Hoarfrost The small fishing village of Edgetide lays along Yanaze River. Their lives depend on the fish of the river and the near by forests for lumber. Only one of these forests against the town is almost conspicuously untouched. Today like any other. Twenty or so little skiffs are spread out along the water spreading their nets. Gatherers are out hunting for food, though continuing to avoid the larger forest.

Hoarfrost sits on the edge of her forest, the Wintersong. Hiding in the shadow of the massive trees enjoying the peace of her land she has managed to cultivate.

Blackheart Keys "Pests" Blackheart Keys says to himself as he looks at the fisherman on HIS river. Taking HIS fish. Luckily for them, he's feeling a bit full after his recent meals from another village farther down river. Unluckily for them, he's still not happy. A large tentacle barely breaks the surface of the river, but its still enough to create quite the wave. Enough to scare, but not enough to topple the skiffs. He waits a moment and repeats the process, listening to the panicked fishers scramble to get the boats back to shore.
Hoarfrost Confusion at first. A few fishers peering over the side of their boats trying to find the source of the strange movement and the following wave. The second time more eyes spot the movement and screams of fear, panicked rowing to get back to shore.

From her vantage the echoes of the panicked fishermen draw her attention. With a resigned sigh and a flash of silver she takes the form of her spirit totem. The sleek almost deer like equine, the symbol of protection of the village and her protected forest. Almost frail looking and delicate, yet the white coat almost glows in the light as it steps from the shadow of the forest. Mortals fleeing past her as she steps onto the back of the river.

Blackheart Keys His delight in the fleeing fishermen is cut short as Keys smells... Something else. He breaks the surface slightly, just enough for a single eye the size of a small ship to break the surface and peer out. It recedes into the water for only a moment before the entire kraken breaks breaches the river and looks out towards the river bank. Its almost impossible to measure the length of the creature he is, tentacles constantly moving in and out of the water. He peers down at the small, frail looking thing that approaches him. He smashes a tentacle close to where Hoarfrost is, attempting to intimidate the thing rather than injure. Another tentacle rises up, ending in a mouth filled with rows of razor-sharp, hooked teeth. It hisses loudly at a few of the straggling skiffs, smacking one of them and sending it crashing to shore. Thankfully, the people inside are only shaken up and the damage to the boat seems minimal.
Hoarfrost The pervious commotion brought more of the town out to see what was going on, so as the Kraken raises out of the water the screams start in earnest. The whole town rather than just the fishermen fleeing, dropping anything held as the go. Waves of disturbed water striking the shore and tossing abandoned boats as it goes.

Unbothered both by the chest high waves striking her and the tentacles breaking the earth around her. Holding its ground against the attack. Red eyes glancing momentarily at those tipped into the water. Thinking quickly, she tries for the first thing that comes to mind. Essence reaching out into the world she works to impose her sorcerous will ont the world. Shaping a spell to hopefully quell this beasts rampaging. Equally importantly stop the mortals from doing something dumb and getting themselves hurt.

Blackheart Keys The kraken roars out as the villagers scatter away from it, almost forgetting for a moment that there is something still not fleeing. Almost. Keys' four massive eyes focus down on Hoarfrost, narrowing slightly as it refuses to flee. For a brief moment, he feels a bit of respect for the creature's bravery, but his annoyance wins out. Seeing the creature do... something strange, he decides to try again to intimidate it. He rises higher out of the water, revealing his massive beak, filled with uncountable rows of teeth. He towers above Hoarfrost and roars, joined by four tentacles with mouths screeching loudly down at her with enough force to cause the water around her to be pushed away, revealing the ground at her feet for a few seconds.
Hoarfrost Taking a deep breath, large nostrils taking in the wet river spray. Focus not breaking from the spell work. Doing everything she can to block out the massive terror before her. Eyes opening glowing silver, the light of her coat almost fading to black as a similar corona of silver surrounding her body. Suddenly all the mist being tossed into the air and the dampness in the air evaporates turning into a thick roiling mist. It clings to anything that lives seeping into the skin and nose. A calming poision that makes all it touches sluggish. Every mortal in the area slowly begins to fold and collapse passing out falling into a deep sleep.

"Quiet beast." A soft calming ... not a voice, its not but movement from the creature but it is as easy to understand as any spoken word. "What causes you such distress in my home?"

Blackheart Keys The sudden appearance of the mist around him is confusing at first. His tentacles tingle slightly at the calming mists of the spell, causing him to lean slightly to one side. He feels calm. Tired. Weary. His four eyes narrow wearily for a moment. Poison. His eyes snap open as essence fills his being to resist the effects. Silver wraps his body as his moonsilver tattoos begin to manifest around his being. His eyes narrow down at the creature before him again. He focuses in on the silver light around it.

Suddenly, five voices boom out, each distinct in tone and pitch, but one, deeper than the rest, is heard. "SORCEROUS!" One tentacle hisses in a voice like a snake and then smashes into the water, causing water to fall like heavy rain around him. Another tentacle moves around Hoarfrost, coiling near as if to inspect her. It's mouth opens, speaking in a voice like a crone, "A beast, am I? Aye. I suppose you are not wrong. And your home? Perhaps... But the moment you touched this water? You entered MY home." The tentacle moves to her front, in a pose that could almost be described as seductive, but with aggressive intent. "So, who enters the domain of Blackheart Keys?"

Hoarfrost Another set of tattoos manifest almost as in reaction to the reveal of the larger creatures. Fractal patterns of silver crossing over her legs and back. Despite the tentacle thrice as thick as she curling about her slight form. Eyes narrowing as if to say; "My markings are clear." Taking another step forward safe knowing that she is still in her home still in her territory. Her territory extends over the fertile fishing fields that Key's currently setting in.

Head and neck of the unicorn glowing silver changing shape to that of her human half melding both into a tauric shape. "I am Hoarfrost Rent from Morning's Mist. Your territory Blackheart Keys is to the west of here." Magic tingling at her fingers, she could feel the elementals dematerialized around her ready to defend her the moment she called them. Hopefully it would not come to that.

Blackheart Keys His eyes focus on the silver tattoos, contemplating his next move. Keys certainly was not expecting to see another so near his home. He knew that something else was here, his magic told him so when he wished to claim it for his own. He expected maybe a minor god or some particularly accomplished mortal. Not a Lunar. A hiss from one of his tentacles is followed by another, this one without a mouth, traces the air just inches from Hoarfrost's skin, tracing in the wind the markings he sees on her. "Your territory... Sssssister..." Suddenly, his body shifts and cracks, the sounds of bone realigning and shifting into a form more size appropriate for conversing.

Keys shrinks down into his hybrid form; his head is like an octopus with tentacles over the mouth and his attire is that of a pirate captain, complete with his hat. "My territory is wherever I say it is, my dear." He cracks his neck a bit before letting out a sigh. "Though I must admit I was not expecting a territorial clash with someone like you in a place like this. A violent dispute over something like this seems... avoidable."

Hoarfrost Hoarfrost is an albino, thin and delicate as her totem form. Not wearing much in the way of clothing instead her long mane of white hair and the mist seem to do the same job of obfuscation. "Lunars earn the right of territory, from the spirits, the animals and Gaia herself. None but the Lawgivers decree ownership." She is shorter than Keys even in her hybrid form and she is forced look up defiantly. "I conquered this land and proved myself its protector. Its creatures and gods respect me they know nothing of you." Arms crossing her arms in front of her.
Blackheart Keys One of Keys' tentacles snaps its mouth aggressively, but he simply folds his hands together in contemplation. "You are certainly right that ownership is earned and I intended to earn it, one way or another." One of his tentacles snatches a fish out of the water that wandered to close, consuming it bones and all. His smile isn't seen so much as felt as he leans down, nearly getting on a knee to look at the shorter Lunar face-to-face. "Well, if you have already conquered this territory then I guess that is that. I have no interest in sharing any claimed territory with another, but I also don't particularly desire to wrest control from you by force." He puts his hands up and cocks his head to one side, "Perhaps a truce of some kind could be arranged instead? How far into the Yellow River does your territory extend? And more importantly... How deep?"
Hoarfrost Hoarfrost tries not to look too relieved from Key's relenting. "half mile from the village, a mile above and a mile below." Gesturing to a few fetishes tied to markers that rest in the river itself "The rest of the river is yours if you like. The mortals know what is safe, if they foolishly ignore this they are beyond my help." Relaxing in what she hopes is a show of peace to her fellow Lunar. "Family is always welcome to visit as long as you do so respectfully." A bit more mirth to her voice.
Blackheart Keys One tentacle snaps its mouth shut less than an inch from Hoarfrost's face and opens in a menacing grin, revealing dozens of rows of hook shaped teeth before it retreats to Keys' side like a hound to the master. Keys nods his head, "These conditions are acceptable to me as well. I shall claim the river beyond your lands, leaving another half mile of space as neutral ground." His stands to his full height again. "As for the terms of your hospitality," he looks down at her, a smile forming beneath his face-tentacles. "I can accept that as well. I will be sure to choose a less threatening form on my next visit." He turns to leave and then pauses, glancing back. "Oh, and feel free to visit Trout Point yourself in whatever form you please. My people will be in touch." His smile flashes more of his shark-like teeth before he turns into a massive shark and begins swimming away.
Hoarfrost That final snap does get a bit of jump from her, perhaps letting her guard down so much wasn't such a good idea "T-that is more than adequate arrangement. Then it is agreed." Holding out small pale hand to seal the deal, but Keys starts wandering away. Quickly dusting her hand against her side.

"Trout Point? The people here have mentioned a few times. I have only stayed so far west a few times. I will happily come to visit. I will show every respect. Safe travels."
