Fudou the Mountain Who knew that finding the perfect battle ground could be so involved and require so much thought and care? Such seems to be the case for one so called 'Fudou the Mountain', who has spent days now exploring the outskirts of Great Forks in search of just the right location for a little test of brawn and might that may ...prove just a tad bit much for doing in the city proper itself. There's no need in getting The Three and the citizens of Great Forks up in arms over the antics of THe Chosen after all and what he has in mind is..a little more then a brawl in the center of the arena.

And so he searches, flying overhead in the form of a great hawk and scouring the roads and fields of the region with the keen eyes of said form in an effort to find something..suitable.

The eventual sight of a small structure out in these fields catches his interests and he circles overhead in a lazy pattern as he studies it from the aerial vantage point. Small. Flimsy. Possibly easily broken. But he's been flying for some time now and it may serve as a place to rest while he considers the sites he has discovered.

Misa Sitting along the riverbank with a sort of old-timey air about it, the shrine building is... indeed, nothing really to write home about. There's not even really a proper shrine anymore, so much as an emptied out structure with three small rooms in the back behind a more open one used for indoor practice. The stone platform it rests on provides a somewhat larger practice space, sheltered from the river breezes by a short wall with a few open window-like openings. And finally, a worn-down natural-ground area provides the largest training space, with a few racks of wood-and-reed practice swords of a few different styles present.

The apparent proprietor is present, thankfully. She sits in the midst of the stone platform, at the center of a patterned section of the stone depicting an Old Realm symbol for the cycle of water through Creation. Eyes closed but ears alert, she seems to be... meditating? Or something like it. To either side of her is a sheathed short blade, while in front of her is a longer, curved sword also in its scabbard, with a curious floral pattern to the guard.

Fudou the Mountain SHe woudl have heard the sounds of nature as it should be. The flap of nearby wings. Large enough to be a bird of prey. Then nothing. Then a sudden rumble of both the ground and a deep bass voice of familiar cadence and affable delivery:

"Well! It seems that you were telling the truth. Is this the place you train your many, many students to send them out into Creation to spread your style far and wide?"

Fudou is there where he was certainly not there before. Certainly not a giant of his size could have easily snuck in and snuck out but the transformative nature of the Lunar Exalted do lend themselves to these sudden appearences.

He stands near the structure but facing the stream and the seated Misa, vast arms folded across his torso as he leans forward slightly to peer towards her, "..Hello again."

Misa As Fudou makes himself known, Misa's eyes open. She glances down at the sword before her, and there's a flash of disappointment in the grey of her eyes before she refocuses on the approaching giant.

"Good afternoon," she answers, although it might be hard to hear. She's soft-spoken and while not especially large, the platform is not small either.

"If I were a person with students, certainly this would be that place. As it happens, it seems everyone who stops by would rather do battle than learn it, by whatever twist of fate. I am not sure what to make of the idea that I am of more interest to masters than aspirants? Perhaps I am simply not... as one might say, 'showy' enough." She shrugs it off, pushing herself to her feet and picking up the curved blade as she walks to the edge of the platform.

"What brings you to my abode on this particular day?"

Fudou the Mountain "Come now, luv. Let's cut to the chase. Masters are intersted in you because you represent a challenge. I know of the rumors of you having ruffled the feathers of the various dojo masters in the city. It's good for them! Maybe bad for you if you're just looking to teach but now you've got folk wanting to see what you're capable of!"

He rubs his jaw, thinking and letting a slow smile crease his features, "Are you surprised? As to me? Oooh.. Well I think my whole investigation into the Shadowlands glow-up yielded me the answers I was looking for but it led to more questions, a brawl, and now I have a giantess of sorts wanting a piece of me..and not in the way I'd initally prefer! So..I'm looking for a nice little site to..settle her down some."

Misa "Oh, I have a variety of reasons to do what I am doing, and I am not complaining of the masters, just finding it... curious. Especially the regularity of the capability thereof." Misa shrugs, stowing the slashing blade through the sashes around her waist on her right hand side absently.

"You are looking for... a location to fight this woman? Is there not an arena in Great Forks? Large though you are- and I assume she is, given you of all people are calling her giant... I believe that arena is designed for large group battles. It should be sufficient for those purposes, no? Perhaps there is some element of this you are not quite adding here."

Fudou the Mountain "Oh she's smaller then me but still quite larger then you." notes Fudou quickly, "However the arena..we tried that. Things got a little..strange."

Coming from a man that compares favorably with the small shrine in terms of his size..the word 'strange' might be..well..strange.

"Green fire..and a dark mark on her forhead. Something strange. Something dangerous. Something I did not want to encourage in the middle of the arena and in the middle of the city mm>"

Fudou lets that linger abit and then adds, "And I understand there may be others like her about. Odd these happenings. Coupled with ones of such talent finding you and..well..maybe the company that you keep."

Misa There's a pause from Misa, and a slow sigh as she pinches the bridge of her nose a moment. "I am increasingly convinced I may be the single worst detective in the history of keeping secrets," she mumbles, mostly to herself, before straightening back up and looking over Fudou a moment.

"Then again, you are not... precisely subtle yourself. I presume, then, you are familiar with the woman who helped me escape my homeland upon my exaltation, given your own nature?" she questions, perhaps with a little less patience than a moment ago but not quite outright upset.

Fudou the Mountain The giant lingers his gaze over Misa's weapons. He looks thoughtful and then finally says, "I have done subtle from time to time. Subtle is boring to me. I'm just not built for it!"

He looks over the dojo thoughtfully and then continues, "I have not met her personally but I have heard, yes. I have some familiarity but only through rumor and reputation." Fudou looks towards Misa, "Great Forks is attractive to the mighty and for good reason. It is both a sanctuary and a sort of staging ground unlike many other parts of Creation. It should be no surprised that like will attract like just as iron sharpens iron."

Misa Another pause from the woman, and she shakes her head a little. "About as subtle as suddenly appearing from birds, I imagine. Though I do wonder at times if I would be better off... away from Great Forks. Away from all these powerful people keeping it safe and risk free. More to be gained from embracing the dangers the Realm presents, I suspect."

She shrugs that off for the moment, exhaling slowly. "So am I to take that you simply saw a familiar face and decided to stop, or that you wish to use the open grounds for this apparent duel of yours?"

Fudou the Mountain The huge man belts out a rough loud laugh at that last part.

"Not unless you want your dojo and home flattened to rubble and pebbles in the few blinks of an eye!" THe very notion seems to give Fudou great amusement in clear contrast to Misa's more reserved and cautious nature.

"No, no.. I was curious and wanted to rest and then I saw you and so decided to bother you."

He crouches down, leaning forward abit to rest his elbows against his bent knees as he peers at her and then slowly grins again, "..Appearing from birds.. You saw that, eh? I guess there's no fooling you then, mm? That and I am a little sloppy. C'mon now luv, what could you possibly learn more out there then youc an glean here? You -need- to be among more like yourself. To push you. To show you what's possible beyond just running and ducking and hiding and occaisonally fighting unfortunante Wyld Hunts. Use this time while you have it."

Misa "You appeared shortly after a bird twice. Pattern recognition is something of a hallmark of my other profession," says Misa dryly, head shaking with that. "Although, to be clear. I said nothing about running, ducking, or hiding. I quite specifically meant fighting. If you know of whom rescued me, you may know a thing or two about the relevant philosophy."

She pauses at that, turning and peering through one of the openings in the windbreak of a wall surrounding this small 'courtyard'. "Have you considered simply crossing the river here? I believe it is open plain and coast along the greater river for some while to the west of here."

Fudou the Mountain "You did not say anything about running and hiding, this is true. I...have heard similar from others though. THere is concern that some activity may be attracting a wyld hunt but ....I think the matter more complicated then being so cut and dry."

fudou looks past her to study the open plain adn then he rubs his jaw, "I have a place in mind, I think. I will probably go with it but it is, as you pointed out, beyond the river."

He straightens up slowly and then notes with an absent wave of his arm, "What about you then? What will you do? Do you -really- want to attract students or are you not simply looking for a duel to properly satisfy you and push you? What do you -really- want?"

Misa "Quite the inquisitive man for a second conversation," notes Misa dryly, a vague smirk tugging at one corner of her mouth. She shakes her head slightly.

"I could give a number of explanations to that question, but I could sum a few into a simple statement- I simply wish to improve to the best I can personally be. And there is much to be learned in that way, both from challenging others, and from life and death situations. Even from teaching, should the occasion arise. Though I doubt I will be quite the accelerated trainer that might be certain leonine persons around Great Forks proper."

Fudou the Mountain "I'm nosey." explains Fudou with a growing grin, "And I can be forthcoming with information if asked. Maybe I like gossip. Maybe I like stirring up trouble. Maybe I like keeping an eye out on certain someones for their own sake and the sake of those around them. There are several here in Great Forks I"fe found reason to keep an eye on. I want to know what you're going to do. How Creation is going to change."

He considers matters abit and then says, "Ah..certain Leonine persons. You mean Raullaur yes? AT least I figure. How many can there be?"

Misa "At least as many as he brought with him from farther east," Misa points out, smirking a little at that.

"Truth be told I do not believe any of us can predict the outcomes of what we do. All I know is I will continue to practice, and likely fight, and those fights will inevitably enact some form of change in the world. Part of me thinks that with the Realm losing stability, perhaps so too ought places like Lookshy and Prasad, but I suppose I have some reasons to have a mixed opinion on those matters."

Fudou the Mountain "Predict the outcome..."

Fudou grows oddly quiet at that and then frowns lightly before asking, ".,.Have you heard of the Chosen of Fate? Meddlers? Ones who seem to skirt memory and recollection? They appear and disappear and have designs and intersts in ones such as ourselves?"

He seems unsettled by this and then says, "The idea of predicting outcomes or at least manipulating matters to suit a particular outcome seems to be the business of fate.."

Misa "I have heard a thing or two- from a mutual acquaintance, in fact," Misa notes, shifting her stance back to Fudou entirely after her glance out over the water.

"But if they had full dominion over the results of actions, the rest of us would likely not need to... be. Or be at all, if Tiziri's stance on their intentions is to be believed. I never put a great deal of stock in fate, and less so since taking the second breath, much as I may make the odd comment to the effect."

Fudou the Mountain "Tiziri has cause to be concerned, given her story about her past experiences. She's had more run ins with the Wyld Hunt then..some of us.." notes Fudou after a long moment of looking at Misa in thought.

"But I think she's somewhat...jumpy. If that is not the right word then perhaps near to it. Overly cautious might be better. I think that she is right to be guarded but she may be ascribing too much power to these Chosen of Fate where those like us are concerned. That being said, the fact that our memory and ability to recall them is so easily and readily effected is not a small thing. It means that if they did want to work against us they could do so and we'd never be able to track them down or see it coming."

Misa "If it helps, I exalted in the middle of a Terrestrial power base, not ten feet from a woman renowned for her glory earned in such hunts," says Misa dryly- and perhaps ruefully? Even bitterly, somewhere in amongst her tone?

"And if it further helps, usually if someone is causing too much of a problem I simply put a stop to the problem in no uncertain or impermanent fashion. So, by said logic, perhaps I have already done so and simply forgotten. Not that the forgetting is not distressing, but... we are not yet deceased, so."

Fudou the Mountain "Well I only brought it up in case you didn't know about it." notes Fudou, though he can't help but have a wry smile at Misa's confidence and surety, "Your logic holds. I"ve no memory of an attempt on my life by someone I can't recall but it just stands to reason that you should be aware and it seems you are."
