Raullaur After going over the information Raullaur already had, including places the lions had already scouted, there are a few places left close enough to the major trade routes, but far enough to be hidden that are not already claimed. The forest is lush, with various sounds of nature about. Smells of green an flowers...all seems well and at peace.
Faolan Winter Star After hearing the brief description, Faolan asked Raullaur to come with her as she isn't as great a warriror as some lunars. She has been helping him to move more quietly through the forest and pointing out useful herbs along the way. Fang is following behind them both, almost sulking that someone else is getting any of Faolan's attention.
Raullaur Raul is neither armed nor armored today, and so is easier for him to move...not loudly. Ears and tail occaisionlly twitch though, as he notes the herbs. He nods to the Lunar, and points: "Hill up ahead...good watch place if nothing else...so someone could be there watching us. Follow the stream or go away from it in case they are near it?"
Faolan Winter Star Faolan smiles "Following the stream will allow an easier path, it is the place I would watch. I think we should circle around and see if we cannot come up on them unawares." She starts walking at an angle away from the stream while starting towards the hill.
Raullaur "Makes sense," Raullaur says. "Hopefully they are not running patrols." A chuckle as he follows with a decent eye for terrain. And with endless stamina seeming to not tire at all. There are a couple of trails, more than just game trails, and one could have a rider ob horseback travel on it.
Faolan Winter Star "A good point, I think we will hear the horse before they hear us. Her eyes start to glow a and flash for a moment. She peers ahead and sniffs the air. "I do not smell any horses, the wind could be directing the smell away."
Raullaur There are trails if people, oxen, a couple of horses travelling the path, the last about a week ago. Definitely someone up at the top of the hill.

"If people are around...maybe this is the place mentioned..."

Faolan Winter Star "I can see the markings on the trail of several people traveling the path in the last week. I believe we are close to the location. We should probably be a little more careful moving forward." Faolan continues to scan the trail and the surrounding area for eyes watching back.
Raullaur Raullaur makes his way quietly, paralleling the trail. And soon there are traces of paving, walls ahead...and she xan hear some sounds...language, not talking...chanting?
Faolan Winter Star Faolan touchs Raullaur's arm. "I hear chanting from up ahead. I thought you said it was bandits." She listens for another couple of moments. "The good news is it doesn't sound like spellcasting. Maybe some kind of worship of a god?"
Raullaur Raullaur stills, save for his tail lashing behind and hitting her leg. "No. The scroll the city-folk gave said bandits. Enough is wrong with the scroll, the situation, we know it lies and is a trap. But what sort? Bandits but very dangerous? Cult worshipping gods or demons? Why we are looking." He leans against her, whispering softly.
Faolan Winter Star Faolan smiles wickedly "Of course we are going to find out what's going on. We may need to deal with the thief that sold you the information as well." She rolls her shoulders and shifts into the winter wolf. She starts prowling forward silent as a ghost.
Raullaur Raullaur follows, breathing softly, as the pair get closer. There is a courtyard with a nunber of people going through martial arts forms in unison. Others going by on domestic tasks, and most of them shaven bald. All seem focused on their tasks, for the moment.
Faolan Winter Star Faolan shifts back to her human form and looks at Raullaur. Whispering "This looks to be a martial arts school of some kind. I do not see any bandits. Should we approach them and see what's happening?"
Raullaur Raullaur thinks a moment, then shakes his head. "They are enemies of whomever gave me the scroll, but even if scroll-giver is my enemy, the enemy of my enemy is not necessarily my friend. But if we know this is here, can come back more prepared."
Faolan Winter Star "As my employer, I accept, we should withdraw, do you know others that may be of assistance?" Faolan slowly and carefully starts backing away from the people and the structure.
Raullaur "If we had my warband, I would talk. Otherwise..." Raul thinks a bit, "I know of some who may be able to talk with them. A water-born alchemist. Another," he taps his forehead where his caste mark would shine, "who is very good at talking. And I have heard of another water-born who may have information, but not met her." And he describes Amethyst, Bright, and Pearl.
Faolan Winter Star "You know many of our kind, can we trust the dragons to not betray us? I would be interested to meet them. I will trust them if you say they would not betray us." Faolan smiles, "I would be happy to outsmart the mortals back there."
Raullaur "A number of us trust the alchemist, and they also trust the brothel-owner. I haven"t met her, so cannot say myself." Raullaur says. "I can introduce you to people--glad to--but they are all away on a journey, and I don't know when they come back." The lionman smiles back warmly as well.
Faolan Winter Star Faolan nods, "It appears that you have many friends. I would be glad to meet them as long as you believe it is safe." Faolan keeps scanning the area to ensure they have not been spotted.
Raullaur "For now...a strategic withdrawal, and we can discuss things by a fire with fresh-roasted food." He starts back down the path, looking for a place to slip back into the firests.
