Rishi Interspersed in all the work being done to ready and protect Elderloch from the Raksha, people still need to eat. As ssuch, Rishi has gotten a side room set up with a lovely meal where she and Ammy can sit and eat together and talk privately. Of course, getting Ammy to break away from whatever she was doing to join her, may have required a fair amount of effort on its own.
Amethyst Fortunately, even alchemists who are routinely falling asleep at their workbench still need to eat from time to time. No spider demons required to convince her to finally come and sit and eat with Rishi and talk about the things that need talking about. It helps that Rishi's food tends to be really good. "So uh, is this the part where you grill me about risking my existence?"
Rishi Rishi tilts her head to the side, hair flowing across her back like a silken waterfall, as she considers. "I am still being concerned about that, but... I am being much more of the calm now. I think it is being better if we are trying to be talking about this like the two friends."
Rishi reaches across the table and takes Ammy's hand and, while her expression is composed, her eyes are deep pools of concern. "And I am being the worried about you. This is not being the first of the times where you have gone most deeply into the danger without the help or the preparation. So... Is there being anything I can do to be helping?"
Amethyst "It's... not like I try it." Amethyst says, ears drooping. And remembering Rishi's native tongue, she switches to Flametongue, "I /want/ to be safe and sound. And to be fair, I haven't ever risked myself this much before. Injuries are one thing, but I damn well could've destroyed my soul and I know it. That would've been an end to not just this lifetime but all of the lifetimes that might come after this."

And then she grins, "Maybe if we both die some horrible death we can find each other in some other life. Though I won't be a dragon anymore."

Rishi Rishi also switches to Firetongue, before she scoots around the table to pull Ammy into a hug. "And I can't promise my future self would care for you like I do." she says as she enfolds Ammy with her wings.
"...I just wish that you would ask me to join you when you do these things." Rishi slumps a little. "Having met your mother... Well, I think maybe I understand why you called me overprotective." Rishi looks down. "And...I am. Protective. Nearly everything I've learned how to do with my essence is focused on healing or protecting, others or myself. But." She looks at Ammy. "I don't want to stop you doing anything. I never want to cage you." she smirks "I'm certainly not going to try to send you to your room."

She takes Ammy's hands in hers and cups Ammy's face with her other hands, looking her in the eyes. "I just....want to be by your side. To be a shield between you and danger. A Partner who helps lift you up higher. Because you are an amazing person who has done amazing things and I want to see you continue to do them."
Amethyst "Mine either. A lot changes when we reincarnate." Amethyst says, giggling and hugging. "But it's a nice thought. 'Cause despite all of us, despite everything, I'm pretty sure I won't live to even see my hundredth year. And even if we do get lucky, you'll out live me by a lot."

"For me? I've focused my essence towards going above and beyond what I can do, what I /should/ be able to do. Danaa'd is the patron of breaking from one's limitations and doing the utterly impossible." She explains.

"And my father wasn't anymore protective than my mother, when he was around. He often was up in the scavenger lands going and finding artifacts and lore and trouble. But he did teach me all I know about fighting and defending myself. And everything I've done has all been in the name of trying to make something of myself, to redeem myself, bastard child of an exiled Dynast. I wanted to go back and prove to the board that I deserved to be part of the House. Now? I just want to build a future where me and you and the others don't need to hide our true selves."

"As for helping me? Just stay by my side, make sure I don't bite off more than I can chew with my sorcery and maaaaybe give me a bit of room and don't threaten me with spider demons. I don't think I'll ever do something as stupid as I did with my soul gem, at least, not without help." She takes a hand and gently lays it on Rishi's cheek.

Rishi Rishi pulls her into another hug. "No promises about the demons. You don't always listen to me that well and that tells you I'm serious. But I'll try to do better about giving you room." she says, as she squeezes Ammy in a hug with all four arms and enfolds her in wings.
"Anything I can do to help create this future, you know I'll give. But we'll probably both die along the way. If we don't...there are stories of Sorcers living forever. And I am, first and foremost, a Healer." There's a look in her eyes. "Do not be chasing death nor expecting it."

	 Meanwhile, Saturn shivers slightly.
Amethyst "Maybe I can find some way to become immortal." Amethyst half-heartedly suggests, squeezing tightly, "Anything could happen if we could actually get the help of one of the elemental dragons. Or who knows what else."

"As for death?" She grins and sends ripples shivering through the water as she focuses her sorcery, "Death will need to pry my breath from my broken hands. This is the first and probably only time I'll ever get to be a Dragon-Blooded, and I don't intend on dying anytime soon."

Rishi Rishi smiles. "Once we have finished the portal, we can start working on how best to keep you from dying. I think that, if Frosty and I share our essence and our lives with you and Pearly, it should be enough. The connection you and Frosty forged, if I could forge a similar one with Pearly... I think we could all force it further open and send our life essence through, keeping you young and hale for many centuries."
"But that is for later. For now..." She looks a bit chasened. "I need to follow my own advice. I have been working on something for awhile now, but it is important enough and complicated enough that I should get another sorcerer to check it over. And, as I'm going to be using Elderloch water as a basis, I can't think of anyone more qualified than you to check my work." She hands over a tube with a number of sheets of fish leather parchment in it.
Amethyst "There's also Age-Staving Cordial. I'd just need to either make deals with the Realm or the Guild to assemble the reagents I'd need to make it. Oh and find the recipe somewhere." Amethyst muses, "But yes, that's for later. For now, hmm." She goes and takes a look at the tube and looks at the parchments. "What exactly are you trying to do, my dear?"
Rishi "This is going to be the Font of the Goddess of Changing Waters." She grimaces. "It is ...not exactly a lie. The temple in Great Forks are worshipping the One Who is Many, in one of their guises. They Chose me and I am using that blessing to ...pass on a blessing to those who need it. While I dislike concealing the ...extra steps, it is still a holy blessing form the one they believe in and worship." She bows slightly, clasping two hands over her heart. "I must be certain I am doing it correctly."
Based on a quick skim of the notes, it seems that Rishi is trying to make a vial of water which, once poured into this fountain, will unleash a complex Working. Forever more, anyone who bathes in this fountain will be given the body they desire.
Amethyst "This is far from the first time I've done workings to change one's body. Just as my mom who used her powers to reshape me into this." Amethyst says, gesturing at herself.

"And then I wonder, what would it do to someone like me who has no firm idea of what they want to be like?" Amethyst asks. "I could take many forms, I took this one because I liked its utility, but I don't really know what sort of shape would be /mine/."

Rishi Rishi headtilts, hrming. "That is a good point. The worshippers at this place...I do not think they would bathe in the fountain without a firm desire in mind, a yearning for the true body they want. But, I have certainly given people their new bodies and then had to make many futher changes afterward." she hrms again. "Do you think I should try to make it more ...concious? Let the bather decide on their new shape, rather than simply trying to pluck it from their mind? Or would that just make it worse?"
Amethyst "Well, why don't we setup some experiments?" Amethyst suggests. "I know if something goes wrong you could always fix things with me. But we could maybe use my own uncertainty to help calibrate it?"

"It sounds kinda dangerous but you'll be managing things so it'll be alright, yeah?"

Rishi Rishi hrms, then nods, taking Ammy's hand. "I can definitely return you to how you are now, so there should be little danger. It may take me a little while to temporarily enchant a few pools to test this with. I think I'll also summon a Neomah. Tying one into the pool... their judgement as to what a person desires might well serve better than leaving the decision up to the pool." She hrms again. "I think I might go catch a few small animals to test with as well."
Amethyst "That's fine. I do have a portal to help build and we still got a city to defend." Amethyst grins. "But it should be fun to help you figure things out."

"For now? Let's just relax a little. We'll need all our strength whenever this city does get attacked. And we'll need to be there after Pearly comes back from her mission. Something tells me she's just going to fall apart once she has a chance to breath."

Rishi Rishi gives Ammy another hug. "Of course. I just hope she'll let us catch her when she does collapse. Even if I didn't care for her, I still owe her alot for everything she's been teaching me." A rather salacious grin crosses Rishi's face, before she sobers. "Once she does collapse, I think it might be wise for the three of us to all go away for a few days, where none of us have anything we have to do. Where she can just rest and I can tend to her, if she so desires. I can summon a few minor demon servants and my Pavilion and we can simply relax."
Amethyst "A vacation sounds amazing. Things have been crazy." Amethyst says, "And you'll get to know the real me a bit better." She noseboops Rishi. "Thus far you've only known half the Amethyst. Now you'll get to see all of her!"

"...I just hope all of Pearly is still there. That'd be really sad if I became whole and she was broken in my place."

Rishi Rishi smiles back at Ammy. "I'll hold you to that." before sobering again. "It is a complicated question. Pearly ...she doesn't regret saving you and there is some ...damage there. She is a different person now. ...But then we are all different people than we once were. We change and grow. Once she is ready... I very much look forward to doing all that I can to help her become one with who she is now."
"She is ...quite strong and I think she will recover well with time and help. Even if it doesn't always seem like it."
Amethyst Amethyst nods, "And I'll be right along side with you doing what I can. I think all three of us need to have a nice sit down and figure stuff out between us sometime soon." She says, "Right now I just wanna relax and eat. I'm straving." She chuckles and starts into her mostly untouched food.
