Amethyst Another day raises, another breakfast, some more overcooked eggs. And in time she requests to be alone, meditating and praying to the dragons, synergizing herself with them and breathing in the ideas they present, and trying to reconcile Anathema into this heirarchy. 'Where do these chosen fit within it? How could they relate to the five dragons?' are questions she's asked herself so many times, and never did she truly receive an answer. This has become a daily routine for her, yet only in due time might she find her answer. Returning downstairs, she looks for Frostie, who has perhaps been staying here with her.
Hoarfrost A pair of voices come from downstairs. One familiar another distant, ephemeral, to the point of blending into the various goings ons of the world outside. With it a breeze seems to flow through the kitchen where the witch had been cleaning up from breakfast.

"You have all that?" Hoarfrost says with an almost uncharacteristically stern tone. "Good, now Please be patient with them they are still trying to figure out the whole writing thing, and do hurry?" The soft squeak of a window opening. A rush of wind that scatters a paper or two before she closes it up again. With a sigh of relief she begins puttering about again finishing the last of the tidying up.

Amethyst Amethyst's interest is piqued, ears middled and curious of what it is that Frosty was doing. Stepping quietly and remembering her training, words going through her head (Be silent, be quiet, for those who are wicked are most vulnerable when they do not know they are being watched) and the follow up (and be swift, and ready, with whatever tools you might have at your disposal, for a second's hestitation might be the different between life and death). She's read so many of those phrases. And it is with that careful swiftness she tries to sneak up to Frostie, and only reveals herself when she's practically on top of her. "What's ya doin'?" Amethyst leaning against the window, grinning.
Hoarfrost "Eep!" Hoarfrost fumbles the pan in her hands barely able to catch hold of it again before it falls to the floor. "Amethyst you spooked me." Not looking put out and is already smiling at the woman, something she seems to do allot around Amethyst lately. "I've been away from my home for a while. I was hoping to send my friend a message to let her know how I'm doing." Gesturing to the kitchen table where a few pieces of blank paper, ink and quill sit ready for a message. "Not sure you meet last you visited she is a bit shy." Expression looking mildly apologetic.
Amethyst Amethyst chuckles and rubs Frostie's head. But in her gesture it's clear, solemnly, that even with their friendship she doesn't entirely trust the chosen of luna. Tho Frosty probably already knew that. "That's alright. We should go there again sometime. And I wasn't exactly aware of.. things back then, either." Amethyst is trying to understand tho, her and Frostie both know that.

"A lot has changed in the past few weeks... Almost as much as when I first went to Elderloch and started training to have these tattoos branded on me, and to conquer the power they'd give me lest I be swept up in its wake, like, say, what's happening with the memory glyph." The alchemist shakes her head, and mutters to herself, "It is no small task to master power. For some, it may take months. Others years. And some never master it. And those who wield power without understanding it, have the greatest to lose to those most wicked." With how well she knows whatever book this comes from, you'd think she grew up in a temple or some such.

Hoarfrost Giggling a bit as her hair is tossed smiling and looking up into Amethyst's worried expression. Her own expression turning more serious as she realizes she worries her a bit. Forgetting for a moment some aspects of her powers still frighten the girl a bit. "I thought the best time to do it was during your prayers I'm sorry it the spell casting bothered you." Giving a little bow of apology, knowing enough etiquette to know how to properly apologize in the realm. "I look forward to introducing you two. I raised them since her eyes where still shut to the world. Looks a bit scary but she is a big sweetie once you get to know her."

"Forgive me I find sometimes I loose your meaning." Taking a seat at the kitchen table "I have never been one tied by a faith- per-say, and I find your scripture a little harder to parse. Are you implying we should stop with our experiment or try again so we can master it properly?"

Amethyst Amethyst relaxes, and just runs a hand through her hair. "I should learn to be less worried, and maybe more clear when I think of what I've learned." She muses. And as she takes a seat too, she's a little caught off guard by Frosty's comment. She takes a moment of focus for her to think, with her ears lowering and eyes closing. And she speaks. "Well, it's a passage actually about leadership. And it implies we start small, and work our way upwards until we can master it, never reaching too far lest uh," She scruntches her face, the quote she was about to recite maybe not the thing she wants. "bad things happen. Anyway." And as she opens her eyesthem, she smiles, ears again up. "We should start small with it. Simple memories. Instead of diving deeply into our past lives."
Hoarfrost Without even thinking on it Hoarfrost leans in a bit to the scritches. Only noticing what she is doing when they stop. Blushing just a little as she composes herself. "Learning goes both ways. I will try and be more mindful in the future." Thinking for a moment on the explanation of the passage. "To you it must make me seen dim to not get the meaning. Perhaps I am taking them apart too much and trying to add my own. Still It holds a good wisdom." Leaning in a little bit figuring where this conversation is going. "Where would you like to start today?"
Amethyst When the young alchemist realizes her friend was quite enjoying the scritches, she can't help but blush a little too. And she returns to the scritches with a devilish smile. "I don't see you as dim-witted. You just aren't taught the way I was. Everyone has their own path." And the girl considers a starting point. "Maybe I could show you what I looked like back then, so that you might be able to, if only for a short while, well, return me to that form?" Amethyst closes her eyes and smiles, remembering the pleasant feelings of not as much swimming as much as gliding through the deep waters.
Hoarfrost Oh no her weakness discovered! Practically melting under the head stitches. The powerful Anathema brought low, slowly leaning into the other. A soft "Mmmph" of contentment escaping her lips. A dreamy look on her face till there is a pause and she blushes even redder. "I-ah it's a-" stuttering a little as the embarrassment. Hiding her face in her hands. "S-sometimes we take a bit of a beast into us w-when we..." trying her best to explain but is just a mess.

Composing herself a little she nods. "Show me one of your current memories. That is a good choice." A little exited to see just what the true Amethyst looked like before she moved out here. "I can understand not wanting to let me take a more artistic interpretation." Giving a little wink and nodding "Ready when you are."

Amethyst Amethyst is giggling herself, very hard actually and just as red as she's discovered Frostie's weakness. A mighty dragon she is, scritching the Anathema into submission! And finally the alchemist sighs and stops the scritching so she can compose herself. Frostie's frenzied words of explanation only make Amethyst giggle harder. "Oh there is much for me to learn about you as there is you about me." Amethyst says, giving her one final mischevious scritch.

"Alright, dear." Amethyst goes over and sits down on a comfy cushion like she did before, beckoning Frosty over to join her.

Hoarfrost It takes another moment or two before Hoarfrost is able to get up from the chair and move over to the meditation pillows that they had used before. Trying to not show how wobbly she feels still a little flush from the previous excitement. Trying to quiet her mind as she does so as to keep her thoughts on the task at hand.

Taking her seat she takes one last deep breath and is almost looking like her regular self. The pale, pale skin making it very hard for her not to look a bit pink still. Taking the stance she did last time she readies herself for the magic without another word.

Amethyst Amethyst's eyes and ears both take a centered, relaxed state as she enters her own meditative state. She breaths deeply, in circles, four times for each of the four directions, before bringing her hand to Hoarfrost's head and nods. "Brace yourself. Here I go." And with that, both their sets of tattoos glow with essence, especially the memory glyph, the moonsilver contrasting with whatever it is that Amethyst's tattoos are made from. And then, there is no more reality, but that same void, with invisible hands shaping and wielding the dream. A thousand stars, some the tamed colors of jade, other the prismatic color of the wyld, and some of other sorts of colors. And we have one near the boarder of the two largest nebulae, focus on one dimming all the rest of them, as Frost is taken deeper into things. "It will be a surprise." a voiceless voice warns. "Try not to be too alarmed."
Hoarfrost Floating through the dream space Hoarfrost takes a moment to do a little flip through the air loving the strange weightlessness in this void between dreams. She could just stare up into the memories that look like stars for hours. Something inside tells her that kind of introspection onto her life perhaps might not be entirely healthy to try. "Wait you where in a body last time will I be in a body in the past where I'm not present for?" trying to figure out what will happen.
Amethyst It takes a few moments, but one realizes, these aren't Frost's memories at all, these must be Amethyst's. The immaculate colors of jade along side the twisting colors of the wild. There's considerable overlap between the nebulae, a curious thing in and of itself. And the one they are heading towards, seems to be in that particular overlap. "So... you will be in my body, experiencing what I felt." The voiceless voice explains. It's kind of eerie how distant and yet familiar it is. As something fades into view, fuzzy at first, Frosty can vaguely feel the senses of... something? It's hard to tell.
Hoarfrost The voice .... Amethyst's or Aurora's? Its familiar but just difficult enough to tell in this space. It is less sound and more of a feeling. "I'll be you?" the little witch says with a bit of surprise, not noticing the moment she intersects with a particular star. The galaxies fade away and a new light blinding at first before the scene comes into view.
Amethyst As she speaks, Frost is surprised to not hear her own voice. It's at that moment that a moment is seen, first from afar, two figure swimming through the sea, with lights on the horizon. The figures slowly gain shape as you realize one can see through this darkness, eyes slitted and reddish-violet. One figure has a full fish tail, she's older, more mature, more well rounded and able, more familiar with this setting and more knowledgable. You feel a kinship with this figure, she's familiar to you.

Then there's you. It took you a moment to realize it as you aren't looking through your own eyes yet, just drifting above, seeing the scene. There's no fishtail, but limbs that are much more built for the water, almost translucent with how thin the skin is. And there are no bones in those limbs, clearly. But there are scales, and suddenly the translucent effect makes sense: The scales shift colors. You can feel nervous, so your scales take on that feeling almost instinctively.

Oh, and neither figure is clothed.

"...There's a story I need to tell you, Amethyst." This must be the mother Amethyst's talked about so.

Hoarfrost Looking at herself, slender small built for the water. Scales as expressive as her ears. Even in the memory she is a little a little disoriented. So much to see and takin in at once. From the simple feeling of the sensory information her fins are telling her about the water the water is moving around her to the feeling of her gills taking in water.

"A story?" turning about and floating towards her mother to attend.

Amethyst It's amazing just how easy it is to move about in this form. Truly, it is less swimming and more... gliding? Every so often you just have to move your body slightly and you go sailing forward again. There's a whole formation to it that just automatically lays itself out in your head. And it's such an elation, this must be how Amethyst felt swimming in the river, and that was with her current body. This one is... so much better at it.

"A story." She grins, and turns a little solemn. Seems the expressive ears are just an Amethyst thing tho. "Now that we are so far away, and your father is off on /another/ one of his... adventures." The lady rolls her eyes. You can almost remember her name, if you dared to try. "I felt it best to tell you the truth behind his stories. For you see, your father was not always so... reckless. Once he was one of the best captains of the Imperial Navy."

And you can feel, the old story he told. How once upon a time his family made a living off of fishing until he Exalted. An outcaste, he looked towards the Blessed Isle and make a pigrimage there, and choose the coin. But the Dragons abandoned him at his weakest, left his entire legion decimated except for him, and left him to flee in dishonor, all the way to Lookshy. Here, he would take up study of the Immaculate Philosophy (maybe this is why Amethyst wants to visit there?), before finally retreating from those ends, and coming to Champoor, where he met Amethyst's mother and the rest was history. That was the story that was told. But, an captain of the Imperial navy?

There's excitement, as flashes and pictures and knowledge of the Realm and the Blessed Isle. One particular image comes to mind, too, a grand display of the Legions and the Might of the Realm, with the Empress herself sitting in grand display. It's all breathtaking, the first age marvels and the unity of the ten thousand dragons in the perfected heirarchy.

Hoarfrost It is unclear sometimes where her control begins and ends. Unsure if the elation of the water is making it hard to stay still or if that was simply Amethyst's own love of the water. Even as her mother starts to weave a tale of her father and where he comes from there is this temptation to keep moving and plaything through the water.

There is something that catches her out of her water-play. A slow realization of something that sparks her own memories. Not of ages long past but memories of her own childhood and a question rises to the surface. "Why does he leave then? If he found people, if he found a family that excepts him as he is?"

Amethyst "He used to be a great captain." The mother continues. "There were... incidents. One after another. Once he was a proud Dynast of House Peleps, in charge of one of the merchant fleets. Then, he was the only survivor of a terrible storm. This stripped him of his duties, and so he turned to the Dragons for answers. He studied so much of the Immaculate Philosphy, but in the end, he could not reconcile what happened. The gods just turned against him and drown him and his favor all at once. It's curious, really..."
Amethyst "Then he went all the The Seventh Legion of Lookshy, and searched for answers in their faith, and still found nothing. So at last, he came to Champoor, city of shades, to sulk and consider what his next move would be. In the time he'd been gone, the Scarlet Empress had given House V'neef he once protected. A heartbroken Dynast who needed something different, so he showed up to a peculiar alchemy shop. And eventually, things lead to you, Amethyst." She smiles, and pats her daughter on the head.

There is definitely the instincitve urge to continue to swim and move and go. Especially with the flexibility and the lack of any true gravity. It's not hard to picture swimming for hours just for the fun of it, or why Amethyst wants this form again.

Amethyst "He never thought that he might have enemies abroad who wanted to work against him, and neither did he ever listen to me. Sometimes to find what it is inside, we must find what is outside." Her mother concludes.

"But why hide it all?" The little fish-amethyst asks, swimming around her mother, eyes curious and eager for more.

Her mother sighs, and closes her eyes. "When you were born, in hopes you would be brought into the Dynasty--despite his 'carelessness' as he called it -- He brought you before the House Matriarch. And this was the final straw against his household. Within a week it was struck from the ledgers of House Peleps, and a burglary on your father's holdings left you and him the only survivors. And this is why he lied. Unfortunately, I must speak the truth, for you will--"

And the line just trails off. The mother pulls away and little Amethyst is left in a void. She, was the reason that neither one of them were part of the household, why he was formally ejected from the House. Swirling sorrow floods, and rapidly shows the way that her resolve has hardened since that moment, to return and clear both her own and her father's name. And alas, the emotional intensity seems to have thrown things off balance.

As you blink, you now see Amethyst in front of you again, looking down at herself. She didn't have the heart to tell you her story, so she showed it to you instead.

Hoarfrost Disoriented again as the world shifts back into view. Glancing at her hands realizing she is back in her own body. Looking up to see Amethyst sitting across from her. Shifting forward still a little wobbly she wraps her arms around her friend into a big hug. "I'm sorry that was put on you Amethyst ... Its not your fault." She is exhausted from the magic and her words almost sound like mumbling as she falls asleep right there in Amethyst's arms.
Amethyst Amethyst hugs, and nestles against her. "It's alright. I know I am only the catalyst. But that changes my thoughts none." And she yawns, and likes the idea of sleep too. So she curls up with her friend without really thinking about it. At least the magic worked right this time.
