Amethyst The water is calm, lights of Elderloch flickering and pulsing as they do, the ragged breaths of an ancient ship of wonder long wrecked and forgotten. Along the outskirts are numerous rocky outcrops, perfect for hiding and waiting. Some larger ones have towers built into them for spotting and feeling the shifting of distant water. And finally a few small towers built onto Elderloch itself. Each are manned by some manner of scout, each searching and waiting.

But Ashuria was pretty confident they'd just barrel straight for Elderloch, Glorious is not known for his tactics. And it's noted Pearl will be somewhere with the enemy, she's gone deep undercover to subvert them from the inside out. But one can only pray that she was successful.

Black Pearl In her guise as True Talon, Black Pearl flows with the invading army. All orders given. Everyone ready. Though not a warrior herself, she is on the second echelon--not too close to Glorious, so she will hopefully be away from any anger, but leading troops including a bit of an honor guard around her. Two weeks, but she is still herself, and she looks at the city walls with great anticipation.
Silk Moon Lotus Silk has found a wonderful spot to hide in the hull of the wrecked ship. The shadows playing across her allowing her to meld into them and become one with them. She settles in with her fighting claws extended.
Bright Journey It's barely been a day or two since Bright and Rishi returned from Great Forks, their mission to prepare their end of the new portal as successful as they can make it, without an actual working portal to reveal the results of their work. Still, Bright at least got something vaguely resembling a night's sleep and is floating alongside the others, armor worn and bow in her left hand.

It's the quiet before the storm. Everyone knows what's coming....but much like the fae army in front of them, this time they have had time to prepare, both mentally and physically.

The gift of gab might not work too terribly well here, but that's not the only arrow in Bright's quiver.

Amethyst Amethyst and her mother are on reserve, away from the rest of the group and focused on patrolling the city itself. Just because Ashuria's pretty sure Glorious will attack head on doesn't mean she's leaving anything to chance. And she's all but insisted that her daughter stay with her. They'll respond if anyone gets passed the Solars and Lunars that are on the front line.
Rishi While one might expect Rishi to be futher back, with the healers and doctors, she has elected to claim one of the tall towers at the edge of the city. Clothed only in the moonsilver sheathing her body, her golden necklace shines in elegant counterpoint. Her hair is kept up and back in a long braid, seaweed running through it. She carries her satchel full of potions and plants...as well as an elegantly carved wooden box, that looks like a chess or other game box, though one wonders when she expects to have time for that.
Amethyst The invading army marches with a steady pace, synchronized and drilled, though not as well as if Vain had been able to continue his work. Glorious is already boasting about how victory before they've even arrived. And slowly, at first it's just some disturbance in the water, but soon the army appears, red scales glistening against the pale lights of Elderloch proper. The army is numbered in the hundreds, each with spears and simple rations and not much else. Behind them are the fae officers personally loyal to Glorious, and Pearl who's flanked by her own officials and an honor guard, presumably bearing Vain's sigil.

An alarm is sounded by one of Elderloch's scouts, a warning rings through the city. The invaders have been spotted, and they are coming.

Bright Journey As the enemy Fae army approaches, Bright's expression turns grim, then with her lips pressed firmly together, she gets a look of transcendent determination. Brows furrowed, grip tight on her bow, the Eclipse Caste swims out into view of the opposing fae army. Her voice echoes for leagues in every direction, clearly audible to every person in Elderloch, every single soldier in the army. It might even penetrate Glorious' thick skull.

"Invading warriors, HEAR ME!" Bright Journey shouts into the sea. "You have been told time and again how numerous you are, how potent, how strong your leader. But your leader knows of we Chosen here! He knows what we are capable of! And most importantly, he knows that he can only live if YOU stand between him and our daiklaves and powerbows! You are but shields, stepping stones to his ambition. Look to your left! Look to your right! Look on the faces of those you are hoping will be slaughtered instead of yourself when our Essence erupts! How many of you are willing to take the chance that it won't be YOU first?"

Bright Journey may not have fired her powerbow yet, but make no mistake: The first volley has nevertheless just been fired.

Silk Moon Lotus Silk smiles at the glorious speech her friend has just delivered. She slowly scans the enemy formation looking for Glorious. She waits patiently to see what effect Bright's power has on the army's morale. She is ready to strike from the shadows and end the threat once and for all.
Black Pearl It echoes with what they have been told by Truel Talon the past weeks: Glorious doesn't care about them. Vain did, but Glorious put him in prison where he died. And until he appointed a new Seneschal, everything had gone from bad to worse.

Vain had cared. True Talon cares. How can they stand against the power in front of them? Isn't that their general's job? Wouldn't it be glorious for Glorious to be out front?

Silk Moon Lotus Silk springs into action the moment she sees her target. She moves from shadow to shadow and strikes out a Glorious from within his own shadow.
Silk Moon Lotus Silks blades bite repeatedly into Glorious's shadow. The shadow rears back and strikes him with the shadow of his own weapon. After the blade stroke razor wired chains coil around his neck and starts to choke him. The murderous glint in Silk's eyes tell him that she has come for his soul.
Bright Journey After Bright's intimidating speech, it would have been -nice- for the entire army to have just run away screaming. She didn't manage that, not exactly...but they're certainly shaken, at the very least.

Good enough. Now, Bright thinks to herself, it's time. Time to truly make a difference....time to back up her threatening words with action.

Bright pulls out an arrow and nocks it, and as she levels off, one eye squinted as she lines up her shot, a familiar silvery glow encompasses the arrow. Nightbane, making it clear to the Fae what it thinks of them.

Amethyst A hiss and a raging roar radiators from Glorious, a malestrom of color and tearing void surround him as she gazes in Silk's steely eyes. "You demon will never have me, or my court. You will not touch me anymore!" And with that, his diaklave moves through the water, tearing through it like rending reality itself as it comes crashing towards Silk.
Black Pearl This is it. Battle has been joined, and now it's time to make things more grossly unfair. "Retreat!" True Talon shoults, giving the commands to her subordinates. To pull back away, to leave Glorious unprotected. Get them out of there, so they will not interfere with...anything.
Rishi "Silk, yes! ...oh-no..." Rishi hrms, then says quietly "Silk will not be liking this." In a louder voice she proclaims, "Sigereth, Awaken! Be calling forth your army to oppose the one arrayed against us! It is Time for Battle!"
The "wooden box" sitting upon the parapet in front of her gives a feminine chuckle, before opening out into a vast array of strangely organic looking shaped velvet drawers containing game pieces which leap out from the trays ...landing with a loud bass thump upon the sea floor as ten foot tall stone automata.

The pieces keep coming until, seemingly in the blink of an eye, Glorious's army is matched in numbers by an electic set of giant playing pieces. "At the begining of a match, both sides have equal numbers. You want things to be *fair* after all." The voice from the box drips with distain when she says the word fair.
Amethyst Glorious' blade sings in delight as he chuckles, looming over Silk and savoring the moment. "This will be your--" And then he hears a call for retreat and turns to pay attention to the battle he's supposed to be orchestrating. "I'll deal with you later."

Calling out as full volume, his voice rings over the water, "Brothers in arms, men of bronze and prowess, this is but a cheap trick meant to lure us away! We must not falter against them. You think I am a coward or afraid of these beasts? I will show you why my name is Glorious."

And finally he charges into the line, the twisted void around dancing with his blade. Silk has been left all alone.

Rishi Rishi says "Be calling forth your servitor and direct the battle as you are seeing fit, though you must be allowing any of the wounded or the fleeing opposing soldiers to be leaving. I shall be down there to be helping the fighting." And she shoves off from the tower, her legs seamlessly merging into a single fish-like tail as yet more fins grow from her back and arms.
As she swims forwards, her powerful tail pumping, she chants, pulling out clumps of seaweed and eating them, as her hands grow larger and tangled with kelp..before powerful thorns sprout from the mass as she now bears the Wood Dragon Claws!
Amethyst Slowly and steadily, seeing the courage of their general, even as he fails to make a dent in the statues, follows behind him, bringing them closer to the pawns.
Rishi "Of course my Mistress." An automaton comes from the shadows and picks up the box. There is a sense of holding her breath for a moment or perhaps of a virtuouso preparing to play. Then she speaks a series of rapid fire commands and her army begins to move.
Silk Moon Lotus Silk shakes her head to clear it from the blow from Glorious. She is a little suprised that he did not choose to finish her off. A mistake she will ensure he regrets.
She assess's her situation and decides that moving to cover is the best option at this time. She pulls at the strands of shadows around her and wraps herself in them moving to shadow Glorious but not engage with him again, not yet. She will wait for her moment to strike.
