Misa Coming through one of the coldest months of the year, one could be forgiven for looking forward to the coming of the wet seasons and the warming months of Descending Water and onwards. It's certainly not a pleasant day outside- it's not a terribly frosty part of the world, drawing this close to the south, but similarly it is not the warmths of the South proper- the proprietor of this abandoned, reclaimed, and converted shrine is certainly bundled in her robes today as she practices.

Unusually, for her, she has no sword in hand. Rather she stands at a wooden dummy, carved pieces of wood running through it to loosely emulate limbs and the like getting in the way. She goes through the motions of a rather murderous-seeming martial arts form, striking into the places where a real person would have joints and organs other areas that would most exacerbate the fatigue and damage of existing injuries.

The dull 'thock' noise continues in something resembling a rhythm, ringing out to the road to the east and the river that abuts the shrine grounds to the west.

Vetiver Mirror Ah to be a student again. Vetiver has tried to don what one might assume a god would wear to a training session. A stereotypical gi made of fabric too fine for the hard labor one expects in training. Golden tassels along the belt, and large green ribbons keep the sleeves tied in place. She sits on a simple wood bench watching Misa go through her forms, kicking her legs idly as she observes.

"But like, how does all this translate into swordsmanship?" holding up her own arms, the fabric of he clothes doing nothing to hide the rather small appendages. "Not sure I would be much good at punching things?"

Misa Misa glances over her shoulder at Vetiver, brow rising a little- though it's hard to tell, her bangs are quite long.

"I am engaging in my own practice, at present. I believe I told you- what you need to be doing for the moment is engaging with those unusual swords of yours. It is one thing to be attuned- it is another to know the flow of your essence through them well enough to let that be the only thing required to wield them," she explains, turning back to the dummy. "While I can, ostensibly, guide meditations- at some juncture you will need to know this well enough alone. The style you seek is more spiritual than physical, in terms of one's own body and mind. Though, for the record- this style I practice now is also used with swords of many sorts."

Amethyst The weather does not seem to bother the dragon-blooded as she finds her way up the river, cutting through the water with ease. Wearing a blue tunic treated to resist the water and alchemical debris, with many, many pouches, now all treated to be rather water-tight too, she emerges from the river bank by Misa's dojo.

Slicking her hair back she grins, and gives a little bow, "I do hope I'm not interrupting too much."

Vetiver Mirror Vetiver looks too her swords both of which are propped laissez faire against the bench next to her. The twin pair of strange crochet needle like blades sans-sheaths remain unmoved by the God's stern gaze and continue to provide no feedback to how she might employ them. Groaning in frustration she stretches out along the bench. "Right, right meditate. Got it." Looking like she is about to fall asleep rather than deeply think on the matter of swords.

An ear perking at the sound of another voice. "Another student of yours?" glancing up to Misa while straightening up and at least trying to look a little like she is trying to meditate."

Misa Misa pauses at the newer voice, straightening up and adjusting the sleeves of her rather thick robe. She turns, head tilted a little, to assess Amethyst's approach.

"We've met... once. Certainly not a student of mine, however. An alchemist, if I recall? And something of a sorcerous sort as well," she comments, almost more analytical than explanatory in tone. She steps a short way across the grassless training ground as Amethyst comes around the raised stone platform.

"Good afternoon. What brings one by from such... unusual directions, if I might?"

Amethyst "An alchemist indeed. I am Yim Amethyst, prodigal dragon-blooded alchemist of Great Forks."

"Gotta get a better title for myself." She muses. And then she looks back towards the river and then to the water she's trailed behind herself.

"Honestly? I felt like changing up the pace a little bit." She explains, her long, pointed ears twitching a little. "Swimming rather than just walking, help me build up my muscles and all of that."

"As to why I'm here, I dunno I was reminded that a rather impressive martial artist had made claim to this shrine and turned it into her Dojo, and wanted to meet her more properly." She explains, offering a hand.

Vetiver Mirror Some mental math goes through the god's head and Vetiver Mirror makes a noise of recognition. The name would be familiar. "Amethyst the alchemist? You are Rishi's partner are you not?" leaving her swords against the bench and stands to great the guest almost floating across the space between. "I'm so glad we are finally meeting I'm-uh" Realizing quickly that she is being rude as the alchemist is here for Misa, pauses to let the two speak. Trying to be on good behavior.
Misa A quirk of the brow again as Misa looks at the small student of hers. "Speak as you please- I am not so formal, of late." Even that statement, though, is shot through with the tones of one who was brought up in considerable formality- and maybe... perhaps not the Lookshyan sort, by her accent, despite her looks?

"Hanase Misa," she answers in turn, nodding her head and taking the hand for a moment. "Certainly seems to have started to get around- one wonders if further students may begin to arrive. We shall see, I suppose. Welcome, in any event, and do be at ease."

Amethyst Amethyst's looks surprised as Rishi is mentioned. She gives a nod to Vetiver, "I suppose I shouldn't be surprised that our relationship is known by others. Do you happen to know Rishi yourself?"

And Amethyst does ease back, "Actually I was curious about martial arts, having not had the pleasure of seeing them in action very often."

Unfortunately for both Amethyst and Misa, Amethyst's hand is /ice cold/, cold as the water of the river, which given the season is likely quite frigid. Despite this Amethyst herself is clearly perfectly fine, no shivering and not even any goosebumps are present.

Vetiver Mirror "Hard to tell as stiff as you are sometimes." Giving Misa a friendly smile with the light tease. "Vetiver Mirror, goddess of favorable reflections." Introducing herself to the young Dragonblooded. Fluffy tail flicking to and fro, happy for any kind of distraction from training at the moment. "Oh I've been staying at the temple of the Goddess of Flowing Waters." She explains. "I've picked up a little bit, but I admit I was mostly guessing about your relationship. Even when talking about you in passing I swear you could see it in her eyes."

Looking up to Misa she nods. "I mean you recruited a god, surely you will have applicants queuing at the door in no time."

Misa The hand temperature isn't Misa's -favourite- thing... but she's hardy enough to simply deal, for now, it seems. She inclines her head a little.

"I am afraid there are not many terribly grand displays here unless challengers come by- as I noted, students are not many, and this present one is in something of a still phase, for... a couple of reasons," she comments, head shaking slightly.

"And for all that I have some noteworthy people for students, I am... simply not a terribly charming person. It is a surprisingly large part of gathering a student base."

Amethyst "Oh, I do remember Rishi saying something about that," Amethyst says, looking to the god. "Good to be meeting you. And yes Rishi is not the most... deceptive person, for sure." She chuckesla little.

"Hum, I see." The alchemist says to Misa, then she considers, "Would you like any help in, say, recruiting? If you're a good teacher of martial arts, I know folks that could help push more students your way."

Vetiver Mirror Yellow eyes glittering in the light she tilts her head a bit at the comment. "Deceptive? Is it a secret?" giving an easy shrug "I meant only that it is clear she cares deeply for you. Forgive me it was not my intent to air your private affairs." Turning she returns to her blades picking them up without any kind of apparent skill or reverence despite their delicate appearance. "I have no idea what your talking about Misa. Your glowing personality is what attracted me here."
Misa "I'm certain," Misa answers to Vetiver with a sort of wry sarcasm in it.

She looks at Amethyst, considering a moment. "I am not entirely opposed, but I also am not an -especially- wealthy woman, at this moment. Nor am I looking to go from this small place to some grand temple overnight- I am still growing accustomed to the element of tutelage."

Amethyst "Incidentally, I happen to be fairly wealthy myself and might be looking for... mmm, places to invest in?" The Dragon smiles. "Obviously things take time, but I do quite like the idea of backing some variety of dojo. Start small, grow." And Amethyst makes a blooming sort of gesture.

"As for Rishi," Amethyst looks towards Vetiver, "I merely meant deceptive in the academic sense. Keeping one's cards close to the chest. It's definitely no secret that the two of us are in a relationship among those who know us personally."

Vetiver Mirror Vetiver nods as she sheaths her weapons and slings them over her back. "Well sounds like you all have business. Advertisin,g patronage and the like." Giving a big stretch she gives a polite bow. " I'll be back at the same time Misa." Fist in hand she gives a slightly more formal bow than normal. Waving behind her. "It was a pleasure meeting you, Amethyst. I hope we can meet again someday."
Misa "I should note, before this conversation goes especially far, that this endeavour is not finance-first, in a manner of speaking," notes Misa, simply and matter-of-factly. "In fact, I would not put recompense among my three most notable motivations, if that adjusts your intentions at all."
Amethyst Amethyst considers for a moment, "No, not really. Honestly I came here to challenge you and see your skills first hand, and to try to make a new friend. I figure if I help with your dojo maybe sometime if I'm in trouble you can help me in return."

"Besides, if what I heard is true then having you on my side would be a good thing, just, regardless." She smiles.

Misa "It would seem rumours abounds, when it comes to me, of late. I do wonder what the nature of these particular ones might be?" Misa muses, more curious than anything.

"If such is the thought, then certainly that is fine. I do not turn away challengers, as a general rule. More often, however, I will ask what sort of form one would wish to face against. I know some... three or four, at this point."

Amethyst "I've just heard that you were something of a master of martial arts, is all." She grins.

Then Amethyst considers, "I'm... not actually sure what sorts of martial arts you know. Perhaps we could talk more over a cup of tea?"

Misa "Sword styles, by and large- though some... lesser faculty with barehanded forms," Misa explains, shrugging slightly. "If you would like the details... certainly, we can do that."
