Raullaur The streets are packed, as usual, what with celebrations for three of the city's /many/ gods going on in the street. And of course, the crush of people leads to some bolder thieves trying to pickpocket the likely, with varying degrees of success.

One such who wasn't quite unnoticed is running pall mall down one of the streets, dodging through crowds, looking for anything resembling safety.

Tiziri Walking through the crowds is another. A young woman with a spear whose blade is covered by a leather sheathe and peacebonded, and whose hair is braided and has feathers in it. She looks to be ambling along almost like she's drunk or exhausted. Maybe even both. A silly grin on her face too. All the while, the thief is starting to run towards her and Ardent Vagabond ends up looking right at it with an odd sort of gaze, listening, studying...
Raullaur Human--at least human-looking--young, and desperate, dressed in clean, if old, clothes, and face expressionless--focusing completly on trying to get away. A ways behind, there's a pair of lions trying to forge through the crowd--though their size works against them. And at a glance, neither are the warlord--looking rather more human, and not as large as he was.
Tiziri And the spearwoman with feathers in her hair? She's pretty tiny. Barely more than five feet tall to begin with a slender build as well. Good for navigating crowds already. Yet there's something else that Tiziri has that's pretty good for stopping things even with the sheathe on the blade. After all, a spear without a working blade is still a functional staff! As the thief gets close she's suddenly taking up a solid stance and preparing to suddenly press the spear in the way of said outlaw!
Raullaur The thief yelps as the spearwoman is suddenly blocking his way, and tries to backpedal, but merely ends up coming to a halt, unable to get to either side. Eyes dart around, but the crowd is starting to turn and watch how this plays out.
Tiziri "Just give it back, and maybe, just maybe, they'll let you go." Tiziri says in a languid, definitely sounding half drunk, tone. "Don't ruin your life over it. That's just stupid." She says. Her stance still looking almost relaxed, but ready to move in a very predatory fashion.
Raullaur The thief's eyes go wide, but he doesn't faint, or freeze. Instead, after a second, he shouts, "Catch!" and tossess the purse of coins at the blue-haired lady. ANd then tries to bolt to his right.
Tiziri Ardent Vagabond is fast. Graceful, and fast. She uses her body and one arm and hand to help keep the spear between the thief and escape, and catches the other as well. At least tries to!
Raullaur He thought he could get away, instead, he trips over the end of the spear, and goes sprawling in the street to the laughter of, well, quite a number of people watching this, while the coin purse neatly drops into your hand.

"Ow! I was trying to get away, and left it behind! Why'd you have to stop me?!"

Tiziri The young woman quickly plants the butt of her spear and her foot on top of the thief as she says "I'm not sure that's what you stole in the first place. For all I knew this could be nothing but dirt." Ardent Vagabond says in that same lazy sort of tone. Just how did she do that? It was definitely quick, and she made it look easy.
Raullaur "Take a look, all right?" The prone thief is a bit more scared. "It's what he had, and I don't have anythin--" He breaks off as the pair of lions finally catch up.

"Where is it? GIVE IT BACK!" A deep roar as the beastman's face is in a snarl.

"She has it!" Pointing now at Vagabond.

Tiziri $E$RThrowing the coins to the lions, and showing no fear at all, Tiziri looks down at the thief. "Seems you're mostly in luck. Don't mess up again, just find something more legit, take this as a warning, there's always a bigger fish in the sea." There's a certain darkness to her words too. She isn't letting the kid go yet though. Then looking towards the beastmen. "I trust that was it? Got it back." She languidly says. "And we've scared the kid to death, so probably let him go." Down to him. "You're done with this now, right? If you need to eat I'll give you a coin. But you're done with it?"
Lin "Kid... you don goofed here. Badly." Comes a voice from just a bit further down the street. There stands Lin in her work attire, rising from a very strange and abstract-looking carved statue. Its geometry is a bit of a headache to look at but it DOES draw the eye to the temple-storefront it's outside of...

She tucks away a chisel that looks remarkably clean and pristine and rises to her feet. Rising, she turns to look in the direction of Raullaur's men and the spearwoman... doesn't seem surprised to see either of them even though she hadn't turned to look and see who it was...?

"Hey, don't just let him run off! Put him to work or something!"

Raullaur The younger lion nods grumpily, and the older one swats the back of his head. "You let him let it off you in the first place! You know the rules!" The first one pulls his lip into a bit of a snral but digs into the pouch and comes up with a bit of silver. "There ya go, kid. But don't try it again."

The seond nods to Vagabond as well, "Yeah, we're done. Ane he's learned a lesson." He sounds slightly amused.

The kid himself is staring at the coin, but gulps and swallows. "I'm done," he assures them, earnestly. "Please,I just want to get out. And now someone else joining in as well as the crowd which is mostly dispersing as the street theater seems to have run its course. "I was /trying/ to work and get coin for th' bosses, ya know? But now I jus' got t'one!"

Tiziri There's a bit of a flourish as the young woman removes her foot and spear from the boy, and then reaches down to help him up as well. "OK, seriously. Take the warning, you got lucky today. Anyone trying to make you hurt others to get it is not the right employer. Buy a meal, sign up with a caravan, or a restaurant, something." She says sincerely, looking straight at him with a dire, if sympathetic expression. Her smile gets darker too, "And if whomever keeps trying to make you? Well, talk to me, or them. I'll wager things change quickly." Then she looks over towards Lin, "Oh, hey." Tiziri seems to be a lot more slow spoken today, tired, drunk, or both.
Lin Lin steps away from the statue (really, who the heck comissioned such a thing anyways) towards the gathering, fixing the kid with a hard-look, but also a shark-like grin at the words he just spoke. "Oh. So you're not some rat looking to pilfer for basic needs. Someone's put you up to this? They got anything on 'ya, kid?"

She gives Tiziri a quick nod of acknowledgement and then points out, "Something tells me we just stumbled across something interesting..."

Raullaur "They took me in an' done right by me. I should jus' head out? Ya want me t'stab 'em inna back like that?" He thinks a moment, "But hell, I got made. I'll gotta tell 'em, an' they'll kick me out anyways." He shakes his head, "Guess I gotta find somethin' new t'do," he says, looking dejected.
Tiziri "Someone who wants you to steal from others and threaten you for failure never cared to begin with." Ardent Vagabond says back to the boy. Starting to lean against her spear as she stands there, still as much between the boy and the Lionmen as anyone. She looks at Lin then too, nodding. "No surprise, sadly. Lot of this in Creation."
Lin "Well as long as one's ready to do some good honest work, I've got plenty of that to go around. Either way I've got a personal beef with anyone who'd put you in a situatio0n like this..." She turns to look over at the Vagabond and rather quickly barks out, "Wouldn't exactly call myself a warrior, but I'm pretty sure I can handle the things that walk these streets. But it always helps to not go it alone..."
Tiziri "There's very few here I'd be worried about." Tiziri says, there's a confidence to her languid tone right now. A very real confidence at that, if a sad one. "But it's honestly something hard to deal with. Especially alone, or in small groups. You'd really need an entire nation devoted to purging such things to stop it."
