Raullaur The warehouse district has a lot of hustle and bustle. Especially now that one of the warehouses has been taken over by a mercenary group of leonine beastmen. Enough room for basic facilities and to do some training, and sleep--so long as people are friendly and don't need too much room. A group of them are drilling and sparring, and doing so with practised ease rather than the normal barbarian chaos.

Among them, one strides, a bit taller, a bit broader of build, and with a giant sword sheathed at his back, though he is able to carry it easily. He roars commands in a bestial tongue at odd invertals, but the soldiers respond quickly. Or, if they don't, get whacked hard by another's wooden training sword. This certainly seems to be the current location of the Lions' Pride, as rumor has them.

Misa To call Misa average in size would typically be quite accurate- amongst towering lionfolk, less so. Exacerbated still by her drawn-in shoulders and lowered head as she makes her way through the crowds to this warehouse.

She draws near and grows more certain in her stride, stepping her way to the doors quietly. Gently her knuckles rap against the frame, glancing her way around to ensure she's not about to be in the way of anyone. Difficult noise to hear over the din of practice perhaps, but the rapping grows firmer if it needs repeating.

Raullaur Ears twitch in the leader's cinnamon-colored mane, and he calls out something else, and one of the others starts to take over the drill. He then comes over to where Misa knocked and gives a courteous nod, before speaking in a resonant baritone-bass voice, using accented Riverspeak. "Grreetings," he rumbles, rolling his Rs. "Come to hirre, or see who is herrre?"
Ignis A nearby wall that seperates this particular warehouse from the next over is serving as a resting perch for the third person in todays unusual gathering. Ignis rests there with proficient and comfortable ease, watching the warehouse with a thoughtful gaze and a glint of curiousity in his eyes.

Misa's approach draws his attention and he inclines his head in recognition and then looks to the warehouse itself once the doors open and the large and quite heavily armed Lion Man greets her.

"Well I suppose this day won't get any more interesting if I just keep lounging around up here.." he muses to himself and then an instant later drops down from his perch to land atop a large cargo crate. From there he steps down onto a piled up collection of tarps and heavy cloths and skids down it towards more solid footing. His approach is confident but not aggressive and his hands slip easily into the depths of his reinforced jacket.

Misa "If you will pardon my intrusion, the latter," says Misa- she's quiet voiced by nature, and the bustle of the area does not make for a convenient listen.

"To avoid being too pointed, I work in fields that much value information on arrivals like this. I hoped to inquire as to what may have brought a group such as this here- one ought to be aware of turmoil in, say the hundred kingdoms."

Raullaur Raullaur looks up when Ignis jumps down and walks over, but he waits easily, continuing the conversation. "Heard it was a good market for mercs here," he answers her. "Get enough jade, enough reputation, enough spoils...then we get our own realm instead of being nomads." He chuckles, "That is for free...if you want other information...I would like some in return, about the situation here...who would be a good client...that sort of thing."

As Ignis approaches, he gives the other man a nod, "And what brrings you here?"

Ignis "A troop of highly trained and disciplined lion-men arrive in Great Forks with a leader carrying a weapon like -that-?" answers Ignis with a growing smile as it he comes to a stop just behind Misa and folds his arms, "Do I need to even answer that question?" His gaze drifts to the weapon and then back again. He himself is not lightly armed either. A flameshooter and what could only be daiklaive considering its size and the ornate looking of it's grip is visible on him if the details of its make are obscured.

"I think you all are causing quite a stir among the locales. That's a good thing.. Plus I've met your current 'client' before so I thought I'd see how she was doing." He looks to Misa and then back towards Raullaur.

Misa And again Misa is dwarfed in another aspect- her own pair of simple, mundane short blades hardly seems like anything in this company. Her other blade is nowhere to be seen.

She glances over her shoulder at Ignis, nodding slightly in greeting before stepping to the side and returning to the topic at hand "Well, there are always wars being fought in the hundred kingdoms. My work is more in finding specific things. Though I have heard of one or two potentially brewing battles. I may move south myself soon to aid in some of the resulting chaos."

Raullaur Raullaur grunts, "Fought up from the south. Might have left some chaos in our tracks." He nods, "Still, if they pay well, we'll fight. I'd put us up against anyone our size, that isn't a unit of Dragons. Easily. But who are you? Both of you? Either?"
Ignis "Chaos? It seems I need to increase my own skills in getting information or hire someone like yourself.." considers Ignis as he rubs his jaw thoughtfully. "I hadn't heard of any such troubles but perhaps I've had my head in the ground to much in regards to the local issues..." his voice trails off as if about to say more..but then he shakes his head and looks to the large lion-man.

"I am called Ignis. Up until recently involved in business related to what you might refer to as a Scavenger Lord and the digging up of old sites and old mysteries..but of late I've been on a more personal journey one might say. I've some interest in local defense and martial matters as well so when I heard of your arrival..I had to see for myself."

Misa "Hanase Misa," answers the woman in a quiet half-truth. She nods a little to each in turn, smiling faintly. She bows along with it.

"I am much simpler- an investigator about the city and occasionally beyond. I am sure there is one village or another hoping to find some respite from being razed en route to a proper battle, however. I imagine a list would not be difficult to assemble."

Raullaur "Raullaur," he returns, his name alost a growl in and of itself. "So, you've come to see. And what do you think?" Behind them, the drill is come to a close, and the soldiers start to go to weapons maintenance instead, relaxing and complaining, as is a warrior's sacred right.

"And what troubles are coming? Anything I should prepare us to fight in particular?"

Ignis "I'm going to defer to our friend here so far as that answer goes." responds Ignis, easily. "I'm afraid I've been out of touch. I can say that there have been some incidents and worry regarding matters of demons and cultists but that is not common knowledge..but perhaps something you and yours might be able to assist in, in your own way..." Ignis inclines his head towards the Grand Daiklaive. "...After all..no man can easily lift one of those things much less heft it around as casually as you seem to be..hmm?"
Misa "Well, when is there not two or more kingdoms warring in that region?" asks Misa, smiling faintly. "I do hear of a nation known as Aldaran with aims to expand- may be worth looking into, if one favours or disfavours such a place."
Raullaur "First they hire us to expand. Then to defend...of course if they pay us to do all their fighting for them..." The lion-man laughs deeply. "How many have fallen to those they pay to fight?" Lips pull back as thoguh trying to smile, but he ends up baring fangs.

"Been learning more about the sorts of people who can lift these things. Were you looking to talk private? Spar? Or something else?"

Ignis "Spar?" Ignis looks briefly coy, "Now what makes you think that either of us could withstand the strength necessary to swing something like that around with enough ease to make it a viable weapon in combat..? That's a rather upfront offer but I have to admit my curiousity is peaked abit more now. Tell me..what sort of things have you and yours learned about the people who can lift and wield these things? Hopefully you've not actually gotten the ill attention of any of the Dragons?"
Misa Misa spreads her hands out, head shaking. "Please- these weapons are but for self-defense. An attack the other day has made me paranoid, as it were." Less emphasized in the note is the ease with which she dispatched of the assailants.

She turns almost stony silent at the talk of dragons and such, frowning a little as she looks between the other two. She rests her hands with thumbs hooked into her sash-belt, ponderous. "But, well... I cannot say I know who might be hiring, I understand Aldaran has a robust standing army but considerable finances besides."

Raullaur "I can look into them. See what they--or others near them--are like," Raullaur says. "As for the Dragons, we managed to defeat a small band of a Wyld Hunt. So we have a bit of their attention already. As for what I know..." He shrugs slightly, "There are ancient songs. I can try to sing them. I am learning more from others about the town, though."
Ignis The slight shift in posture and subtle mood change is noted by Ignis. He cuts his gaze over towards Misa for half an instant but then looks back to Raullaur and simply listens to them both. Then--

"Looking into Aldaran may be a wise move indeed. However, given the traffic Great Forks enjoys, the reputation of the three gods and matters of business and trade I imagine that there is no shortage of commission and contract work for things like escorting goods, bodybuards of the noble, affuluent and paranoids...or even assistance to the local militia as supernatural affairs are not uncommon here and I'm sure they'd appreciate all the help they can get. Perhaps consider reaching out to the government?"

Ignis then chuckles, his hand resting absently on the pommel of his blade, "..as to the rest, ancient songs hold many truths and not a small amount of embellishments as well. Local gossip can be rather dangerous in its own way mind you.. But at least you've warm bodies to track information back to the source.."

Misa "I imagine you will not hear much to surprise- a nation claiming its people need more resources than the land they've been existing on, or someone with ideas of grandeur, or something along those lines," suggests Misa, still soft and quiet- then again, she hasn't been loud at any point here. "But it is true- if willing to subdivide your force I am certain you could find all manner of work in and around the city in one fashion or another. Or, well- clearly you have a warehouse. Presumably it could become some form of workshop."
Raullaur "Artisans are elsewhere, not here. Hopefully can find a good contract soon." He yawns, and stretches out, and for a moment, claws flex, before he returns to simply standing. "For now, though, I should head out. I have to meet a pair. Perhaps we will meet again soon..."
Ignis Ignis nods his head politely and steps to the side since..well..who would -want- to impede someone like that if they've announced it's time to depart.

"A pleasure, Raullaur. You as well, Hanase Misa."
