Raullaur The south side of the city is a bit rougher than most, but this just means that when there is order, it's fairly noticable. A mercenary company of lionmen came in about a month ago, and have taken over a larger warehouse complex, living and training in the area. Sure, there are still brawls from time to time, but things are rather orderly for a couple of blocks around.

The leader is taller than most, and keeps a grand daiklaive sheathed on his back, carrying it easily, but not showing what material it is. And, finishing with a delegatin of priests, he gives them a tithe--or tax--and they depart, mollified and accepting.

First Socket of the Heavenly Garden The warehouse district is a useful area to spend time and work on projects when Socket returns back into town. So, through the warehouse district travels a rather unusual sort of horse. The horse's lack of fur, and body of gold with a sort of sheet doing a terrible job of disguising it also makes it a bit more pleasant to ride, with a collection of heavy packs also upon it.

Though, as she travels along, it's certainly interesting to see that giant blade on the lion-man's back, which encourages her to hop off the horse to approach and see what he has there. "Hello!" She calls, to him, though it could also just be to to his sword.

Raullaur The horse is definitely unusual...Sunsgold? And then the woman jumps off and compes closer. "Grreetings," he returns, a baritone-bass voice rumbling, and rolling his Rs and Ls. "Rrrraullaurr of the Llions' Prrride. Arre you herre to inquirre about hirrring us? Orrrr something elllse?"
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Socket certainly does have a rather unusual horse. "Yes, hi! Um... no, nice to meet you, Rrrraullaur. I'm Socket. I... no, wasn't planning to hire anyone... what would you get hired for? That's... quite the sword you have there!"
Raullaur "Guarding people, or property. Fighting against an enemy...there are many small conflicts in the area with larger ones brewing, and everyone wants an edge," Raullaur says. "And for our size, we're the best anyone can hire. Full-size army might take us on, but nothing our own size would win against us. Even a bit larger, we can--and have--taken on."
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden First Socket of the Heavenly Garden says, "Oh... are you? That's certainly a bold claim!" She looks a bit about at the collection of beastmen around, then back, "Well, I'm guessing you certainly are. Quite the mercenary company you have going there." She considers, "Perhaps I'll have use to hire you... where did you find that blade?""
Raullaur "The last unopened chamber in a Monument to Days Gone By, when the Heroes born of the Sun, the Moon, and the Stars roamed Creation," Raullaur says. "Many had taken other things from the outer chambers, or died trying to go into the last one...but I withstood, and survived, and triumphed." Lips curl up at the sides of his muzzle, as he does try to smile, inhuman face and all.
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden First Socket of the Heavenly Garden says, "The last one? I'm going to guess there are more than a few of those." Socket answers with a laugh. "Oh, wait, the last one within that monument. Right, that makes sense." She nods, "Always interested in seeing more of that sort of place, have use for all sorts of things that might be in there... many of which might even have been left behind. Do let me know if you see any more places with that sort of thing.""
Raullaur "I have seen some, but they looked like well-manned fortresses. Not being paid to raid them, so...no sense in wasting my men's lives." Raullaur shrugs. "Also had a suit of armor from there, but it draws too much attention to wear openly." Unlike the attention he's drawing simply by carrying a grand daiklaive?
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden First Socket of the Heavenly Garden says, "Well-manned fortresses? Oh? Haven't seen too much... particularly of the ancient... hmmm." She looks curiously over him, up and down, the giant lion with the giant sword, "You... I'm really curious to see that and how it may draw even more attention than you're likely to... anywhere?""
Raullaur Raullaur chuckles. "Why should I show you, Socket? Who are you? I don't want to give everything about me and mine away, after all..." He nods to the horse, "I can see you have a wonder with you yourself."
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden First Socket of the Heavenly Garden says, "Who am I? Well... I had just told you, at leaset vaguely, I'm First Socket of the Heavenly Garden" She switches to Old Realm for the more complete version of her name. Then she pauses, "And I believe you'd stated you were running a bit of a mercenary company... gathering up some useful... old things is rather an interest of mine. So there'd be compensation for the work.""
Raullaur Raullaur blinks at hearing the Old Realm. Apparently it doesn't make too much sense to him. "So you're First Socket of the Heavenly Garden....what do you do? And come in..." He leads his way into the wearhouse. "Can stable your horse out of sight. Will be safe."
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Socket looks back at him, and well, up, mostly, "Um... sure? Yes, I can do that, come in... I... build things? And fix things? Mostly."
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Socket then takes a few steps away, to go over and lead the clockwork simulacrum of a horse around back towards the warehouse to bring it in a bit out of the way.
Raullaur Raullaur takes her deeper into the warehouse, to a basement room where things are less noisy, more private. "So this is what else I found..." And with a flash of light, the lion is suddenly encased in gleaming orichalcum articulated plate, the daiklaive now outside the armor as well. Fitted perfectly. Instantly. Almost no markings on it, except some starting to fade in with hints of pictures.
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Socket follows along into the warehouse where they wind up... in a rather more hidden away spot. "Well... that is an interesting trick..." She looks over the gleaming golden armor that suddenly surrounds him, "Hmm, was that a thing that you learned, or something about it?" She is a little fascinatedly looking over the armor, tapping it with her flesh and her... rather less flesh fingers, circling around the lion man to see about this heavy armor and its operation.
Raullaur "I could do it with any armor...but why do it with something less than this?" On the other hand, he may well not be a Lunar after all, but of the the Sun's chosen. It is certainly solid, but it does not have a sense of identity as the famous artifacts of yore do.
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Socket... folds her hand back into itself. It would be very rude to mess with his armor. Also, he's enormous and Socket does have some semblance of an instinct for self-preservation. "Yes... I can see how that is an even louder announcement than the one you usually make by being places. Though the normal one is pretty loud, too." She laughs, "But you have... that and the blade, you may certainly understand the draw of finding such places and things! And... well, I'm not really even looking for such wonders, but the... broken complicated ones, mostly..."
Raullaur Raullaur chuckles, "Even such trinkets are kept by my tribe. Perhaps some of the men have a good luck charm or two. But if so, I do not know that they actually do anything..." There is a rippling effect, and the armor vanishes, as if it had not been there at all.
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden First Socket of the Heavenly Garden says, "I... see. Well, for the future. And I'm sure you wind up with many broken things that you may need to have fixed... along with finding the old broken things that I would desire""
Raullaur Raullaur shrugs. "Probably," he says. "And it looks like you are another lf these chosen of the Sun? At least you use the Sun's metal. Am I...correct?"
First Socket of the Heavenly Garden Socket laughs, "I certainly do. And am..." She laughs, "I'm sure you can find me if you come across an opportunity or if you have some need for help building or fixing." She winks, then heads back up to head over to to reclaim her horse, she did have a few other things in mind to do before she was distracted by the presence of the lion man.
Raullaur Raullaur nods. "I...am still new, learning about this. Will want to ask more about what all this /means/ at some point...but until then..."
