Raullaur When a powerful neighbor mobilizes, it is only prudent to take note and watch, so that there are no misunderstandings. And that is why Raullaur has stationed many of his men--leonine and human both--along the North bank of the Yellow River going towards Theris, and he himself has come out to see the various happenings, getting reports now and again, and then sending off replies, tail slowly flicking with suppressed irritation.
Fudou the Mountain A large falcon descends after having circled over head for some time. It seems fairly ordinary, all things considered. Just another part of the background fauna so disturbed by the movements and activities of The Lion General's troops.

It ultimately alights upon a tree branch overlooking where the irritated general stands and looks out over the area. For awhile, the bird remains there. Motionless and strangely studious and seemignly uncaring of any that might take note of its presence as it watches the large lion man.

Deryl Laklan Even after the ordeal in that Shogunate successor state was over, Deryl heard concerns about an Eastern empire poised to reconquer and take the rest of the Hundred Kingdoms. However he has his own concerns especially regarding Iron Simhata and it's Envoy that was his ally in bringing down the deathknight creator of the tower. He was very displeased to hear she was a deathknight and manipulated him in the name of her unknown master, however Deryl realized he gave her leverage thanks to a secret he revealed in a moment of weakness and she may use it against him if he were to ever turn against her

But currently, he is travelling alongside his men for his own accord to assess the situation on Nathir, a city being besieged by the Vanehan Empire. It's only a matter of time if the Vanehans conquer it and they may set their sights on the rest of the Hundred Kingdoms for their taking. He and his men besides a blood ape are marching upon a road that leads to the city "Thank Aurora that was a stray cat you ate, Garkour. Please ask me for permission before you do so again" Deryl rolls his eyes while his blood ape burps from his feline meal

Raullaur A couple of lionmen step on to the road near the man with the daiklaive and others. "Excuse us," one says in somewhat accented Rivertongue. "Our commander wonders who you are and your intentions going through. He asks, respectfully, that you come to join him and talk of these things. We can guide you if you wish."

Meanwhile, Raullaur does indeed note the falcon and looks up to see it, before turning his attention back to his men, "No, we still need to find their supply trains. Those will determine who much they can do, how long they can last."

Fudou the Mountain Can a falcon smile? If so it probably looks absolutely ridiculous and so it's a good thing Raullaur turned away before seeing if such a thing were possible. Either way, the bird remains there for a few more seconds before finally lifting wing and taking flight again -- lifting off from the branch but this time only going a few yards forward to glide earthwards.

In the next instance, Fudou is there, having come from the 'somewhere' that is lunar shapeshifting. Hard to discern in action, quicker then quicksilver, and suddenly a rumbling presence that shakes the hillside as his mammoth physique settles about like a moving avalanche of muscle.

"Raullaur!" he roars, deep voice booming as he straightens up and massive chest swelling enormously with his breathing. "-There- you are!"

Deryl Laklan "I am Deryl Laklan, mercenary captain of the Devoured Sinners Menagerie company while I am an exigent of diamonds and blades" The snake eyed man mentions to the lionman "But do not worry, we are not here to cause trouble nor are we under Vaneha's coin as I am came here for personal reasons to assess the possible threat this empire may pose to the Hundred Kingdoms" He says to them but gives a respectful nod "As you wish and I'll gladly meet your leader"

He follows them to wherever their commander of the lionmen are

Raullaur "Well, Fudou! It has been a long time. It is good to see you again. Where did you think I would be?" The Golden Lion stands tall. "Come to see the spectacle? Or were you looking for me?"

The two scouts come, "This is Deryl Laklan, captain of the Devoured Sinners and an exigent. Captain Laklan, this is Raullaur, once commander of the Lion's Pride, and now ruler over the Sacred Grove, who has some reputation in the East as the Golden Lion."

Raullaur is wearing simple linen that is reinforced with leather, no obvious arms nor armor, but he does seem like he is sprinkled with gold dust. "Greetings, Captain Laklan. Watching things to make sure Vanhea doesn't cross the river north, like I am? What do you think their goal is?"

Fudou the Mountain "I haven't seen you in some time! Seasons I think! I did not know where you were. I didn't come looking for you, mate but I'm glad I found you!"

His cheer seems evident. Fudou's rougher way of speaking slipping in. The facade of his more careful use of words slipping as he excitedly looks over the lion man while walking forward.

It is Deryl's arrival that changes this however. He turns his attention towards the arriving announced exigent and then looks back towards Raullaur. "I know him!"

Fudou looks back towards Deryl, "You're far from Iron Simhata. Are you hear chasing another war? That's why I was passing through. The Hundred Kingdoms is no stranger to war but so many back to back... I didn't know what was happening. So I wanted to investigate..."

Deryl Laklan "Ah, lord Raul. We've meet once when you passed through my village!" He greets the commander and is amazed he has a domain of his own "Ah, interesting. You have your own land and interesting title." He is not sure what the Golden Lion indicates but is not bothered by it that much. "As for their goal, I suspect expansionism" However he raises his eyes once he sees Fudou

"Ah, the exigent of strength is here as well! Well although it's far from my part of the Hundred Kingdoms, the Vanehans are concerning as they may move to other parts of the region" He says to Fudou but slightly frowns a bit on the Iron Simhata "I wish I can do something about the deathknight situation there but it may be taken care of by the Immaculate presence in that city. Although I doubt it may be effective"

Raullaur "I see. It's been quite a while, and yes. I do recall meeting now. My apologies. Anyhow, what is the situation in Iron Simhata...and is it something we need to deal with? I've heard rumors of these deathnights, but honestly, they sound like the rumors told about the solars and lunars," Raul says, "So I'm half-ready to dismiss them. But Vaneha? Vaneha marches. And I must make sure they do not march towards my kingdom."
Fudou the Mountain "They may sound similar due to context but there is a difference." notes Fudou as he looks to Raullaur. "It's not as simple a matter as people being afraid of 'the unknown' or being peddled old lies and rivalries I'm afraid. Not this time. There is a real and present thread linked to The Underworld and Oblivion itself ....simply not all Deathknights are equally yoked to it or set on carrying it out. A touch different then being chosen by The Sun though...."

He then addresses Deryl, "What news of this new war do you have then? Ah yes..." Fudou grins slowly, rubbing his jaw now as he adds, "I....forgot about the whole Exigent of Strength thing, that quickly. Hmm...yes..we'll leave it at that for now. ANyway, what news do you have?"

Deryl Laklan "As for the invasion, I heard they are currently besieging the city of Nathir" He then turns to the topic of Iron Simhata "The situation there has died down since I heard the deathknight warlord was defeated. But for now, I am watching if the situation gets intense there whether it will be the Immaculates getting uppity or the deathknight's scheming" He then continues the matter on the siege

"The city still stands but it's a matter of time if it falls"

Raullaur "And no-one is asking for help? Is anyone willing to /pay/ for help?" Raullaur muses, "Because I could see people helping, at least for pay. Whether it's the right thing to do, that's more complicated."
