Raullaur Word had gone out, but fortunately Foudou is rather recognizable, so it was easy to pass to him that Raullaur wanted to see him, and also easy to konw where he's located. The sounds of training are myriad, but not too harsh--and some of them have even gone to willingly participate in the Arena. FOr now, Raullaur is in an office, sitting down at a table and growling as he looks over two scrolls.
Fudou the Mountain Recognizable when he -wants- to be..yes. There is the possiblity he's gone to ground, so to speak. It's been since at least the festival, some time back, that he was seen within the city though Raul has at least seen him once since then..

Either way, a rumbling of the ground and a shadow falling over the exterior of the building that Raul sits within heralds that Raul's gambit paid off and something or someone of prodigious dimensions is approaching.

"Come out, come out wherever you aaareeeee." rumbles a familiar voice in a bassy sing-songy sort of way. "Or I come in and tear your roof and walls off in the process!"

Raullaur Raullaur grunts and makes his way out, with the scrolls in cases, and when he see Fudou, he nods. "Thank you for coming. Do you need anything to eat or drink? And, ah...can you read? I have some scrolls that I do not trust." He smiles, "But where are my manners? FIrst, come and be welcome, then we can come to business.
Fudou the Mountain "You are straight to business.."

Fudou looks bemused as he leans against the side of the building. He then pushes up from it and draws closer to Raul while looking curious, "Tell me, why have you summoned me? A lunar's attention is not easily obtained but for you..? I give you some of my time.." He scratches his massive chest absently and considers the questions, "..Read? ... Yes..I can..dependin on what it is. What is wrong?" He inclines his head to consider Raul once more and then shakes his head, "I feel welcome but I need no refreshments. Come, straight to the point. It will help my mood."

Raullaur Raullaur nods and slides the scrolls out. One in Old Realm, one in Low Realm. "Got the first one, and it was set up really weird. Seems like a job, but everything about it screams trap. So...do I ignore it? Go spring the trap, being well-wary? Is it just something to get me out of /here/ so that someone else can do something here?" He shrugs. "That is my pressing, urgent issue. The longer one is...like I said before, I want to understand Luna's chosen as well as the Sun's. WHat do you do and why?"
Fudou the Mountain "I'm afraid you'll have to give me more details. I can read. I can even write. But not this. Not yet." remarks Fudou though he purses his lips "I'd hate to give you a bad take.. Why don't you start from the beginning. Who is this from and when did you recieve it? Why target you? Do you have any past enemies?"
Raullaur "Well, a few days ago, I got a scroll from someone who looked all official..." Raullaur holds up the Old Realm scroll, "And Bright was able to translate it. But still wrote it down. In any event, it makes it seem like it's from the citygovernment, and they say there's bandits in a First Age dwelling. I stop the bandits and can loot the place, or set up residence there. but..." The beastman shakes his head. "But they don't say who they really are, or give evidence of the bandits. So I says, it's a trap. I just can't figure anything else beyond that."
Fudou the Mountain "Tt is strange. Sloppy." muses Fudou as he ponders that explanation. "For one, to address you so brazenly is odd. You have not, to my knowledge, made it very apparent to the public that you are a Solar so this would seem to imply it was already known before you arrived here. If so, why hide ones identity? If a trap it seems an unusual one. Perhaps some degree of subterfuge is in order. Where, exactly, is this location that they speak of?"
Raullaur "That's another thing. They /don't say/." Raullaur growls with frustation, his tail flicking behind him. "So...could be Guild from before--or someone the Guild sold information to. Or..." He shakes his head. "I am used to logistics and strategems. Not politics and spying."
Fudou the Mountain "There is much to be concerned about. I'm not one for subterfuge and politics either.." muses Fudou once more before shrugging and folding his massive arms. A creak of sinew indicates his rising agitation and desire to do something about it all, "Bandits who are simply mortals would not well handle occupying ruins from the days of old. At least they would only be able to deal with the surface. Who knows what traps and dangers lay there in those old places? But let's say this is so. Where are they? Why contact you and not any other? Someone has an interest in drawing you out and so they surely know who you are by reputation or past. THey know you are an Exalted and one of the Sun Chosen at that. The Guild? Perhaps. The Hunt would possibly employ different methods. I see only one solution.."
Raullaur "And what is your solution? Mine is to search out the area, and gain allies unkonwn. Spring the trap and overturn it. FIgure out what is going on that way. Perhaps too striaghtforward, but in a crooked world, such can be powerful.
Fudou the Mountain "Yes. Spring the trap." remarks Fudou with a growing full toothed smile. His physique swells abit and then relaxes as he rubs his jaw, "I can easily travel there in disguise and survey the area. Any lunar could, frankly but..Rishi is, perhaps, better suited to other things. Anyway ..if you can determine the location then it would be a simple matter to explore it and then determine the truth of the matter. It is not likely they believe you to have obtained lunar allies that have some interest in this..or you..."
Raullaur Raullaur nods. "If we can find where it is. There is nothing listing /where/ in all of these dead words. But true, they might know about me--but not about others." Raullaur nods. "So...that's my business, and I'm glad we agree on a course of action...just a check to make sure I'm not insane." He nods, "So...is there anything I can do for you as a return favor?"
Fudou the Mountain "Possibly but we can get to that." rumbles Fudou as he places his hands against his waist, "We should first attempt to figure out the location and the practicality of this all. Do you have any thoughts? At the very least a review of the immediate area will give something to consider. There may be clues in the message itself. Our People and these attacks should imply some sort of nearby and easily assailed trade and travel route, correct? It would have to be near enough to any ruins to make such assaults practical and they would have to feel protected enough to not fear retaliation from the city...which means that it is possibly not too close to risk the wrath of the leaders here. What do you think?"
Raullaur Raullaur nods. "A major road. Good ambush points. And then places to go from those ambush points...it would be far enough away that they aren't /technically/ in the city's influence. Should send patrols out and have them note where we would set ambushes, and then work from there?"
Fudou the Mountain "Aren't you the war tactician?" rumbles Fudou after giving a big yawn and then removing his hat to fan himself absently. "..But yes..that is what I would do or..possibly lay a trap. Perhaps you can send something along the roads that might attract the attention of would be bandits."

The immense giant pauses for thought, a slumbering mountain or a pondering landslide waiting to happen.

"If you draw them out you may be able to capture them. If this group even exists. But if they did you could lay in wait for one of them and then find out more details that way. Still..how many ancient fortresses of the first age could there be? This shouldn't be hard, honestly. You just have to go do it!"

Raullaur "Yes, but I need t see the terrain, and we can cover more ground if groups split up," Raullaur says. "So yes, go to find it, and see what is there. But honestly, if it has not been found already and publicly known...then it's hidden well."
Fudou the Mountain 'Which is why drawing them out could be an option as well. It could be underground, true enough. An easily missed passage way or hidden path that leads to something they found..not easily found by mortals or those not knowing what to look for."

Fudou rubs his jaw now, producing a sound like dried brushes scratching overtop stone as his fingers dig at his flesh and hairy jaw. "...A place for an ambush, where an unsuspecting Solar might not be able to escape from...."

Raullaur Raullaur thinks a moment. "You know...they would have to suspect I will be on guard going out and searching. What if they mean to attack me here in the city?" He taps his claws on the table. "Otherwise...it would have to be beyond the close farms. Probably in the wilderness...there are some good hills that the roads wind through. Easy to watch from, hard to see behind."
Fudou the Mountain "Hmph.."

Fudou grunts abit and then says, "You are, perhaps, overthinking it. They have almost assuredly underestimated you. If it's truly bandits then they are no match. The truth lies in if there is something behind the bandits and that is not easily sussed out simply thinking about it. You already have your reasons to suspect a trap and betrayel. It's almost certainly that. So perhaps you should begin sending out scouts and then go yourself. Or just go. Your lion men are rather distinct. Anyone could see them coming..."

Raullaur Raullaur nods. "Definitely will do so, set up the patrols and the like. And find things to go out. But I also hear there is an expedition to the WYld, and I am...curious about the area as well."
Fudou the Mountain Now that bit of gossip is interesting.

"An -expedition- to the -wyld-?" he questions, "Who would be so foolish and brazen and for what purpose?" Fudou's eyes narrow slightly though he appears more interested in that then the issue with the bandits. "One does not eagerly go into the wyld.."

Raullaur Raullaur snorts a bit, "I am not sure. I have only heard rumors, so I am trying to find out. I have heard strange things there, and I admit to being /very/ curious." Raullaur chuckles, and his tail flicks behind him. "Great risk, great rewards."
Fudou the Mountain "The Wyld is not just some trip to a dangerous pub somewhere in The Hundred Kingdoms. It's not even bandits and a trap being set by sloppy Guild agents or Wyld Hunt members." cautions Fudou, looking mildly annoyed. "It's chaos. It can warp you. Change you. Mutate you into something monstrous. TUrn your blood into birds and your flesh into clouds... How deep are these people going and why? Do you even have protection against it? What curiousity would take you into the wyld?"

Fudou smirks lightly and then shrugs, "YOu are rather unsettled...for a war leader.."
