Seeker Esilea is out in the fields. Their small group of freed slaves have worked well together to build this little hamlet. The wind blows casting her hair into her face. She slides it behind her ear as she stands with a basket of root vegetables.

But she drops it.

A group of riders broke from the tree line. Their horses running full throttle into the field. Esilea screams for everyone to get to the hamlet. People look up. Some pause from shock, others from fear. Some start running.

Oko Oko sits high in a tree. His job today is guard on the eastern side. He smiles as he holds a trinket given to him by Esilea. Her scent is still on it. He hears a small comotion from the hamlets direction. They had recently freed a group of slaves. They tend to be roudy for a few days after release.

But then the horn blows.

'That's not celebration,' Oko thinks as he drops the 10 yards to the ground and begins running to the sounds. He wished he was gifted in speed at this moment. 'Where was Esilea working today,' he tries to remember where she might be.

Seeker The horse riders continue to encroach on the hamlet. Their riders roping in those they ride by. Stopping to secure them. The others continue on.

With out training and proper weapons, the villagers are captured one by one. Esilea lays on a pile of others, tied together. Shaken. Scared. Back to the life she thought she left.

Finding a sharp rock she cuts her heal. She smears the blood on the ground. She can only hope now that Oko will follow it.

Oko By the time Oko reaches the far side of the hamlet the raid is done. Those taken have been pulled back to the woods. Quickly searching those still present, he realizes Esilea is not with them. "Fuck!" he shouts grabbing his head as he paces.

Looking around for those least affected, he starts giving orders. "You, get me the names of those missing!" "You and you, we will check the field for anyone left and check on the West side guard." Given something to do, these people jumped on the opportunity to not have to think.

Out in the field, Oko eventualy finds the spot the captured were congregated at. He finds the blood stain and sniffs it hard. 'That's Esilea's blood,' he mumbles and begins sniffing the air. Another man runs up and sadly proclaims "Jorsh is dead. Arrow to the head."

Oko nods. "You, return to the hamlet. Help the people. I have a trail to follow." The other man nods and heads back to the hamlet. Oko looks into the trees and starts walking forward.
