Black Pearl The Chateau of Resplendant Delights is a decently large establishment, if not in the absolute best part of town, then still upscale. The open part of the main floor is given over to excellent food and tea, with music performed to soothe the soul as well. There are other parts that are far more discreet to enter, but at least on its face, it is a very nice restraunt and tea-house.

It is good enough, certainly, that Black Pearl, the proprietress herself, will often be there, to show off to others, or to listen to interesting rumors. For now the ebon-skinned water-caste, still somewhat shrouded in mystery, sips tea while watching the performance of a skilled flute-player, with music that gives rise to the feeling of winds over the endless plains.

Misa There could be any number of reasons for someone like Misa to arrive in a place like this. Music, drink... probably not carousing. She doesn't much look the type to fall in with crowds easily.

The answer- or at least part of it- comes quickly as she finds her way to a relatively quiet table and an order of a light tea. Her effects- a pair of short blades and a middling flute of her own- are set to the side and remain sheathed. For all that she busies herself with tea, any decent eye can tell she's sizing up the room as a whole, be it by habit or particular intent.

Black Pearl The room is pleasant enough and the atmosphere is one of relaxation, conducive to enjoying the meal, and the music, at least in the main room. Other rooms might have more...vigorous entertainment.

For now, though, aside from the murmurs of the staff, and the flute playing, mostly it is just chatter that is heard. Little snippets of business dealings, of plans for parties, and here and there, people speculating on the origin of the latest exalt. "A Dynast! Has to be Peleps!" V'neef is another possibility, while a third swears that she has to be from the South--Chiariscuro itself to match her coloring of ebony and moonlight.

Misa A sweep of the eyes across a few of these conversations- and perhaps a slight furrowing of the brow, ponderous. A small scroll and writing implement come out- checking off one note before scrawling in a shorthanded note referring to Prasad in a questioning tone.
Black Pearl Eventually, one of the servants comes to the table and clears his throat. "A pardon, but are you the Lady Misa? If so, my lady extends an invitation to join her. If not, apologies, and we will let you be."
Misa A curious quirk of the brow from Misa- she pauses for a longish moment at being approached so, although she's quite quick to roll her small scroll back up, smudging be damned. Eventually, she nods, standing up quietly and gathering her effects to follow
Black Pearl The servants leads the way upstairs to a somewhat better-off dining area, various rooms partitioned off, and in one such is Black Pearl herself. Her exaltation left her with ebony skin, but silvery-white hair, a faint pearlescent sheen to skin and hair both. Dressed well in flowing silks, she has tea set out at the table, and nods as the pair come. The servant bows, and withdraws, and the woman says, in Riverspeak, "Please, join me. There is tea if you would like. Juice, or water. What would refresh?"
Misa "I believe I was sufficed downstairs for the moment," Misa answers- her voice is almost comically soft, and her posture on edge around the escort in one fashion or another.

She takes the seat either way, settling her hands on her lap for the moment. "What causes a proprietor to know me by name?" she questions evenly.

Black Pearl "I have ears myself to hear rumors, and the best way to learn of the city is to first learn who is looking for things. And then...follow them, or hide, yes?" She smiles cordially.
Misa A shrug from Misa, and she sets down her swords in their sheath, one next to the other in a carefully precise parallel. She exhales slowly, considering the other woman.

"I will need to beg your pardon, then. I apologize for the blatant assessment of your establishment- I find familiarity with the clientele of gathering places is an ideal preparatory measure for when next I am given reason to search for someone or something. Impolite, perhaps, but part of what makes me good at what I do"

Black Pearl "Of course. And this is a public establishment. Certainly ther are private thigns going on here, but it is not as though you are coming to my home to try to find secrets there. It is, I suppose, a simple cost of doing business." Black Pearl's smile is still warm. "If you do have questions, well...if you ask directly, I might answer, in return for asking questions of you."
Misa "I am not certain you will find much of interest in questioning me- all my most interesting concerns are those of others which I am often paid to keep private." A faint smile, with that, and she shrugs it off.

"That being said, it seems your patrons ask often after your origins- I cannot help but be swept up in the curiousity."

Black Pearl "I am new here. They wonder who I am, where I am from, what possible agenda I have...Some think it a game, and a bare few are content to take me as I am." She chuckles, "If you would rather not answer questions, that is fine. But then I will not answer them directly either."
Misa A shake of the head from Misa; "No, please, feel free to ask away, I just ask you to not expect overly much- I promise I look far more interesting than I am- I am not even the Lookshyan I appear to be," she says with a mild, effected smile.

"But I suppose my primary question is- dissembling aside- presumably you have heard some repute of digging up one cult or another. Any such troubles in your time in Great Forks thus far?"

Black Pearl Black Pearl thinks a long moment. "No, I cannot say I have heard, yet, of a cult rising and forming. Though between all the temples here, and anathema walking the streets in public, I suppose I should not be surprised." She nods, "It would be interesting to know the truth, certainly...."
Misa Misa waves it off mildly, head shaking. "Just an example as a specialty- I have done my share of uncovering potential affairs and the like, or taking stock of a death." She shrugs again, running a finger along the flute at her side.

"Though I confess I do my best to stay away from anathematic affairs where I can, so I cannot speak much to that. Though given that particular framing- Might one be reasonable in assuming you yourself hail from the realm proper, or perhaps lookshy? Given the apparent view of the gods who rule the city."

Black Pearl Black Pearl nods in understanding. "I have been to the Realm, but found it...constricting. For now, I am enjoying things here. It is much easier to flow. And surely I do not look martial, do I?" She grins, "As for the city's gods...they are here and powerful. Surely it is proper to show them respect."
Misa Misa shrugs slightly. "Some say I do not look martial in my quietness and hair- I still will be arrogant enough to call myself capable. And from what I understand, Lookshy has politicians and craftsfolk and all such the same as anywhere."

"Pardon my misunderstanding then- Often a line such as that suggests a distaste for such rulership."
