Silk Moon Lotus Having received Amethyst's letter Silk told her to come by the manor so she can help her friend out.
The manor is as ever a beautiful sight to behold the stonework gleams in the late afternoon light. The double doors are open allowing the cool breeze to pass through the building.
Silk has setup in one of the smaller parlors of the house with an array of cases, wigs, and trunks. She has dressed casually for the occasion wearing a simple tunic and silken pants both in a light cream color. To the casual observer, she would be almost unnoticable.
As is usual whenever someone visits, she has prepared a sideboard with an array of drinks and snacks. You never know when you will feel peckish.
Amethyst Amethyst, by contrast, is not one that particularly blends in. Her skin ever a shade of violet and the venerable ripetide of color that runs through her hair, saying nothing of her wyrd ears. And she goes about in her silken yet specially treated alchemist garb with all those pouches and pockets and what not. Curiously on one of her manyfold belts is a rather intricately carved mask.

She steps into the manor, and goes to find Silk, grabbing some cheeses on her way in. "Hey! You got my letter. And it's been a little bit since we've seen each other. How've you been?"

Silk Moon Lotus Silk smiles at her friend. "I'm glad to see you. I've been well. I just recently returned from a trip to the East. It was a very interesting trip. I found a Shogunate era outpost that was trapped in a wyld energy bubble." Silk gestures around the room. "What did you want to know about disguises?"
Amethyst "Ooooh that sounds cool. What'd you find in there?" Amethyst asks. And then she looks around the room, and takes in the various costume parts lined up around the room. She considers for a moment. She seems to consider something, but then nods.

"I can disguise myself fairly easily, but I need help creating an identity to go with the disguise. I'm... not particularly good at doing that." She explains. "My disguise was flawless, but the problem was that I couldn't think of convincing lies to go along with who I disguised myself as."

Silk Moon Lotus Silk nods her head in understanding. "So your physical disguise is good but you are still thinking of yourself as Amethyst the Water Dragon Alchemist. It took me some time to realize that you need to not only look the part but also play the part as well. It's all about mindset. If you think that you are now for instance Jasmine, the maid, you will become the maid." Silk gets up from her chair and adjusts her stance, the bearing of her shoulders, as she starts to walk across the room she now takes shorter, lighter steps so as to make less noise in hopes of not disturbing the master of the house. Her body language now looks like that of a servant instead of a Solar exalt.
She adjusts her posture back and the other woman almost disappears from sight instantly. "The outpost was enhabited by some creatures that had been warped by the wyld energy that had been trapped in a sorcerour working. I and a companion had traveled out there in hopes of discovering treasure. We did find some. We also find some trouble. The sorcerous working has been shut off."
Amethyst Amethyst considers, and nods. With a moment she gently undoes her belts and sets them each on the floor, leaving her just in her blue tunic. Then, perhaps unexpectantly, she starts to change shape. It's a flash of rainbows as she grows and changes, and then her clothes become like water, shifting along with her, until she looks like someone from the far east. Complete with what looks like handmade armor.

Dragons don't normally have the power to transform like that.

But she continues as though nothing is wrong, "So if say I was wantin' to play at being a hunter of the far east, I'd just try to get into that character. Or perhaps I could try being a servant as you like to hide as. I gotta think of some more...conspicuous roles to play as." She considers. It's notable that she even /sounds/ completely different, and her tattoes, fae features, and aspect markings look as though they were never there.

Silk Moon Lotus Silk nods her head in approval of the disguise itself. "Now tell me, who are you? What's your name. When did you arrive in town? What brings you to town?" Silk nods again. "Having a preferred appearance and character that you like to play helps you fall into the role easier. It's why you see the stage performers discussing things with the playwright so that they understand the character and the motivations." Silk walks over to the sideboard and grabs a handful of nuts. She starts walking slowly around Ames, "Again, the disguies itself is flawless from what I can see. The only thing that will give you away now are mannerisms and speech patterns that your new you wouldn't do."
Amethyst "I sounds like I oughta write stories about these people. Benefit is that I can just... invent them wholecloth. Downside is that I don't have too much experience doin' anything like that." Amethyst considers, "There is one role who've thought it pretty nicely tho, named One Perfected Elixer, whom is another who was touched by the wyld and escaped from the clutches of the ravagers in the southeast, making his way up north. At first he lived in Nexus, worked and sold to the guild until his debts outmatched him so he fled again, ending up this time in Great Forks."

"That's where Amethyst came in and stopped the Guild from selling him into slavery, making a deal with him that he'd work for her and she'd pay off his debt." Amethyst explains.

"...Of course none of that actually happened but I think that's about as close to a convincing story that I've managed so far." Amethyst grins. "I just thought I'd disguise myself as someone who /isn't/ an alchemist. this time around."

Silk Moon Lotus "With the power you just demonstrated you can assume any appearance that you desire. You can be an alchemist if you want in your alternate form. It could make the disguise easier as you can still perform your trade without anyone questioning why you know the many things that you do." Silk smiles "I think what you told me is plenty to pass as Amethyst's shop help."
Amethyst She grins and focuses again, this time assuming the shape of a lanky boy with some evident wyld mutations, little patches of scales here and there with a full on apron and pants, both much lower quality than the ones Amethyst herself wears. He grabs the belts and pouches and they rearrange too. He grins. "How do I look?"

"I think it'll also be beneficial since I can fake some of my magic with alchemy." He grabs a pinch of fire dust and rubs it along Amethyst's ritual dagger, seeming to cause it to ignite. "Little things like that so that I need not break my disguise to manifest the powers I hold."

Then he changes his stance, fully sinking into this role as a more nervous, less certain individual. "I might wanty to consider asking Amethyst to hire more help though, it's rough with it just being me while she goes out on her own adventures. Especially with some of her more..." He frowns, "Troublesome clients. A god came in the other day and demanded to speak with immediately! I don't know what trouble she's getting into but I really wish I didn't need to be a part of it."

"More help would be good. And I heard um, Silk right? That you're pretty well connected. You know anyone that might be able to lend a hand?"

Silk Moon Lotus "Yes, I'm Silk, the lady Ametyst happens to be a friend of mine. I'm sure I can find some qualified help to send over to discuss employment opportunities with her. I don't want to see you get hurt young man. That would not do at all." Silk nods her head. "I do know a few people with the skills to work in the shop that understand the product. I myself would be a terrible employee. I have sticky fingers you see." She hold up one of the pouches from him belt. and smiles mischieviously.
Amethyst He gets flustered and tries to snatch the pouch back. "How'd you do that?! Be careful with that, it's got vials of shimmering extract, if they break you owe me a new pouch!" He pouts.

But he then relaxes and nods, "I'll talk to Amethyst so that she can help this new fellow get up to speed. Tho I will say that Amethyst wants to make sure whoever this is can keep secrets after one particular person came in and claimed to be somethin' that you shouldn't say you are in public... Imagine just walking up to the counter and going 'Hi I'm a fae and I need you to help me.'" He shakes his head.

"And... Oh! Where's my manners? I'm One Perfect Elixer." He gives a little bow. "Humble alchemist servant of Yim Amethyst, at your service."

Silk Moon Lotus Silk tosses the pouch back to One Perfect Elixer. "I have magic hands and I might be a bit of a magician myself. I will make sure that the man I send over understands the value of keeping secrets." Silk nods her head once. "I know jsut the guy."
Silk grabs a pitcher of water from the table and pours herself a glass. "I believe I have told you all I can for the moment. I think you need to put it into practice at this point."
Amethyst The boy nods, and with another breath, the magic unravels and Amethyst is standing before Silk once more. "The only trouble with that power of mine is that I can't mask my anima. It's the same blue-green that it always is. But I may be able to hide it entirely with the right technique." She breaths and takes a glass of water herself, taking a seat.

"And using that power...takes quite a bit out of me." She says between breaths. "Still getting used to it."

"I'll need to actually pretend to be Elixer in my shop sometimes. I should find him a hobby aside from alchemy too, since he's not the type to infinitely experiment like I am." Amethyst considers, "But I think I understand the gist of how to make new identities now. I... already kinda did." She gives a little grin.

Silk Moon Lotus Silk chuckles "It's addictive, isn't it?" She takes a drink from her glass. "You, he should want to do other things. Go shopping as him, perhaps let him cook. Do what feels natural for him."
"I must admit I'm curious about this power you have. I have a few tricks that let me disguise myself as pretty much anyone I've met."
Amethyst Amethyst nods, "It's quite fun. And that makes a lot of sense, spread the fact that he's my new assistant around, help establish a reputation of his own through me, that sorta thing. Just have an alternate identity in case I ever need to disappear for some reason." She grins.

"As for my power? This is just the start, I assure you. But one could say that the latent wyld in my soul has finally loosened up enough that I can channel its power now. I have /plans/, and hopefully I can make good on them."
