moments when she is chided, as tho she's familiar with such a thing. She shakes her head and remembers her mother's ways with her. And then Amethyst looks outside. It is quite deep into the night. "...We should rest. And you're welcome to stay the night."
Hoarfrost Drained in more ways than one Hoarfrost nods. Blowing on the page for the ink to dry before slipping the notes into her book she stands again and smiles. "Sleep is a wonderful idea. I'm fine about anywhere you want to put me ... do you mind if I change shapes? I wouldn't want to make you uncomfortable."
Amethyst "Make yourself at home." Amethyst tells Frost, smiling a little, but her downward eyes shows she might not be 100% comfortable with it yet, but getting over it is a good idea. "All I ask from you is that you don't go around flaring your anima. Even here in the Scavenger Lands, in these times, I don't want to die to the Wyld Hunt." Her message to Frost is fairly subtle.
Hoarfrost While normally she might have gone to the defensive about her talents or sulked Hoarfrost has a bit more confidence in herself for some reason. Simply giving a smile and nod, touched by the subtler meaning. Heart nearly full she has to resist the urge to cry a bit from joy. "Worry not I don't make a habit."
Amethyst Amethyst grins, her ears more natural now, as she leads Frost up to what must a guest bedroom. It's not anything special, but it's definitely better than sleeping on the floor. She gives Frost a little hug. "I think this might be the start of something beautiful." Amethyst says, giggling a little.
Hoarfrost Frosty returns the hug in earnest. "I do think in that I completely agree." Feeling the weight of the day on her, but also the warmth of something else in her heart. Part of her can hardly wait to leap back into the dream scape again and learn more. "Have a wondering night Amethyst and get a good nights sleep." before retiring to her room the door shutting behind her. The moonlight cast in the room giving her a rather odd shadow and glinting off her crimson eyes. A voice not the usual warm soft tones of small witch "There is so much work to do after all."
