Raullaur The Eastern quarter has much of the barracks and the like, but with the recent military losses, many of them stand empty, or have raw recuirts and thugs in them. One, though, stands out because it is neat and orderly...and because a large contingent of lionmen is there. Apparently a barbarian tribe is playing at being mercenaries--is it one of the Luna's Chosen? Descendents of one of them? In any event, the hustle and bustle of actual training, while others go out to patrol city streets, is a vast difference from most of the rest.
Tepet Makara Although Makara has wandered Great Forks for some time, he hasn't visited this section of the city of the divine yet for he is interested in seeing the mercenary's military prowess here. However, something plagues his mind far more recently as he received strange nightmarish visions that are not certainly the product of another drunkard dream. "damn, most of these barracks seem empty." Makara would notice the grounds are mostly empty which disappoints him, until he sees the contingent of lionmen which surprises him due to their standards being on par with the Realm legions.

Even if he is dressed in a uniform that may bring misunderstandings for it's heraldry signifies he is "the Prince Of The Earth", the false dragon approaches their camp since he is curious if their ruler is another of Luna's chosen

Faolan Winter Star Faolan has been wandering Great Forks getting to know the city. She has decided that it was time to stop in a visit her friend Raullaur and his company.
Raullaur As the Legionnaire approaches, the wentries watch, alertly, and one of them makes a signal because soon one who is larger and stronger than the others comes out, dressed in simple cream-colored linen and leather. Golden slitted eyes look around curiously and his eyes narrow at the sight, but still he comes out and nods to Makara. In the language of the Rivers, though with a bit of an odd accent, he speaks, "Greetings. What brings you here?" Questioning, though not necessarily friendly, not necessarily unfriendly either.

When he sees Faolan, then he gives a courteous nod and muzzle pulls back in a bit of a smile. "Hello there. It's been too long since we met!"4

Tepet Makara "Just admiring your forces's organization since I am an officer myself" Makara says as he admires the beastmen mercenary being well organized. "Sorry to disrupt anything important with my visit but I am Tepet Makara, dragon of water" He would give the lionman a nod however he would notice there is another visitor like himself but it seems the mercenary leader is already familiar with them.
Faolan Winter Star Faolan smiles broadly for her friend. "You did say I could come by whenever I felt like it. This seemed like a good time."
She turns to the legionaire after finally noticing him. "Well met sir." she says with a smile. She looks over at Raullaur "Moving up in the world that you get visits from a Prince of the Earth." She nods approvingly.
Raullaur "Training. Tactics. Supply. I have the first two. Give me the third, and I'll work wonders," he says with a chuckle. "Don't think your troops'd let me train 'em, though. ANd if they won't learn, doesn't matter what I do. After all you won't let me eat them." He grins and shows very sharp teeth. "Tepet Makara, this is Faolan Winter Star, who hails from far to the North."
Tepet Makara "ah I see, nice to meet you too Faolan. I used to be assigned to the North until Futile Blood happened which destroyed my former legion" Makara introduces himself to the stranger with a smile. He would chuckle for a bit once the lionman mentions eating his troops. "I admit some of my troops are decent but nothing outstanding especially since most of them are Cynis soldiers and most of their activities usually revolve around the defense of Greyfalls. It can be a bit boring due to it being repetitive and nothing much to do"
Faolan Winter Star Curious about this prince of the earth, Faolan starts studying him. "I understand perfectly, Raullaur's troops are very good at what they do and are often underestimated due to being beastmen. I myself have worked with him as a scout sometimes."
Tepet Makara "for me underestimation is more of an advantage mostly to fool enemies on your true capabilities." Even if it's a beastman army, Makara views them equally capable when it comes to battle like the most elite troops of the Realm could offer. "hmm, what resulted in you becoming a mercenary in Great Forks?"
Raullaur "If you want to hire us, well...there are some contracts I will not take. And we command a high price as well." Raul's tailtip flicks behind him and ears go back in his mane. "And Faolan is a /good/ scout...taught my troops a thing or two, especially about humility." He chuckles a bit. "And, well, when I was undergoing a trial of adulthood, Guild slavers kidnapped most of my tribe. I gathered the rest and we went after them, killing the band and liberating the rest. But since we cannot hold the lands of the savannahs to the southewat, we must fight and grow powerful enough to claim by blood and arms, or jade and silver, a home for the clan. Safety is what we rave, and here...here there is much to do."
Tepet Makara Tepet Makara says, "ah the Guild bastards? as equally repulsive like the Ragara bastards in the Blessed Isle" Besides House Sesus, Makara views the Ragaras with contempt especially since they took his house's satrapy such as Pneuma. "I hope you eventually reach your goal in retaking your homeland" Makara would view the goal as a righteous cause

Even if he is awake, the "prince of the earth" seems unwell. "sorry if I speak in a more tired manner, I have been experiencing nightmares recently that I couldn't sleep much"

"

Faolan Winter Star Faolan smiles at her friend. "Thank you, they just needed to learn that stealth is a scout's ally. They are much better for it." She gives Tepet Makara a quizical look as though she is trying to figure something out. "Nightmares are never good. Have you tried taking something to help you sleep? I know there is another of the Dragon-Blooded in the city that specializes in alchemical reagents and such. Perhaps she could provide you with something? I myself have no skill in such things." Her multicolored eyes appear to swirl a little faster.
Raullaur "You need more and better booze, then," Raullaur rumbles. "Maybe someone to warm your bed and keep your mind off things. Helps most soldiers, I found." He chuckles at that, "Just nothing more than beer and liquor. More than that...it's hard to break free."
Tepet Makara "an alchemist? I hope they could help. Most of my dreams are either following an obscured figure with the sun's mark into the Underworld, fleeing something in a mountain and seeing something with the light of the moon but in a malefic manner" Makara would shrug it off as meaningless, well most of it as it may be connected whether he knows it or not.
Faolan Winter Star "I have heard many good things about the alchemist. I have not met her myself yet. Your dreams sound pretty accurate. I mean the solars and the lunars are corrupted monsters and should not be taken lightly. Is there a person here in the city that knows how to decipher dreams?"
Tepet Makara "yeah.....solars and lunars are all anathema monster" He says while he is nothing more than a false dragon but Faolan could clearly see the truth slowly boiling in the surface. "I am not a shikari though and this city being overflown with exigents mean they are outnumbered. I maybe a prince of the Earth, but I am not foolish enough to take all of them alone"
Faolan Winter Star Faolan watchs Makara's body language very carefully. When they mention being a Dragon-blood, there is a shift in the way he stands and his eyes move subtlely. Faolan is certain that he is not a prince of the earth. She drops her voice so that only Makara can hear her "I feel like there is something you are holding back. I understand that we have just met and you have no reason to tell me anything that you don't want to. I'm very good at reading people'ssocial cues. You are telling me two different things. One with your words and another with your body language. I apologize for being so blunt."
Tepet Makara Even with his practice of deception, Makara is an amateur compared to other exalts. He sweats visibly as giving the secret to the wrong person may lead to him being hunted down. "Holding back? I am not hiding something or anything. I know we are both strangers to others, but I cannot allow important info being revealed especially since I am an officer of the Realm" In order to see if she is worthy of knowing the secret, he would ask a question. "I know many people in the East dislike the Realm especially with them being invaded once but, what are your opinions on the empire? Do not worry, even if it's negative I won't be mad...at all"
Faolan Winter Star Faolan smiles and nods here head. "I have no love nor hatred for the Realm in general. The village that I am from was attacked by the Fae. I was not there when it happened. I rallied some nearby help in the form of a local lunar and counterattacked. We were able to free my people but not drive off the fae. I look for allies to help me take back my village." A hint of the rage she feels towards the fae glows briefly in her eyes. "If the Realm would bother to help those of us that are not close to the blessed isle, I would think more of them. They are nothing more than a far away nation to me."
Tepet Makara "I see you have a neutral stance on the Realm. I myself am mixed on the topic although during my legionnaire days, I was blindly loyal. My House's fortune has been rend asunder by other houses and they stole our satrapies. The other houses only gave us one infamous legion but I am glad Ejava is improving things. Now to satisfy your curiousity, promise to never tell this secret that you want to pry from me" Makara would sigh in anticipation as he awaits her reaction to reveal what he really is.
Faolan Winter Star Faolan nods her head. "I am not in the business of selling secrets. I would rather gather a strong group of allies to help me reclaim my home. If you would like a little more privacy, we can take a walk in the camp so we are not overheard."
Tepet Makara "sure, I'll tell it while we are walking" Once they are outside the camps and into the empty parts where there are no eavesdroppers, he would finally spill on what he really is once they reach the spot. "Well like what I said, I really am a dragon..well a venomous dragon wreathed in moonsilver with the full moon's gleam" Even if it's a metaphor, it is clear what Makara means.
Faolan Winter Star Faolan chuckles at the description. She gesture to the reinforced buff jacket she's wearing. The moonsilver plates making themselves a little more obvious. "I am not a dragon. I am a wolf who hunts under the many phases of the moon. Well met brother."
Tepet Makara "Ah, another chosen of Luna is in my midst besides me and a changing moon. I have meet others in Great Forks here as well. I had to keep posing as a dragon blood especially since my work in Greyfalls require me to and the members of my House are unaware of what I really am." Makara would be relieved that the one he was talking to was also a Lunar.
Faolan Winter Star "As you can see, your secret is safe with me. To betray you would eventually lead to myself being outed. Then I would have to find a new face to wear and I am attached to this one. I have met several other kindred souls. I have not met all of them in the area as there are many who call Great Forks home. I assure you that I will not tell anyone without your permission. The alchemist is said to be an ally of solars and lunars. She may be able to help with our dreams."
Tepet Makara "a dragonblood who works with both solars and lunars? I don't have to pretend to be a dragonblood when I meet them and hopefully they could decipher my dreams" He would say with a smile as he is glad to meet another chosen of luna. "I plan to visit them soon when I have the time and I wonder if my dreams do hold portents"
Faolan Winter Star Faolan nods "Best of luck to you with her. I must be on my way. My familiar is probably upset that I left him alone so long. Until we meet again." Faolan walks off towards the docks and her room.
