Amethyst The lights have dimmed in the the cabin area, most are fast asleep, but at least one is not.

In the workshop that makes Amethyst's alchemy shop look primitive, her mother sits with a little glowing violet gem, with blues and greens gently pulsing around it, almost like an anima. Various books are next to her, all in old realm and some of them handwritten. She's pouring over them, looking for an answer, searching for an something. What, exactly, one cannot say. Whatever the case, she's consumed by the work she's doing.

Black Pearl Black Pearl had not exhausted herself in combat, and so finds herself unable to sleep. After making sure that Amethyst and Rishi were both well, she walks silently through the cabin towards the workshop. After watching a moment, she knocks politely on the doorframe. "I beg your pardon," she says. "If it is not a bother, I hoped to have a chance to speak."
Amethyst Ashuria looks up to Black Pearl, surprised to see another awake. For a moment she contemplates, and with another moment the gem vanishes and she nods, beckoning Pearl over and pull out a chair for her.

"I suppose. What is it that you would like to discuss?"

Black Pearl Black Pearl comes over and takes the offered seat, and gives a warm smile. "I want to know more about you, and Ametis. To hear the 'why' beyond the 'what'. And it is not simply Black Pearl who asks, but Cynis Rendili Salara," she says, fluently in Old Realm, and proclaiming herself a Dynast.
Amethyst Ashuria is surely surprised to hear another speaking fluent old realm, and switches to that language as well. "A Dynast hmm? How're things going with the Empress gone?" There's a cheeky grin to her. "Has the civil war began yet?" Her voice has no love for Realm or the Dynasty.
Black Pearl "The Houses scheme, but the first to move will be crushed by the others, so no-one moves. Yet. It will happen sooner or later, but not because of any plans, but because something goes wrong and everything goes to Oblivion." She shakes her head. "Honestly, I woudl love...others to be crushed and to end up on top," she says with a faint grin.
Amethyst "Of course you would. Who wouldn't want to be Empress?" Ashuria gives her own faint grin, "But truthfully I'd rather see things shift so the Immaculate Philosphy no longer has a grip over the world. That would be the best change. I couldn't care less who actually establishes themselves as the power."
Black Pearl "Yes, and I have had this discussion with your daughter," Salara says. "For my part, the Empress abandoned my House, so we will find other allies if we can. And if victoriuos, will remember who was for us, and against, and...make appropriate changes. And your daughter believes in my view," she says. "But I wanted to know more...about you. Her." She leans back, "And why you wrought changes on her body and soul?"
Amethyst "What has happened to House Cynis? Did they face some sort of defeat on the scale of House Tepet failing against the Bull of the North?" Ashuria looks very curious, "I know that I am out of touch, but I still think I keep track. Then again, I've been here for a few years now."

"As for why I changed my daughter?" The lady looks at Salara with a side-eye, "Why do you suspect that I have done such things? She came to the wyld knowing full well what sorts of changes it brings upon mind, body, and soul. She bid for power, and even if she obtained it, she lost some part of herself while doing so."

One can /feel/ that Ashuria is hiding something.

Black Pearl "She says that you did," Salara answers back, brushing the status of Cynis off for the moment. "Has memories of being your son, even, though they are faint. And losing part of herself? Or himself? What have you?" She leans forward, "We have come to reclaim what is missing. To...not undo what has been done, but...repair any...mistakes."

There is no anger. But caring, deep cariong, love. Sisterhood, lovers, more. This is what drives her to this.

Amethyst Ashuria is quiet. One can see her weighing her options in her mind. Finally she sighs, "Well, it's good to know her memories weren't completely erased."

"Ametis was once my son, yes. And it is true that Ametis was twisted and warped by my magic. But I swear upon the wyld that I had no intention of harming or distorting. I am not a Raksha, after all."

"If I knew how to fix it, I would have done so ages ago. Damage to one's soul is not an easy thing to fix."

Black Pearl Salara leans back and crosses her arms, watching, and tilting her head. "That is an...interesting claim, but one I accept for now." She crosses her legs as well, bright blue eyes watching steadily. "But so you know...we will be asking tomorrow about how to reclaim what was lost, to make Yim Ametis whole again, if not fully intact. For some things are not reversible, and some things we do not desire to change...." She offers a smile, "I will help keep your secrets, if we may become friends and allies."
Amethyst An entire circle of Exalted has gathered around her daughter, and they're here to see Ametis restored. Ashuria looks thoughtful, her unfocuzed gaze looking behind Salara. She closes her eyes and sighs, holding out her hand. That same little purple gem materializes into her grasp, still pulsing those colors, the same colors of Amethyst's anima.

"Do you know what this is?" She asks, holding up the gem.

Black Pearl "I do not," she admits, "But I would love to find out." Despite being in the air of the workshop, things are humid around the water-caste, and she leans closer. "And I suspect it could be dangerous, if treated improperly."
Amethyst "Raksha exist thanks to, I would call them pacts between themselves and the shinma that anchor all of reality. Through them, they may know love and hate, conflict and peace, to know themselves from those around them. These agreements are sealed through the creation of objects known as Graces, artifacts that form the closest thing Raksha have to souls." She flips through a book and demonstrates with illustrations "At their core is the Heart, representing their identity as separate from the wyld, so they may exist as more than simple chaotic essence flowing and shifting. Attuned to it, you control the Raksha utterly and dominate their will, and if broken, they simply cease to exist."

"It should be impossible for a Creation-Born, such as you and your kin, to have such a thing. Your soul fills much the same role, and thus usually attempts at creating a Heart Grace for a Creation-Born simply result in their souls exploding quite violently. And yet, when I infused my daughter with the power of the wyld, her very being rejected it."

"And instead, I hold here a crystalized part of her soul. I don't know what it is or why it exists, but I fear that if anything were to happen to it, a bad fate may befall my daughter."

Black Pearl Salara leans closer, "If it would hurt her to restore it to her...I offer to hold it. And would give up part of my own soul for her, to be given to her to hold the same way. If it would help her.....I woudl gladly do this," she says, and a hand reaches out, soft, gentle, reverently.
Amethyst "As romantic as that is, I barely understand why this exists. But considering she became a Dragon-Blooded sometime in the last year, perhaps that may explain it." Ashuria says, "If anyone is getting this, it will be Ametis herself. I had been waiting for my daughter to become strong enough to carry it herself. Considering that she's here with an entire circle of Exalted, I'd say she's done something right." The Dreamer is very protective of her daughter, and it seems she does not yet trust Salara enough to hold this. "I am sorry."
Black Pearl "She is one of the premier alchemists in Great Forks, which is where I met her," Salara says. "And she wants to go back to the Realm, find a brother...who has apparently also Exalted." She smiles a bit, "There, I'll be guarding her, help with things." And she nods at the soul being protected, and doesn't press the issue. "What...do you hope for from this? What do you want for your daughter? What would bring you joy?"
Amethyst "Seeing my daughter's soul back in one piece would be a good start. And I'd like her to have the power to shape her own future." Ashuria says, "Rather than being defined by the world around her, I hope that she has the chance to be Yim Ametis without needing to hide among the wyld as I do. That is all."
Black Pearl "She is not hiding, but she is not...truly...Yim Ametis, either. She thinks of herself as Amethyst. I don't know if she really knows who Yim Ametis is, but I have been trying to help her discover it." Salara smiles slightly, then shakes her head. "You left her changed and changing, and so she sought to try to be one of the moon-chosen, tried to be them with all of her might. Ability. Instead of embracing her heritage. If I had not come...I don't know that she would seek to be of Danaa'd at all. But now, she is trying to be /herself/. Not try to be of the moon. Or sun. Or even water...at my request. She is learning what she wants for herself. And I am glad to be part of it."
Amethyst "Well it is unsurprising she would be so lost, though I would have thought her father would have given her at least /some/ guidance." Ahsuria considers, "He's always been good about that before. But it's unsurprising that she doesn't know what she wants to be, considering a great deal of what made her, her, is locked away in this gem."

"As far as the name Amethyst, it was at her fathers insistence that we named her Ametis instead. But I always preferred the name Amethyst."

Black Pearl "He...most of the Yims....were killed. She barely escaped," Salara says. "We hope to find out more when we return to the Realm, but that could lead to...catastrophe in a number of ways." A deep inhaled breath, and then slowly relaxing it. "But that is the future. For now...I look forward to her being...whole again. Getting to know her entirely." A warm smile then as she leans closer, "And I am enjoying getting to know you more as well." A faint laugh,"I could probably talk all night, if you let me, but that would be rude...and I suspect we are /all/ curious about the people here, and will get to know you better. For now...is there anything you would know of, or ask of me?"
Amethyst "It would be a miracle of you did not have a wyld hunt sent to claim your lives if you were to return to the isle with this retinue." Ashuria says simply. "And he very much survived the attack on our household yes, that is how Ametis herself made it out. Are you saying that he's vanished since then?"

"And a question for you? How did the empress betray you and your house? I'm very curious. And what on earth is a good Dynast like you running around with a lot that would be considered anathema by any normal Dynast."

Black Pearl "Ametis knows, since we are Oathsisters, part of the same hearth," Salara answers. "It...is worth my life, as well as hers, for you to know it, and I....I do not know how far I can trust you with that yet." She looks saddened. "Trust takes time, you to trust me with your daughter, and me to trust you with my family."
Amethyst Ashuria is surprised, but closes her eyes and nods all the same. "I understand. Trust indeed does take time. Perhaps once matters are settled here in Elderloch I could come to Great Forks myself. But that's a story for a different night."

"I'm going to spend the rest of this night pouring over my notes I've taken to find a potential solution to restore Amethyst's soul." She says, "You should probably get some sleep. You and yours will have a long day tomorrow, I'm sure."

Black Pearl Salara stands and walks over t her, offering hands as a gesture of intimacy, as family might part from one aother, to simply clasp, or embrace. "Then I will let you be, and I look forward to seeing everyone in the morning. I wish you well, Yim Ashuria, and...am courting your daughter. So that you know it from me first before any other."
Amethyst Ashuria clasps the hand and nods, grinning, and giggling just a little, "So you're a mischevious one then, hmm? I bet your husband would be quite shocked to hear about this. Then again, I doubt you're particularly close to them or the Realm anyway."
Black Pearl "Ah, but I have no husband...I, we..." She blushes, "If Ametis were male, from time to time...and she expressed interest in it...well, I would be having your grandshildren." A delighted smile escapes, and then she giggles, "But really, I should go back to sleep."
Amethyst One can see her expression change from a mischevious grin to a more solemn smile. "Ah, I see." Ashuria gives a little nod, "Have a good rest, Cynis Salara."
Black Pearl "And you, Yim Ametis. Be well, and thank you for your hospitality. I truly appreciate it," and then the water exalt slides back to her rooms to sleep.
