Black Pearl The letter came on a delicate piece of paper, tied with a ribbon of blue, and written in the deepest of black inks.

My dearest Amethyst, I have tidings of the family you left behind. If you come to the Chateau of Resplendant Delights, I will be glad to share them with you. Also, I have more of your reagents, if you have more Maiden's Tea to bring, but that is mere business. I look forward to your presence this evening.

Coridally, Black Pearl

And, as always, the Chateau is resplendant. Everything in decorum in the outer areas, though with tantalizing hints and promises of what lies deeper inside. Should she come, Amethsyst is escorted to Black Pearl's office almost in the heart of the Chateau, where the water exalt is sitting at her desc.

Amethyst A still breath drawn as she reads the letter and tucks it away. Closing her shop early and grabbing a bag of various alchemy supplies, she heads off to meet with Black Pearl. Amethyst's heart is racing, and her eyes are clear: She's completely sober, for once. Her ears are down and her other mutations well hidden as she enters and makes her way to Black Pearl.

The young alchemist gives a little bow and looks towards the fellow Sable Dragon. "Hey. I got your letter and plenty of alchemy supplies." She pats her bag and waits but a moment. A nervous breath is drawn as she asks, "So, you found out about my family?"

Black Pearl "Hello, Peleps Yim Ametis. I do indeed have word of your family. Some of your history...and some of your close relatives! It may surprise you." She smiels, "Please, have a seat. I have chilled juice for you, and after, if you want to indulge in anything, let me know and I will take care of your personally."
Amethyst "Peleps..." The alchemist murmurs to herself as she sits down takes another breath. "^You don't mean what I think you mean do, do you? You're not telling me that I'm actually a part of House Peleps."

The young dragon seems lost in thought for a moment, "Peleps Yim Ametis would've been my name if not for my father and the conditions of my birth. I've spent years wonders and idealizing what it might be like back on the Blessed Isle, but I never got to see it for myself. So there's no way, unless you managed to pull something?" Her ears twitch, this mix of excitement and nervousness making her restless.

Black Pearl "Your father was, certainly, and the ledger...my source saw your name in it." She gives a bit of a smile. "The Yim matriarch was...murdered and replaced. And her replacement didn't have enough time to truly alter the Household Ledger before the Wyld Hunt drove the Face-Stealer Anathema away," Black Pearl says. She smiles, and leans forward, "So...you may be stricken if they see what you've done and become, but...you are--technically--of the Dynasts." She smiles, "Would you like me to use that name? Or simply Amethyst?"
Amethyst The alchemist is quiet. Her tattoos cease their shimmering, and with enough of her effort, their glow fades back in the the silver-black of their true colors. "If what you are saying is true, then I've wasted so much of my life trying to make up for something that was never real to begin with... And when I underwent the trial that gave me these tattoos, I abandoned my old name entirely and starting going by Amethyst exclusively, just as my mother wanted. I was preparing to make peace with the fact that if I wanted to be strong I'd need to find ways to do so beyond what my dragon blood would allow me, and just as suddenly I came to find myself as a child of Danaa'd, maybe the only prayer the dragons have actually answered."

"What was I supposed to become, stranded far away from my kin with instructions from one parent to establish myself in Great Forks and with the other one inexplicably missing. I had no one but myself. And so it's a good question, what name do I want to be known by? Yim Amethyst or Peleps Yim Ametis?" She thoughtfully rubs at her face as she considers all of this, her ears remaining drooped.

"What would you do, always admiring the realm and wishing to be part of it, finding that the immaculate philosophy has some pretty big holes and starting to believe something I'm sure would be heretical to most Dynasts, only to discover that you're actually one of them?"

Black Pearl "I would go by the name that gave me the most advantage in public," Black Pearl says. "But never, ever, would I forget who I truly am. And...if I found someone to be...close to...I would share that name with him, with her, with them." She leans closer a bit, "As for the Realm...there are things I believe that might not align with the Immaculate Philosophy. And I can see why people woudl turn against it. I...want the Realm to change. For the better." She reaches out, "Is tehre anything I may do to put you at ease?
Amethyst "It would be nice if we could change it for the better. But right now I don't even know if there will be a realm come next year or if there will be a dozen houses warring with one another. And being of the realm would certainly alienate quite a few of the allies I've gained here. The Dynasty has little power here in Great Forks." Amethyst says, nodding. "It wouldn't be great for me to suddenly align myself with them, especially since I've never even met my family." This logical line of thinking seems to have calmed the worst of her nerves.

"Tell me, what do you know about my family? Is my household actually still out there somewhere? I remember my father told me about the fire that killed us, but is that really true?"

Black Pearl "Your household was annihilated, except for your father, you, and..." Pearl trails off a moment, "Why did you never say you had a brother? A full brother or half? Rumors say, he was your twi. Others say just close in age, but from good stock--unlike your mother."
Amethyst Amethyst looks down, "Damn. So even if I wanted to go to the Isle, who knows who I'd need to talk to. Wait." She looks up, ears middled. "I... have a brother? Close to my age? Is he a Dragon too? Augh, I /need/ to find my mother, I'm sure she would know something. I think we can rule out him being my twin though unless he also has a bunch of fae features. I was born looking more fae than human, or so my mother told me."

Amethyst focuses for a moment, and her mutations come forth. "And so when I went to the wyld with her, she gave me back the form I was born with. But for somewhat obvious reasons I usually don't go around looking like this."

Black Pearl "Does your mother tell the truth? Aren't the fae made of lies trying to negate all of Creation itself?" Pearl looks curiously, "Maybe you were born looking human, and she inflicted this on you for /her/ purposes?" She shrugs slightly, "I have not met your mother, so I cannot say, of course. As for your brother...Peleps Ros Telatur took him him. Is that a name you know?" She smiles, friendly, curious.
Amethyst Amethyst looks uncomfortable and hides her mutations once more. "I know she hid things from me. I know there were ulterior motives to sending me away and limiting the power granted by completely my trials by not completing all of my tattoos. Man, who can I trust?" She rubs her head. "Peleps Ros Telatur... I can't say I know that name. But I already did plan on making a trip to the isle to see it for myself. Maybe if I can find him, I dunno, I feel like it'd be a good step towards something good. At the very least I'd like to meet my own brother."
Black Pearl "Well, we can try to make that happen," Black Pearl says. "And I'll be glad to go with you. I can help you in the Realm...been ther emore recently. Still have my own contacts. If you don't mind traveling with a Cynis, that is."
Amethyst "I'd be glad to have the help of someone who actually knows the place." Amethyst says, and pauses, "...I might know a lot about it, but I imagine what's written in books is quite a bit different from the reality. As for you being Cynis?" She shrugs, "Except for maybe V'neef, I don't really feel much animosity towards any of the houses. Hell this sort of scandal with me having fae blood sounds like something /from/ House Cynis." She chuckles and holds her face, then letting her hands rest on her cheeks.

Finally, the excitement has managed to break through the nervousness and fear, as her ears perk up for the first time this meeting. She's quiet, but the excitement is obvious, "...I'm really going to get to meet my cousins, and I might even get to be called Peleps myself. It might be a good idea if I learned what the Realm is actually like these days before we go though."

Black Pearl "Fair enough," Black Pearl says. "Then, since I know your name, do you want to know mine? Would you keep it secret? Or shall I just be Black Pearl?" The ebon-skinned woman smiles and leans back, lounging, enjoying seeing Amethyst get to be more excited, happy in her presence.
Amethyst The young alchemist considers, ears middling out and her shoulders relaxing. "Hmm, if you wanna share it, I'd like to hear it. But how do I know that /you're/ being truthful with me?" She grins and fishes through her alchemy supplies, grabbing two of some deep, dark, violet vials, offering one to Black Pearl.
Black Pearl "If you're trusting me to tell you the truth with what I found out about your family, why not my name?" Black Pearl takes the vial and smiles, "Thank you," she says. "So if you believe about your family, believe me when I say I'm Cynis Salara." She examines the vial curiously.
Amethyst "Cynis Salara." She nods, "Peleps Yim Ametis and Cynis Salara, we oughta be an interesting pair." Ametis grins, "As for these?" She gestures at the vial, "I'm nearing a variant that can give you essence sight without the side effects. But right now it blends all of your senses together, making it hard to tell sight from taste."

She raises the vial and uncorks it, and the liquid emits a little bolt of essence. "To the sharing of our names?"

Black Pearl Salara takes the vial and uncorks it as well, to lift in toast. "To the sharing of names!" She smiles and pushes it forward to let the vials clink togehter beore taking a drink.
