Amethyst It's been a while since either Black Pearl or Amethyst have been seen or heard from. They didn't eat dinner, they didn't go to sleep that night, they haven't been to breakfast and Amethyst hasn't shown up to help with the efforts in making the portal. One must wonder what has happened to them.
Bright Journey In truth, Bright Jouney didn't know anything was wrong at first. Ammy not eating dinner? Okay, unusual, but maybe she had some ideas on the portal. Didn't go to sleep? Bright wasn't exactly doing bed checks. She'd say it's because Amethyst is an adult and it's not Bright's business, but what she'd mean is Ammy has Rishi around (and maybe Pearl at this point? Sheesh.) and it's REALLY not Bright's business!

Not showing up for breakfast, though...that would get Bright worried. Are there supposed to be no more assassins? Sure. Will Princess Maana get smote by Heaven if she did anything? Indubitably. But that doesn't stop some people, and Bright hadn't had time to really learn plenty about the woman before things happened.

So during breakfast Bright would have been asking several people if they'd seen Amethyst. She would not ask about Black Pearl immediately, however...instead, her attempts to ask people anything at breakfast were basically useless--no one knew anything. When she arrives at the lab to work on the portal, Amethyst -still- isn't there. Not good. Fortunately, Bright is not without options.

Bright Journey In truth, Bright hasn't actually spent all that time putting her sorcery into practical use. It's mostly been theory up to this point, but when ones theory of the workings of sorcery involve harnessing and controlling the interactions between people, it's trivial to try to speak to someone from leagues away. Trying to convince them to contact her back, or better yet show up at the lab, is also something Bright tries for as her words shape into being a tiny, impossibly fast six-winged messenger spirit. She forms it almost immediately, and it rockets off to find Amethyst and deliver its all important missive.
Black Pearl Also missing is Black Pearl. Nowhere to be seen, at breakfast or anywhere since that previous night. No trace of her, mystic or otherwise. Of course, she's supposed to blend into the water, the darkness, and so it is not necessarily unexpected. Unless she's already gone off to the fae armies?
Amethyst The messenger goes and heads off, heading not up towards the surface but deeper into the city's 'underground'. Amethyst is eccentric and it would not have been the first time she stayed up all night and skipped breakfast to continue a train of thought that ultimately leads her to faceplant onto her notes, but it's really weird that she's not even working on the portal. It's not like her to up and vanish without telling anyone where she went. Wherever she is, the messenger surely finds her, but there's no reply.

Then again, does she even know that spell?

Bright Journey Bright sighs deeply, blowing a lock of hair out of her eyes as she looks out past the lab into the water. What to do? Black Pearl isn't here either, nor is Rishi. Did all of them decide to pull an all-nighter? Silk is surely asleep--it's the middle of the night for her, here in the morning. Bright knows all about Silk's nocturnal schedule, and unless there really -is- a fire trying to wake the Night Caste up is liable to get her a whack on the noggin from that staff.

So, after giving it a good ten minutes or so, there's no Messenger coming back. Bright isn't sure if Amethyst knows the spell, but still, it's hard to sit there and wait without knowing. So instead, Bright steps out the door, looks around, and considers how much she might know about where Amethyst might be. Perhaps her mother would know some of her hiding places...?

Bright heads back to Amethyst's mother's lab both to see if she's there and to check in on Amethyst's old room. Just in case.

Amethyst "No sign of her?" First words out of Yim Ashuria's mouth upon seeing Bright, almost like she expected Amethyst to be well and truly missing. "Well, she's not in here. But I can think of a few places to check. She always liked to run off and hide away when something was bothering her. Maybe she's still mad at me..." Ammie's mother sighs, but doesn't elaborate.
Bright Journey Bright sighs and nods in understanding. "Well, I know there's something going on there, I admit, though I don't really know the details. And they're not my business. But I didn't see anything that might have made that worse, and it hadn't stopped her from showing up to work on things before. We'll see. But first, let's talk where she might have gone. I know this was her childhood home, but she had to have other places, and you said you knew of some. If you could tell me how to get to them I would be grateful."
Amethyst "The first place is the room that she found on the next level down and made that her 'real' room. I wonder if she still believes I don't know about it. Other than that, she had a knack for finding wondering and finding maintanence areas and hiding away in those." Ashuria explains, "Other than that she might be top side spending my-, er, her money on useless things she doesn't need."

And of course she gives actual directions to these places, using her magic to produce a map of the city and its various levels with those spots marked.

Bright Journey "Hrm," Bright responds, looking thoughtfully at the map. "I should learn this spell, too, that would be neat. But when I sent my Infallible Messenger, it went pretty sharply downwards. Umm...hm. Roughly in...this direction." She points towards the floor after thinking a moment. "Not sure how exact that would be, since the Messenger might not have been moving as the crow flies. But it was definitely downwards."

Bright gives Ashuria a grin. "I'm not sure I know its finances too well, of course, but surely she's told you she runs a successful business, right? Money isn't that much of an object for her. I know you two have your differences of opinion, but it was what you taught her as an alchemist that made her a success in Great Forks. I can personally vouch for a few of her products, for that matter."

Bright returns to considering the map. "Her room one level down is a real possibility, though. Any other possible places before I take my leave?"

Amethyst "It's less a spell and a manifestation of the powers of the dream-souled." Ashuria explains, "We can just... make stuff out of thin air. It's technically illusory, but for a map it gets the point across."

"As for down?" She looks all the way at the bottom, "Oh gods almighty please don't tell me she went /there/ with her soul gem..."

Bright Journey Bright snaps her fingers. "Shucks, knew it was too good to be true. Maybe I'll figure it out on my own someday." She frowns. "Not now, though. Have to finish this to work on that project to work on my own personal project..." She chuckles. "I'm sure you know what I mean.

"So, when you say a place you just call "there", with something called a Soul Gem..." Bright eyes the bottom of the map. "I don't pretend to know the details, and frankly I don't have the time necessary to chat with you about them. Either they're not there and this is moot, or they -are- there and time is of the essence. Black Pearl wasn't seen this morning, either, and while I trust her less--the whole Immaculate thing--she has Amethyst's trust. And Silk's for that matter. If something may have happened perhaps it affected both of them. Rishi, too. I'm less surprised if Rishi is a bit late to the portal work but at this point better safe than sorry."

Bright looks into Ashuria's eyes. "Perhaps you should tell me where this place is?"

Amethyst Ashuria stares Bright in the eyes, and there's something in her eyes. Pain? Fear? Regret? It's hard to say. Finally she relents and nods. "You have to go all the way down the penultimate level, and then there's a spot where you'll go down and come up. Once upon a time a security field would be there, but that's long ago broken. Check her room, it'll be on the way, and if she's not there get to that place immediately. I'll explain what I mean once my daughter is safe."
Rishi The door to the workshop slams open and Rishi rushes in, her silver coated form as immaculately beautiful as ever, save for the worried expression on her face. "Are they being here? I went to attend to some patients and then could not be finding them to be having the food and I have been searching the everywhere since!"
Bright Journey Bright and Ashuria are both looking at a map Ashuria has conjured, and they're both looking sober and concerned. Bright looks up, a bit of relief on her face.

"Well, I'm glad to see you here, Rishi. That's one worry out of the way. Do you mean Amethyst and Black Pearl? Did you see them last night? Earlier this morning? I admit I was about to go look for them, but you might know something I don't..."

Amethyst Ashuria gives a polite nod to Rishi. "I'm afraid the only ones in here are myself and Bright here." She also has a worried and pained expression on her face.
Rishi Rishi says "I ...thought they might been needing some time to be thinking and talking." Her face falls. "I am ...being worried they are not trusting me." She tries to put on a brave face. "So, I am giving them the space last night, to be checking on the people here, now that I am knowing more about this assassin disease. But when I am going looking for them this morning I am not finding them the anywhere. You have not the seeing of them?"
Bright Journey "No, we haven't," Bright replies. She frowns again, scratching the back of her head and looking at the map. "Where and when was this, though? It's important so we know where we need to check. Were they in Amethyst's other room, one level down? Or was it somewhere else? You might have been the last person to see them, so please, help us out."

Bright gestures to the map Ashuria has created. "Take a look at this. Can you tell us where they were?"

Amethyst Ashuria expands the map a bit so that the details can be easier pointed out, but otherwise stays silent as the two exalted discuss where her daughter might be.
Rishi She frowns as she looks at the map, brow furrowed in worry. "I am thinking they were heading for this, her secret lab here, when I last had the seeing of them." She looks at Bright. "Are you having any of the ideas where they are being? If not, then I am thinking we should be heading there and I will be trying to be tracking them."
Bright Journey Shaking her head, Bright frowns once more at the map, then looks to Rishi and Ashuria. "If I knew where to go, I won't have come here at all. I'm assuming you had already checked this secret lab, but we now have three places to visit. Tell you what, Rishi...you come with me. Ashuria, can you do us a favor, please? Perhaps they'll come back here or to the portal lab while we are gone. Is there any way you can have someone keep an eye out there in case they come back?"

"I think it's time we left."

Amethyst "My gut tells me they're here." Ashuria says, pointing at the very bottom of the map, the center of the lowest level. "I'll keep an eye out and have someone sent to the lab to keep an eye out there. I'll let you know if I find anything. Let me know if you find her."
Rishi Rishi nods to both of them. "Then let us be checking this place first." She points at the bottom of the map, and then lifts Bright into a princess carry and rushes out the door!
Once outside, she flexes her wings and lifts them both up into the water to swim to the place at the bottom via the most direct means possible!
Amethyst Through the halls and down the now-meaningless stairways the pair makes their way to the very bottom of the great city. What Ashuria did not say is what this chamber /is/.

And it's a large chamber, with the conduits for the essence all over the place and going everywhere, connecting to what used to be six pedastels, one made of each element of jade and one made of some unknown prismatic metal. Also notable that this chamber is not flooded like most of the rest of the city.

And in the center of these pedastels, are the pair of Dragons. At first glance it's a bit hard to tell them apart, having very similar patterns of colors on their scales, stripes of violet and black going through them. But given Amethyst's smaller size and her pointy ears (and Salara's normal ears) it becomes obvious who's who. Curiously, Amethyst has the collar Black Pearl usually wears on her neck, and Black Pearl herself has the hearthstone that goes into that necklace in her hand.

Both are obviously unconscious, but with no apparent injury. And they are both breathing, slowly and steadily.

Bright Journey Well. THAT was not the swimming journey Bright had been expecting.

At the whirlwind clip they were going, Bright looks a bit green and a bit dizzy, stumbling forward a step and catching herself on one of the walls as Rishi finally slows down. Bright lets out a long exhale as she looks around.

"Well. Isn't this place interesting? I can see why she didn't want to tell me about it at...first..." Bright's voice trails off when she sees Amethyst and Black Pearl. She lets out a quiet curse, then hurries up to the pair of them.

"Rishi, they're here. And I need a hand from you! C'mon."

As she kneels down over Black Pearl, letting Rishi fuss over her girlfriend first, Bright furrows her brow and thinks.

What went on here?!

Rishi Rishi immidiately leaps forward to check on them, Ammy first, taking their vitals and trying to determine if they're ok and how to awaken them. She opens her senses to the mysterious as she does so, trying to see what they were doing as she carefully goes into medic mode, to avoid panicking.
"What happened here?" she mutters as she works on them both.
Black Pearl Black Pearl is lying unconscious, scales and fins showing, but the patterns are interesting, how black and purple fade into each other, swirling. As she's worked on, she gives a groan, a noise of something, and eyes open. Those electric blue eyes, now with a prismatic aura around them. She looks, almost bewildered, before looking over to her hearthmate and says, "Salara!" A blink, then she shakes her head, "No, I'm Salara..." She loks up at the Solar and Lunar, eyes wide, questioning. "...Right?"
Amethyst Stirred by the presence of the others, Amethyst stirs. Her silvery dark blue tattoos slowly beginning to glow again. She stirs and groans, turning over and trying to get comfortable on the stone before finally realizing that she's not in a bed. "Ugh, my head." She says slowly coming to her senses. "You're Salara I'm Ametis." She sounds half asleep. Given that her tattoos are still very dim, she probably /is/ still half asleep.
Bright Journey Bright gives Rishi a rather worried look, but says nothing about it immediately. Instead, she just looks down at Black Pearl, rearranging the young woman into a more comfortable posture if possible, and offers her a wan sort of smile. "I think you're Salara, right? You're certainly not Amethyst. Just calm down and relax as best you can. You look fine to me, but I will let Rishi make that call--I know when I'm not the expert. Nice eyes, by the way." Bright's own eyes, quite prismatic themselves, slowly shift colors as she gives Pearl a quick but inconclusive once-over.
Rishi She checks them both over using the full extent of her abilities, all her senses awake and her brilliant mind churning away as she examines them both closely. Her caste mark appears as she works, then her anima, her shadow appearing in it's watery light.
When Ammy wakes up, Rishi considers for a moment, then gives Ammy a serious slap across the face. Given that her hand is covered in metal right now, it probably hurt a fair amount. "Never be scaring me like that ever again!" She's crying. "If you are not trusting me to be helping with these things ...fine, but you should at least be telling me when you are going to be doing something stupid!" she yells as she hugs Ammy and Pearly.
Amethyst The slap clearly wakes Amethyst up fully as her tattoos flare to life. But everyone can /feel/ the pressure of her sorcery coming to life as she gets up. The water at the edge of the room ripples under her pressure, as a dampness fills the room. "Ok first thing's that I just woke up from... something. Mind's a bit hazy on what exactly happened but coming and slapping me first thing is a bit much." Amethyst grabs her own face.

"Listen, Rish, I love you, but I'm fine and I, trusting, what? Salara just came and talked to me and things happened and we ended up here. I'll, I'll explain later when my head's less foggy." The pressure backs down and Amethyst calm.

"You know I trust you, my love." She says in flametongue. "But if you want to be involved with me more, just be a little less overprotective, hmm?" She finally returns the hug and leans against Rishi.

Black Pearl Black Pearl feels the slap and shakes her head. "Don't hit us!" She blinks. "'Us'? It wasn't even me?" The flametongue sounds gibberish, but some sense of it gets through. Still, she shakes her head. "Rishi...I..we..." She licks her lips and swallows, still not in control of her mutations, her markings, as she leans into the hug. "That was...thank you for helping us, but that was ill done. Please...I know you were scared. But that /hurts/. Not just the physical pain, but...it hurts the soul."
Rishi Rishi also switches to her native language "You Did Soul Surgery without any other Sorcerers to help in case anything went wrong! You did *something* to Pearly that may have broken her soul!"
listening to Ammy talk and then to Pearly, she frowns. "It's possible that Raksha did more to Pearly than we thought and she got you both down here for evil purposes. In which case I will be eating her later, oath or not."

She gives them both another hug. "For now, you are all coming back with me for much more extensive examinations. And if you are leaving me out again, I will be eating you. And not in the fun way." Given her expression that last part was almost certainly a joke.
Black Pearl "Hear me now, and believe what I say, or call me a liar and sever the bonds of trust between us," Salara says, obviously irked. "What happened was done by us--Ametis and Salara--no-one else. We each talked with each other, and she tried to help me...come to terms with what happened. And then, well...we came here, and I lent her my collar so she could try the soulstone. Perhaps foolhardy, but...it was us. /No/ fae influence." Her csales shift towards red with anger, prismatic eyes gleaming.

And then she slumps and relaxes. Scales fading back towards black, as she shakes her head. "I...I'm sorry. I am still...I don't know who, what, I am anymore..."

Amethyst "I did not intend on doing soul surgery! I intended on recovering my lost memories." Ametis fires back, this time in riverspeak. "And I have now. Salara got herself in the vortex of swirling chaos that was around me, that's probably why she's also a bit... different." Amethyst looks concerned for her oathsister. "I'm not exactly sure what happened between us, but I also don't think it was necessarily bad whatever it was. If you'd been here you might've just gotten caught up in it too."

Amethyst's own scales begin turning violet again, but that only reveals that she /does/ look different, and so does Salara. The two of the look like actual sisters now, which is probably also concerning.

Rishi Rishi slumps a bit, and hugs Pearly. Switching back to riverspeak, she says "It is being fine. You are hardly being the first person to be having the trouble knowing the who you are. The wyld is making it the worse, but do not be worrying. We will be making sure that you are getting to be who you are and you are being happy with that before we are being done. I have much of the experience in this." She gives the other woman a reassuring smile.
