Whirling Grain The Ochre Leaves tea house is ordinarily a picture of serenity and relaxation. Well, I mean, obviously, it's a place where you go to get smashed, 'tea' is seldom served unadulterated-- but it's the kind of place you go to show that you have money and want to get smashed right. Because this is Nexus, and the civic religion is less the immaculate faith than it is conspicuous consumption. You come in, the hostess greets you and shows you to a low table in a privately screened area, and then pours beverages and offers various substances and services. Servants offer figs and other sumptuous foodstuffs, as a troubador plays traditional songs softly in the background.
Um.
Usually.

That...
Would not be the way things were going to go tonight.
Tolon Tolon isn't usually the tea house type. Relaxed and serene aren't common for Tolon, restrained, stoic even cold can all be said to fit the man, but rarely serene. He allows himself to be led to a seat and orders one of the unadulterated teas. He seems to be watching the room with a much more wary eye than he would the dives and thieves dens he's spent many of his nights.
Whirling Grain Three words were banned from Exalted in its initial development to help establish tone. "King," "Wizard" and "Inn." Hence, rulers became 'Satrap' 'Prince' or 'Trikhan'; weilders of great power became 'Sorcerors'. And places of public accomodation? Well, 'Tea House' stretches a bit further. In this case, it's enough that Tolon is somebody, right? A chief among the Kete and a mighty warrior of the eastern steppe. It's where people would tell somebody like that to go, when they're new in nexus anyhow.
"Yeah, can we just clear this out of here? This one too, we're going to need a little more room here." A southern accented voice drips honey even as it seems to fluster the staff into removing partitions between patrons and dining sections.
Tolon Tolon watches with interest, he steps out of the way as they open up his area. He looks to the staff as they bustle around him. "Why all the commotion?" He turns his attention to Whirling Grain. "Mind if I ask what we need the room for? Drinking rarely takes up much space."
Whirling Grain It's... honestly a little weird when she grins, because it's like the world lights up a little. "Yeah, this is about the entertainment. Honestly, ah need to get someone to handle th' details (Where has Orchid wandered off to, anyhow?)" she glances around, as if trying to find someone. "Anyhow, y'all enjoy your tea, try not to overindulge-- you're going to want to remember this one." She punctuates this with a wink.
Tolon Tolon smiles back with geniune pleasure. "Entertainment? That has a good ring to it." He takes a sip of his tea. "I haven't overindulged in a long time. Still, this may well make the night much more interesting. I had thought it would be a dull night."
Whirling Grain "Yeah, jus' hol' right there a second." She holds up a waiting finger, wandering off as the somewhat befuddled staff finish being cajoled into removing the partitions. The head host seems to be coming over to investigate the confusion, as this is not in according to plan-- the gig is simple, you sit in the corner and slowly strum a sanxian or something. Before she got over, Whirling Grain had pulled out her lyre and bow and jumped onto one of the low floor-tables.
