Hammering Heron It is a warm afternoon in the bustling streets of Great Forks Western District. The din of trade and people, the smells of foods local and exotic mix in amazing ways. A new shop has opened recently. A craftsnam offering a wide array of goods. Everyone it talking about Hammering Heron and his marvalous goods. He has been charging reasonable prices for goods that are above average quality. His shop is on the edge of the district as it was hard to find a large enough space for him to work.
The Sign above the door has a Heron holding a hammer, nothing more. The craftsmanship is simple yet sturdy. Inside the shop is a wide array of goods ranging from potions and oils to weapons and armor as well as jewelry and fabrics.
At the counter stands a well muscled if plain looking young man with blue-green hair. He has a piece of charcoal in hand and appears to be scetching someone on a piece of slate.
Tepet Makara After commissioning a hooded cloak made with the finest material and designed with symbology of the Water Dragon and the Tepet mons with some subtle imagery of the moon. Makara walks around the Western district after paying it with Cynis money thanks to his salary from his work in one of their legion. He sighs boredly while looking around although he realizes he wants to expand his arsenal even if mundane. "Hmm, might probably buy a battle axe around here. If not, probably some javelins for practice both for me and my men"

Even if there are almost hundreds of smithys around here, the gossip leads him to shop's sign of a heron with a hammer and slowly walks into the entrance and heads for the counter. "Hello, do you have any javelins or battle axes in your stock? probably a few since sadly I cannot carry all of them" The man sees Makara clad in what seems to be a lamellar armor of "black jade" decorated with the mark of a Great House and some depictions of Danaa'd. The design seems to have the aesthetics from the days of the Shogunate, as if it was worn once by a daimyo.

Raullaur The door opens and in steps a tall lion. He wears unbleached linens with leather elbows and knees of very good quality, and has gold beads at the ends of his mane, but otherwise looks unarmed and unarmored. Still, he looks completely at ease and moves with understandably predatory grace. He makes his way in, and then lets out a soft whuff at seeing Makara in, and he steps to the side, tail flicking slightly behind him.
Hammering Heron Heron looks up at both of his new customers "Welcome gentlemen to my humble shop. I am Hammering Heron, the owner and craftman." He looks at Makara's armor with a smile upon his face. "I see that you are a member of house Tepet from the Realm." His accent says that he is not from Great Forks or the Realm. "I'm certain that I can make for you as many battle axes and javelins as you need." He sets down his drawing and grabs a piece of parchment and a fresh quill sliding them over to Makara.
"While the young lord writes out what he needs, how my I assist you my very unique guest? Do you seek oils to help your coat shine like gold in the sun or perhaps you have come looking for diadem to place upon your forehead?
Tepet Makara "I'll take a dozen of javelins and one battle axes. I'll mostly use them for practice uses both for me and my legionnaires" He nods at Raul while he sees him enter the shop as well. "Other than the weapons, I'll probably take a coat shine as well since I recently bought a new cloak"

"Hmm, I guess this shop is pretty new here in Great Forks? I usually visit here from Greyfalls"

Raullaur Raullaur laughs. "Oh, I had not thought you would have grooming oils here! I thought you dealt more with loth, leather, and metal." His deep bass purrs and rumbles in his riverspeak. "And as for a diadem?" Lips curl back from his muzzle in a leonine grin. "No. I am looking for...not-very-glamorous things. Not armor, but clothes. Not weapons, but harnesses and packs. And perhaps from there? Maybe weapons and armor for a large company."

He grins, "I need no diadem, but the oils are...definitely tempting and alluring." A deep chuckle, "I'll have to get us a contract somewhere not as soft..."

Hammering Heron Heron nods him head in understanding. "I have a coupld of axes here now. You can pick whichever one you like best. I have a barrel full of Javelins as well." He turns to the back of the shop and yells "Elowyn, bring up a dozen javelins wrap them in some oilskin for easy transport please!" He steps over to a large cabinet and pulls out three well made battle axes. One double bladed, one with a blade and a spike, the final one has a blade with a spike on top as well as a spike on the reverse side of the blade. "All the same price, like I said, take your pick."
He turns to Raullaur "I can make a great many things. I happen to have a bottle of the grooming oil. Please take it and let me know if it works well for you." He walks over to a table with several bottles on it and picks up a blue glass one. "Here we are." He tosses it towards Raullaur. The bottle almost floating on air as it drifts towards him making it an easy catch. He nods his head again. "Of course I can help with all of those things. I'm happy to setup a contract. A company you say? Are you interesting in some work? I'm always looking for rare and unusual crafting materials. I'm very good with my weapon but backup could be nice. I'll pay." He pauses to take a breath. "Sorry, we just met."
An older gentleman comes out of the back of the shop carring a bundle of javelins wrapped in cloth. He sets them on the counter, nods his head once, glances at Heron. Shakes his head and goes back into the back room.
Raullaur Raullaur seems to take the floating in stride, but does give a nod as he catches the bottle. "You may have heard of a bunch of lions here at the city--our tribe forms the Lions' Pride--and you won't find any better. I'd put them up against an equal number of the Brides of Ahlat...and expect to win. If you hear of the Golden Lion, that is me." He grins and flicks his ears, "As for a contract, I am sure we can come to an agreement."
Tepet Makara Once the javelins arrive and picks the axe of his choice, Makara then pays for it with the correct amount of money for the weapons. When the topic of certain materials was brought up, he then expresses his interest. "Ah, you are looking for some exotic materials? I hope to someday get an artifact weapon made with magical materials, maybe a grimcleaver or a fine spear. I'll probably help you find these materials but I don't know where to look first"
Hammering Heron "Those are fine weapon choices. The materials you need depend on what you want the weapon to do. Each artifact has a personality. Like a weapon for a war leader like our Golden Lion might call for the heart of a terrorsaur. We would have to spend some time discussing what it is that you want. I'm certain I could get my hands on some black jade to match your armor. Watery weapons could strike many foes with one blow like a tidal wave." He clears his throat. "Sorry, I get a bit carries away thinking about making things like that. I don't know that I'm ready to make an artifact of that caliber. Perhaps after I have had some time to hone my skills better."
Raullaur "I have arms and armor, but the Thearchs prefer I not carry them openly while peacable about the city," Raullaur says. "Though I do not know their original purpose, or personality. Perhaps they have fallen asleep, or died, andserve no greater purpose without be restored?" He shrugs, "They serve me well, so far, though." He shrugs slightly, but nods. "To striek many foes at once would be a blessing. To draw them to me so they ignore others..." He trails off, then. "So...where have you come from, Master Heron with Hammer? What brings you to this city?"
Tepet Makara "I mostly wear my armor almost everyday since sadly, I'm not as rich as Ragaras who can afford tons of servants of bodyguards that can protect or hide it. It could be easily stolen by thieves but I may find some countermeassure to store it in a secure place." Makara mentions it with concern since if he leaves it all alone back in his Greyfalls apartment, it may fall in the wrong hands or worse, deathknight hands.

"splendid, I'll probably return here once again if you have black jade. If I find some magical metals, I might mix it with the weapon"

Hammering Heron "I come from Lookshy. I did my time in the legion, then left. I've come here because I strive to find a way to give peace to the restless dead. They should not suffer as they do." He looks almost haunted when he speaks of the hungry ghosts. "Sorry, I left out that I am an exalt. One of the dragon blooded. I have been blessed wth the powers of air."
Heron gets a curious look upon his face. "Did you have some falling out with your family Tepet Makara? Would they not help you safeguard your armor?" He nods "I would be happy to attempt to mix black jade with one of the other magical materials."
Raullaur "I have met the dragon-blooded before, so when the bottle floated through the air..." Raullaur nods. "I have seen...and had to deal with...hungry dead that had been bound by a necromancer. Unpleasant, and I hope the rest well now."
Tepet Makara "I'm far away from the Blessed Isle and was from a let's just say...less rich small household known as the Iasomul. My young brother Tepet Serrel is the current household head but he's furious at me, all because I didn't attend his birthday when he exalted as an air aspect. I only got like half the inheritance money from my household thanks to him. Admittedly it's petty but I can't blame him for my occupation in Greyfalls made me busy and he comforted me once when I didn't exalt at that time when I was at the House Of Bells"

"Oh you are from Lookshy? I see, my house has some respect for Lookshy's Shogunate culture even if our relations to the Realm is strained." Once he hears he is an exorcist, he becomes more curious about it.

Hammering Heron Heron nods in head in understanding. "I have studied with the Wanasaan Exorcists and have taken up their cause. I am glad to hear that you have put some of them to rest. Perhaps I could teach you how to do this Tepet Makara if you do not already know." He pauses again and thinks for a moment. "How do you wear the armor of an exalt so easily if you yourself have not exalted?" He raises an eyebrow questioningly. "You wear it as a second skin telling me that you have mastered it in some fashion. Perhaps you will share that secret with me when we know each other better?"
"I have once more been beyond rude to those I have just met. please accept my apologies as I have tread on a delicate matter."
Tepet Makara "I'm actually exalted as a Water Aspect hence the black jade. My exaltation was during my 20s at the time when my house's legions were at the North. My instructor whose a monk even mentioned it's possible but rare for those in their 20s to exalt. Thanks to my second breath being late, I usually get called "Late Hatched Dragon" because of it."
Raullaur Raullaur chuckles in that deep purr of his. "Armor is good. As is a sword. Eventually, all you need is the /idea/ of armor. Of sword. And that is when things get truly interesting. As for rudeness, we are both trying to take your time at once. I think you ahve been very courteous to us both."
Hammering Heron "Ah, a very late exaltation indeed. It explains many things. My apologies if I have offended. When you said your brother consoled you, I though you had missed the second breath." Heron looks to Raullaur. "You are correct Golden Lion, mastering how to fight without weapons is a powerful tool indeed. I shall we here for some time I believe. I wish to visit the shadowlands nearby and study the restless dead. I hope to find a way to return them to the cycle of reincarnation. I have heard that a solar exalt was recently seen nearby. Do you know if there is any truth to the rumor?"
Raullaur Raullaur snorts. "The Thearchs will let any live here as long as they don't cause trouble in the city. And I have heard that the Sun's light shone bright in the Shadowlands recently, so yes, there's likely truth to the rumor...but any who flat out claimed it would be bold and reckless." He grins. "Bold, yes. I hope I am not reckless."
Tepet Makara "A Solar here? I haven't heard of that brightness in the shadowland before. If there is, I wonder what they were doing there" Makara says with concern in his voice about the anathema in the shadowland. "Hmm, coincidentally, I'm practicing how to banish some ghosts to Lethe but I have yet to have any progress on it"
Hammering Heron "Excellent, perhaps when you pass through again, we can make a trip out to the Shadowlands and do some investigating. I would like to do some testing on the soil from there as well to see what can be done with it. Perhaps I could make something for fighting the restless dead. Anything else that I could do for you gentlemen today? I would be glad to visit your camp to see what I can do for your company.
Raullaur "I'll be glad to show you, but another day," Raul says. "I know it may be a step down from your regular work, but still...these things can make the difference between a good campaign in the field, and not." He nods, gold beads jingling. "Be well, Heron, and I look forward to meeting again."
Tepet Makara "Going to the shadowland near Great Forks? sounds risky but in case you plan to, I may accompany you if the hordes of undead there are too many. But anyway, I have to leave for now but will return here if you do intend to go to the Field Of Endless Raitons"
