Bright Journey Well, now. This is one of those rooms in Silk's mansion that doesn't get used all that often.

What with the underground manse with its ancient library, magicked dojo, and who knows what other wondrous amenities, sometimes it's easy to forget that above ground there's still a quite well-appointed mansion. This part of the structure may be lacking in mystical resources, but it more than makes up for that by trading for sunlight and fresh air, furniture designed for the use of actual human beings, and servants who can safely arrive and serve tea. Which is exactly what they're doing at the moment.

Bright is seated in a comfortable-looking chair in a bright, airy sitting room. Admittedly, the mansion as a whole is not filled to the brim with accessories or wall hangings, but there's a couple lovely pieces in here to break up the larger expanses of paint. There's several other chairs and a plush couch, as well as side tables.

As Bright sits cross-legged, accepting her tea from a shy but competent maid with grace, she looks at the door to see who else is coming in...

Silk Moon Lotus Silk walks causually into the room with another servant carrying a stack of papers. "Set them down on the table by Bright. She's the one that understands all that stuff anyways." Silk smiles warmly at her housemate. "An excellent choice of room you picked today. The sunshine does wonders for warming the room." She sits down in one of the overstuffed chairs close to Bright and looks at the maid. "Bright me something that will help me wake up please dear." She stretchs like a cat in almost impossible ways and draws her bare feet up onto the chair sitting crosslegged.
"I told Laughing Thunder to tell our companions where we are lounging today." Silk picks up the top page from the stack of papers and makes a face at the drawings on it. "This looks like a flying fish made into a mask."
Fudou the Mountain As one servant makes to leave the spacious and relaxing chamber, another individual makes a sudden arrival with such a flurry of movement that the poor serving girl is startled and gasps in surprise, nearly dropping her tray in the process but managing to recover just in time while turning in shock.

The source of the confusion, grey blur and gust of wind? A large hawk that just burst into the room in a manner most un hawk like..which means only one real thing: This aint no hawk.

It circles over head once, then twice, and then on the third rotation has descent low enough to begin that mysterious transformation that only those gifted with Luna's gifts can truly understand and perform. Seemingly unfolding and becoming something else. Something massive, brutish, immense and brooding. Fudou the Mountain. The gigantic lunar literally rumbling the ground as his great weight sets itself upon the floor and his long jacket flourishes into being around him followed by his hat settling on his head. He then straightens up and adjusts his jacket and garments, physique creaking and pressing out against his wear like bas-relief before he turns and tips a hat to the startled servant girl.

"Aaaah. So sorry! Good reflexes though!"

Bright Journey Bright accepts her tea--some sort of spiced black tea, perfect for perking one up in the morning--with a smile, then sighs good-naturedly as Fudou does his level best to startle the poor serving girl. She chuckles despite herself, then raises her teacup in toast to the maid as she gathers her aplomb, and whatever remains of her dignity. "Ah. Good morning to you too, Fudou. Adeline here -needs- those kind of reflexes to forever catch everything I'm always dropping, but I must admit a hawk is a new one around here.

Bright looks at the paper Silk is peering at, leaning over to get a peek. "Oh! Huh, you're actually right. That's a diagram of the seventh rune I'm planning on..." She pauses, looking wry for a moment. "Eh. Never mind. Point is...well, I guess sorcery can look like a fish mask from time to time." She grins and sips her tea again. "Coincidence, but still kind of appropriate given what I'm planning on doing. That," She points with her teacup at the diagram in Silk's hands, "is part of what we need to discuss today. As one of Luna's Chosen you probably don't have as much to worry about as we do, but...well, you'll see. Where she's planning on visiting, it pays to be prepared."

Silk Moon Lotus Silk chuckles and nods her head. "I did tell you I don't hire just anyone." She looks at Adeline smiling "Thank you my dear, please bright master Fodou whatever he wishes to drink."
Silk smiles at Bright "You plan to make some kind of flying fish mask to breath underwater? Can I borrow it later when we get back? I have some wonderful ideas on how to use it."
Silk looks over to Fudou "Agreed, the children of luna have a bit of an advantage when it comes to breathing underwater. Do you perhaps have a suggestion for us land walkers?"
Fudou the Mountain "Greetings, greetings. Yes..I've heard about this endeavour from Amethyst herself! Yes, yes.."

The behemoth of a lunar steps forward, walking closer towards the two solars and glancing over towards the papers that have been brought forth as well. "Hmm... Where is Rishi and Hoarfrost? It would seem taht if you need to be able to breathe underwater that Rishi can be of service due to her ability to sculpt ones flesh." He grins mildly, "If you don't mind such alterations to yourself I don't see why such an ability can't be granted...assuming you can convince her to remove them once it is all said and done. I am sure she will.."

Fudou makes a large sweeping gesture now, "Amethys tdid not mention such a need though. This place..a boundless ocean then?"

Bright Journey Bright looks mortified for a moment, then just laughs. "What? No! I'm not going to make something that would hide our faces." She grins wickedly. "Have to show off, you know, and it'd be a crime to hide the two of us. No, I have something slightly different in mind."

She turns to Fudou. "Rishi and Hoarfrost have been invited, and I'll try to find a way to be diplomatic with Rishi if I can on this, but...well, Fudou, you hit the nail on the head. 'If I can convince her to remove it'. Don't get me wrong, I'm sure I could...but I also think I could remove it myself at this point. And once I realized that. it got me thinking I don't have to rely on Rishi to begin with. I think you'll understand why I find her a little -too- eager to make that kind of modification. As for the need...yes. This is something Amethyst told us...oh, a week ago, I guess by now. But we will be headed to not just the Wyld in general, but where she came from specifically, which is actually underwater, at least in places. I'm not clear on how much. But we need to be able to breathe at the very least."

Raullaur There is a bit of noise from the front, and then one of the servants comes to the room. "Madams? Sir? The next guest is here." And afterwards, Raullaur steps in, dressed in standard white cloth and cream leathers, with his daiklaive along his back. "Good morning, all of you. Ihope you are all doing well?"
Silk Moon Lotus "Yes, she let us know that the kingdom of the rikasha we are heading to is almost entirely underwater. There are things we can do and things we cannot. I am not a fish so I cannot breath underwater. The last time I allowed Rishi to change my appearance, it took me a month to convince her to change me back. That was just cosmetic."
Silk's eye snap and tenses up for a moment at Raullaur's entrance then relaxes almost as quickly. She lifts a bell and rings it with a crystaline clarity. "Welcome by large friend, please be comfortable. I've called for one of the servants so you can have something to eat and possibly drink."
She looks back at Bright "You have an idea to show us off you say?"
Fudou the Mountain "I do understand, yes.." says Fudou as he hears Bright and Silkk. He pauses to look to Raullaur and he nods to him before speaking once more, "Rishi can be..devoted to her craft and maybe doesn't understand other perspectives on the things she deals with. But..I think that with the likes of Hoarfrost and myself overlooking matters that she would be willing to undo any alterations she does for the sake of this trip. To not do so would invite schism between her and the ones she seems to have fondness for. So you have that option at least and it wouldn't involve the use of the resources you'd need to use to alter or remove it yourselves. Rishi would not risk upsetting us and Amethyst and coudl be made agree to it via a promise. So do not completely dismiss it. It would save you some trouble for the immediate needs."
Bright Journey Bright looks up and gives Raullaur a grin, raising her teacup in greeting. "Ah. Good morning! Please, join us. We're discussing something that will -not- leave us all breathless." She chuckles and sets down her teacup, picking up the top page from the stack of papers instead. "A lot of what I have written here is copied from one book or another, and some of the rest is work I've done in the past week or so. I've been busy while Silk and I have been thinking about Amethyst's trip.

"You see, I put a great deal of time and effort into learning sorcery. And with all due respect to Rishi's skill--and I acknowledge her skill, don't get me wrong--I did not put in all that effort so I can sit on my behind when the time comes that we actually need sorcery! I can do what we need to do, of that I have no doubt. The only question right now is how much time I have to weave a waterbreathing working for everyone who needs it. Part of why we're meeting today is to figure out just who needs it and who doesn't...and given the time frame, there may be enough people who need it that we're best off with several of us doing it at once."

Bright gestures towards Fudou gracefully. "For instance, I have no idea if you even need the help. And if you did I suspected you would prefer Rishi did it--and that's fine. I would prefer to do it for myself instead, and I'm willing to try another way for anyone who wishes. I am hoping Rishi will understand that it's not an insult, or at least it's certainly not meant to be."

Raullaur Raullaur nods to the others and hmms. "All I had heard it was going into the Wyld, not that we needed to breathe water." He frowns a bit. "I do not know what we will be heading in to, so perhaps I will need such a thing. I have spoken with Rishi, and might do something there, but...I am of the wilderness. I may be able to cope in and of myself. It will be interesting to find out--here, well before it is needed."
Fudou the Mountain "You asked for my suggestion on how to deal with breathing under water and my suggestion was Rishi. If you are comfortable enough in the use of your sorcery and have already found the solution then it is no trouble of mine." remarks Fudou, tone matter of fact once again. "I don't think you need to be concerned about Rishi's opinion in such a situation. Either she understands or she doesn't. It would be foolish of her not to understand even though she's perhaps a touch overzealous in her views of change and others flesh. Anyway - I take no issue with someone wanting to accomplish something on their own power. In fact..that is a good thing."

Fudou tilts his hat up in thought as he looks over the room. He eyes Raullaur and then finally shrugs a little, "Amethyst seems well escorted. I had not planned on tagging along though perhaps I can.. Our tattoos and lunar arts protect us but.the wyld is not simply an afternoon walk in the woods because you're curious. It can shape, change, and kill you." He looks pointedly at Raullaur now, "Do you have the arts to protect yourself and if not..can you all protect our lion friend?"

Silk Moon Lotus Silk smirms at Bright "I am willing to test your sorcery Bright. If it doesn't work the way you intended, then I will allow Rishi or another to give me the ability to breath underwater." She looks at Fudou and nods "I appreciate your assistance in making sure we are returned to our original form. I came from a traditional family shall we say and altering one's form on purpose is like working for a Death Lord to them. I guess I still have some of that upbringing in me."
Raullaur "As far as dealing with the Wyld itself...it should not touch me. Needing to breathe...I have not tested myself against extreme natural, let along supnernatural hazards." Raullaur seems certain of the former, at least. "As for sorcery...I have been working some with Rishi already. But if this works, Bright, I might ask for through you instead."
Bright Journey Bright chuckles quietly, her voice a touch lower than normal. "I should think I would have no difficulty convincing her if I really put my mind to it, to be honest. But still, thank you. I appreciate you understanding my need to stretch my own wings, so to speak." She grins briefly. "And just because I used that turn of phrase, don't give Rishi any ideas!" She laughs and turns back to the paper she's holding.

"So. Anyway. What I have in mind is essentially a permanent enchantment that allows our lungs to treat air as water and water as air. It'll do the exact same work as the gills but I'm aiming for a way to...draw breath from the water at the mouth, which will cut out the salt water taste at least. Unfortunately, I didn't see a way to confer any other benefits without additional sorceries--you know there's a lot more to working underwater than simply breathing, after all. Movement, speaking, combat. That may be more than I'm capable of at the moment, and since it's more than Rishi was offering anyway, I think we'll be fine."

Fudou the Mountain The Mountain gives Bright a long side-eyed look at the first part of her statement. He says nothing though a mild raising of his eyebrows may speak more volume then anything else he can add to that initial statement.

"Sound's complicated.." he rumbles as he hears Bright explain the aspects of water-breathing that need to be taken into consideration. "Sounds as if just giving you gills would be easier but..again..I understand the need to stretch your wings. Still, this is making the task more clear to me. You're not simply passing through a realm of water but rather everything you may need to do could be int hs boundless ocean. No pockets of air. Interesting.."

He rubs his jaw in thought and then shrugs hsi shoulders to Raulluar, "If you have the means to protect yourself form the wyld then it would seem the only issue at hand is breathing underwater and Bright Journey apparently has a solution. I would not involve Rishi then save as a last resort. And I do get wanting to have ones flesh be unmarred by external change at the end of the day. It's not an unfair wish."

He lets a slight smile come to his face now, "This quite abit of effort for Amethyst to simply meet with her family.. Are you all intending some sort of workings while within the wyld?"

Silk Moon Lotus As Bright is explaining the details of how the working will function, Silk has a deep look of concentration on her face. "Could we make shoes and gloves that work like the fins of a fish to allow us to swim better? I'm not so clear on the speaking part...hand signs maybe?"
She turns to Raullaur "Perhaps your company would like to be blessed with Rishi's powers. That's a lot of people for Bright to use sorcery on and I don't know how accepting of it they will be. A blessing from one of the moon from what I have read is almost always welcomed."
Silk looks at Fudou "I believe my role is to be the hidden blade in case things do not go as well as planned. Bright will talk the fae lord's ear off, maybe literally. so that part is covered. Raulluar is the very visible muscle of this trip."
Raullaur Raullaur thinks a long moment. "I want to explore, and to forge stronger ties here with others of the Sun, the Moon, and even the Earth. This is a way to do that. And when we return, trying to spring the trap will prove interesting. Unless I can do that before we leave." THe lionman smiles a bit, "I had an interesting change, but it was reverted quickly. Still, having gills, permanantly at least, would be...disturbing. And workings? For me? I know no sorcery." He shakes his head, mane flowing around him as well.

Silk gets a nod. "Perhaps. I know I have been interested in...increasing our natural armaments, to be more leonine than before, as much and still walk as men do," he says. "If it is something she will do, our tribe will be very grateful to her."

Bright Journey Bright looks thoughtfully at Silk. "Construction is not something I'm any good with, but if you know someone in town...perhaps we could -commission- equipment like that. I think more than anything else, though, this conversation is telling me we maybe need to ask Amethyst a couple more questions, get a little more detail about what we can expect. I'm hoping we will have places with air pockets so we can -speak-, at the very least!"

Bright giggles and shakes her head as Adeline refills her teacup. "Silk, come on. I have not actually literally talked a fae lord's ear off." She looks thoughtful. "Yet. You never know, my dear, a good scream might do it."

Bright turns to Raullaur and nods. "If you're looking at something for yourself or your tribe, Rishi would be the person to speak to, not I. I know my sorceries would not extend to that many people...not yet, at any rate, though hey--give it time." She grins. "But that's between you and her. My ideas are a little less dependent on mutations, I think. At least so far."

When Bright looks at Fudou, she shakes her head. "Not on my own, but Amethyst certainly is. I know a bit of her plans, and I expect to be helping her, Rishi, and Frost if she's there. But beyond what Amethyst has in mind I don't expect to be there long enough for major workings. They take weeks, you know--not a spur of the moment thing."

Fudou the Mountain "She was able to get her hands on some gossomer.. So that will undoubtly play into what she has in mind yes.." muses Fudou, looking thoughtful, "..That is quite the entourage though so certainly the intention is to pacify the Raksha in your endeavours so they don't become problematic. I imagine Hoarfrost will be quite capable of assisting as far as that goes. This seems..rather ...daring. She must be expecting quite the welcome when she returns home."

Fudou dwells on this for a moment and then says, "Well it's doubtful I'll be needed then. To be frnak, I told her that really all she needed was Rishi and Hoarfrost." Lunar confidence in their own field it seems.. Or something more, perhaps.. He lingers on that for a second before stating, "..But....I think that you will be able to more then handle what lies ahead so perhaps I was wrong for being dismissive of your abilities....and intent.."

He glanes to Raullar and then adds, "But I do agree that Rishi would be more then willing to aid your men - the question is...will they truly want such an external force shaping them and what price may be involved. I'd think about it before being too hasty. Even the most well meaning lunar has a trick up their sleeves..."

Raullaur "It is something to discuss. And to demonstrate on myself. But beyond that...I will want to talk with her indeed. To see what she wishes in return, and discuss...everything. Such workings..." Raullaur's voice trails off, and he nods to Bright. "I do think, though, that I do not want to take my men into the Wyld itself. They may be better suited to be guards against threats coming towards us, and to secure our point of egress from the WYld back into Creation."
Silk Moon Lotus "Thank you Fudou for being a different voice for what we are planning. It's always a good idea to hear from someone who's vision isn't clouded by friendship on such a dangerous journey."
"I believe we have resolved the issues with breathing underwater so far." Silk gets up out of her chair and heads for the doorway "If you will excuse me, I spent more of my night scrubbing floors and I'm tired. Please stay as long as you like."
Fudou the Mountain The Mountain nods to Raullaur, "That is wise on both accounts. For many..permanent physical change is not necessarily a casual topic to consider or do..especially for mortals, but perhaps some may be interested, especially considering the source of such gifts and potential advantages. But you should keep them far from the wyld yes. Your men are loyal and skilled but this matter is, frankly, beyond them. These are good thoughts.."
Bright Journey Bright nods in agreement with everyone, generally speaking. "Yes. The Wyld is very, very dangerous for the unprepared, even those of us fortunate enough to have been chosen. We have to be sure we can resist that sort of power, and I know I can for myself but I can't help anyone else. And I most certainly prefer myself as I am."

Bright finishes her second cup of tea and offers Silk a wave. "Sleep well, my dear. I know how horrific this hour must be to you." She smiles. "I'll keep these gentlemen company as long as we still have things to talk about. As for my working...I will develop and practice my technique, starting with myself. We'll see how things go."
