Amethyst The city is different at night time. She's keeping towards the shadows, away from lights. Rumors say there's gonna be another attack tonight in this part of the district. If these guys did take her father, she'd know soon. Palming her little alchemical canister, she's ready to spring her spell at a moment's notice. There would be no holding back from the sorcerous-alchemist.
Spring Wind Spring herself is watching from the second or third building up, in her guise as the Rat Queen of Great Forks. A tan cloak, gray cloth mask covering her mouth and nose, and eyes peering out as she gazes down at the waiting scene. Amethyst does gain her attention, but as she's not taking the initiative for some purpose currently unknown to her she's a mental note rather than an active threat. The traffic has been slower in the night-time, but she's still keeping an eye out for anyone that might seem out of place.
Tenken Great Forks has many names - the City of Temples, the House of Festivals, or Decadence to others - and is one of the most prosperous and enlightened cities in the East. Known for tolerance, art, culture, and especially for self-indulgence and hedonism at times, the city is a crossroads for many different types. The Temple District of Great Forks takes up nearly a third of the city, Spirits and elementals make up a significant portion of the population here, and the entire place is positively swarming with godlings, spirits, cults, and even Fair Folk, just to name a few of the travellers and denizens. Rumors of late have been surfacing, spreading at an increasing rate, that disappearances are becoming commonplace. A number of young women have gone missing and no progress has been made on investigations related to these sad events. Additionally, even some of the spirits are on edge, as apparently the targets have not all been the humans walking the streets of the city.

Tenken stands at the entrance to the small non-descript temple in his name, staring at the darkened and cloudy skies. Though the majority of patrons seeking aid hail from groups of soldiers and other fighting men as is expected of those seeking the Patron of Hopeless Battles and Lost Causes, a number of families have come seeking help, as each of groups' daughters have gone missing without a trace. He had heard the rumors, and on this especially dark night, something was in the air, an uneasiness; the air was thick with tension that pushed aside the pleasant aromas of spices and incenses that usually permeated the district.

Amethyst Eyes flick from person to person to person. Ears moving about, tracking noises, less concerned about emotion and more about keeping in touch with happenings around herself. And tho her eyes sharpened, she wishes she would've given herself night vision. She makes a mental to note to put that on the list of mutations she's considering adding to herself. But enough distractions, she tries to get a feel for the area she's in, looking for anyone or anything suspicious as she goes.
Spring Wind It's a leap from one building to another as Spring moves to find a better angle to view the open temple from. She's heard descriptions of it before, but never visited herself. The fact that some of the visitors aren't mortal does gain her attention, and she's willing to risk the added light cast on her perch for a better view. Someone spotting her would probably be notable in and of itself, right?
Tenken As the shadowed form of Spring Wind leaps across the gap to another perch and Amethyst moves down the darkened path, the two figures lurking within an alley to the right take no notice. They are shrouded in heavy billowing robes, as black as night, and seem to be standing within unnaturally heavy shadows. They are unnoticed as well, as the two acolytes from The Order wait for potential targets. Out of the 6 previous victims, only 1 had been deemed appropriate for transport to the detention center for holding. Knowing that the consequences would fall upon them if they fail to deliver their quota, and knowing the irate nature of their commander for this district, they wait in a disciplined manner.
Amethyst Amethyst anxiously turns the little canister in her hand over and over as she keeps moving forward. She's nervous. Usually, when she's about to be caught is usually when she can perceive the threat. Of course, there might not even /be/ a threat. She fears she might just end up running into them, while lurking in the same shadows that they might've claimed.
Amethyst Hardens her focus. There they are. She has the advantage too. If she could ambush one of them, take them out early, then deal with the other one... maybe she could win this one. Tho she doesn't like being outnumbered. She curses herself for not bringing backup. Surely even a bodyguard would've been a good idea. She stills her thoughts, and starts to work essence around her right hand, the one with the little tiny canister. She speaking something softly in old realm,

cm"Turning tides with the many thousand little streams of razor sharp blood"c/

Pouring her will into her focus, she starts to call up her weapon, quietly and carefully. There is no showing power glow as she contains all of the light with her hands, hoping the subtle glow of her tattoos and her quiet voice doesn't give her away.

Amethyst Thanking her lucky stars that no one's noticed her casting. Gathering the energy around her hand, she pops the canister open, and searing pain shoots down her hand as the material lashes at it, opening a wound and sucking the necessary blood right out and worms its way around her. And now before they have a chance to notice, she slurks just close enough. Breath held, she finds her center, her bloody weapon comforting her as she leaps towards the closest mark, striking in a wide arc before he has time to take purchase of what she's done.
Amethyst Her strike sends the man hurling into the side of the nearby building, leaving a bloody mark where she struck. He's gonna be out of it for a little while.
Spring Wind Noticing the fight breaking out, Spring leaps from her perch atop the building corner to a stall awning's post then bounces off a wall as she draws her moonsilver short daiklaves and flips them into a reverse grip as she hooks the blunt edges into the thug and slams them into a nearby wall before leaping back and flipping the grips once more. The message is clear, as she positions herself to prevent their escape: The way out is guarded with moonsilver fangs.
Tenken Amethyst and Spring Wind enter the fray in rapid succession, each delivering punishing but non-fatal blows to both of the acolytes. This is the first time that The Order has been contested in Great Forks, and they were not prepared for such an encounter. As both robed figures lie crumpled on opposite sides of the alley, with Spring Wind now blocking their only other route of escape, it is apparent that the message was received and that the two are simply outclassed in this scenario. As Spring leaps and flips back her reverse-grip on her knives transitioning into her current position, she becomes aware of another figure. A mere two feet behind her, a third form lies crumpled on the ground, but this figure is starkly different from the cultists that had provoked her wrath; the figure is that of a young woman, wearing a stained white dress of plain cloth. By initial impressions, she may be a servant or something similar for one of the families in the area. Her strawberry blonde curls are mired with dirt from the alley, and there is a cloth tied around her mouth to keep her from yelling, and her wrists and ankles are bound as well. She appears to be semi-conscious, but not yet aware of the events that had just transpired.

As Spring Wind and Amethyst dominate the would-be attackers, Tenken hears the commotion from his position about 30 yards away, and with quick reflexes pivots and nimbly pushes off of his feet, and his translucent sorcerous wings guide him aloft towards the alley. Despite his eyepatch covering his scarred right eye, his vision is keen enough to see all the figures below, and descends into the alley, lowering himself slowly in a non-threatening manner. He recongnizes the defeated figures as the abductors from the rumors swirling about Great Forks, and sets down in a position that doesn't pressure either of the fighters, as he takes his thumb away from the sheathed katana and it clicks back into place. With his pale grey eyes resting on the prone woman last, he rips the bindings on her wrists and ankles first, and removes the cloth binding her mouth, and then stands again to take stock of the situation before taking any more actions.

Amethyst The blood of the whip dulls, and spreads out, coiling around the man she sent into the wall. She grabs and picks him up, bringing him before her. "Who and what are you?" She asks of the man, her amethyst eyes intense and determined.
Spring Wind Beat. Spring looks up from the kidnapper she has pinned, then over towards Amethyst. "...Guy can't speak if he's dead keep in mind how far you go, 'Kay?" she asks, a sound of mild concern in her voice.
Amethyst Amethyst eases up a little bit, her killing intent mellowing out as she switches her brain. And then she realizes the others around her. "Uh, oh, hello. I take it we're all here for the same purpose?" She glances back over at the guy, looking him up and down, poking about his outfit for anything of interest.
Spring Wind "Tch." Spring says, seeing the severed tongue. "You're a stupid grunt, but there might be something we can do in any event." though the feeling of being watched pricks at the hairs on her neck as she looks around to find the patch on the clothing and the medallion both. "What the /shit/." she says, then looks over. "You know sorcery, what are these things?"
Amethyst Amethyst takes notice of the symbol and of the medallion. She takes it, and turns it over in her hands. She almost regrets deciding not to do this with vision dust. But as she turns it over in her hands, she stops at startling realization. "...Fascinating." She clearly recognizes it, but she seems uncertain if she oughta share what she's discovered. Now she's looking for some way to look back into it.
Spring Wind "It's creeping me out, like it's part of a creature or something. An actual /eye/." she says, "If this... Whatever actually can see me, which I doubt, I'd probably put two against each other. Hope that whatever's on the other end vomits like they're in a funhouse that went too far." she huffs.
Tenken "These men are from an organization that seems to have set its sights on Great Forks, as well as several other cities I have visited... this isn't my first time seeing them. So far I've gathered that they call themselves 'The Order', but I don't know if that's shorthand between the members or if there is more accurate nomenclature." Tenken pauses, feeling the gaze of the medallion, and turns towards Spring Wind saying "There is definitely some entity on the other side of that medallion, and it can see us. I've already been seen by it, and now you have too, but I wonder if that would have happened regardless if those like us hadn't pursued them to stop whatever plans they have." Tenken grins and holds back a laugh at Spring's suggestion, genuinely intrigued and also amused at the idea of funhouse-mirroring 'the watcher(s)' on the other side. "I could think of worse ideas to do with those medallions, and who knows, it may actually mess up the sight of whatever is watching us. I have a building nearby if you'd like to inspect these cultists more, and you're all welcome to rest there as needed." The small temple he is referring to is non-descript and would be a useful safe-house for anyone trying to avoid prying eyes. "And sorry for not introducing myself, I'm Tenken... and anyone trying to stop this organization is on the same path as I am."
Amethyst "A safe place to study this would be useful. I'm sure I can find some way to look back into this given enough time and a large enough mirror." Amethyst's mind is already going. "I am Yim Amethyst, tho typically I just go by Amethyst." She says with a little grin. "But, as much as I like using my blood powers," And then she turns her attention towards the cultists, eying the individual before her. "What do we do with these two?" Her blood's grip gets uncomfortably tight.
Spring Wind "Kill them or give them to someone who can hold them away for a while." Spring says, "Those are our only two options, letting them go means we have two other people who could potentially act against us with some amount of understanding."
Tenken Tenken nods in agreement, saying "You're right, but given a choice I'd prefer not to kill them, especially as they are unarmed." It isn't a scenario that is out of the question for Tenken, but he would take any other alternative given the choice. "I can deliver them to the holding cells for the city guard, I do have a relationship with some of the watchmen and could call in a favor. I don't have much influence in city affairs, but they would surely let us return to investigate this matter and hold them in the meantime as they are attacking city residents within the limits. In the meantime, we can ask this young woman what she knows or remembers of her encounter when she wakes.. hopefully they haven't injured her."
Amethyst "I don't wanna take the lives of two that didn't even put up any fight." Amethyst says in agreement. She releases this man for a moment, and grabs the other one, bringing him over. And then she releases the whip entirely and just uses her blood to tie them up, her glyphs still slightly glowing. Amethyst turns her attention to the lady on the ground. "Oh dear. Yes, that would be good." And she checks the lass to see if she's injured.
Spring Wind "Noble." Spring says, "Just don't let your nobility get you killed sometime in the future." she observes, as she rummages through the thugs' belongings a bit more. "Anything with an eye is too risky..." she mutters to herself. "Come on, do you have /anything/ valuable here?" she continues to say under her breath.
Tenken With a laid-back smile, Tenken says, "I won't, besides, not killing them is a practical choice. Even though they can't talk, there are certain ways to access the memories and hidden knowledge without them needing to speak. I can't perform such a feat, but there are those within the city that can, and that could prove useful." Agreeing with Spring, he says "That eye is definitely risky, but it has already seen us, so learning as much as we can from these grunts is probably for the best... especially if there is retaliation for this from their side."
Amethyst Amethyst nods to herself. "The girl's alright. But, oh." Amethyst's eyes grow a little. "That's, she's been knocked out with a peculiar drug. I don't know its name, and I've only seen it a handful of times. It's mostly a herb that grows only in a few places, usually around shadowlands and wyld. Ugh, I bet my mother would know more about this." Amethyst rubs her head. She doesn't wanna think about what it'd take for her to make it back to her right now tho. She couldn't go there before and she can't now. "But that's not gonna help me here and now. Maybe I have something in one of my books."
Spring Wind "Those are... Kind of opposites, aren't they? Dead and gloomy versus sear-your-eyeballs colorful." Spring says, "Both super dangerous, but... You get my point." she says. "I'd be willing to come with you for that, see if you need any help afterwards. They've been taking a lot of people who can't even afford weaponry... I take that personally."
Tenken "Yea those two are definitely opposites, which is strange. It probably does give some information of their movements though, and I'm also willing to help. This organization is attacking both the people of this city as well as others, and its possible that sorcerors and those of greater power are in their sights... so im personally invested as well."
Amethyst "Maybe they're the ones behind my father's disappearance." Amethyst muses. "Tis why I'm here to begin with. I figured looking into the disappearances would help me find him. It'd be great to work with you." She smiles, and relaxes a little. "Let's go deposit these guys."
