Lintha Sennong Bakunawa "Damned Nexus cheats, I'm never gonna buy from that store ever again" Bakunawa says with frustrations since the usual weapons dealer back in the filthy nest of the Guild has decided to raise his prices while the quality is low. "I might as well buy stones painted red to make fake copper" He says with spite while walking in the streets of Great Forks. Besides taking his mind off his troubles in Nexus, he waits for a particular friend from the nations of the Dreaming Sea but it seems he hasn't arrived in the hotel. "I wonder what's taking Radamantus so long, he hasn't even arrived in the hotel we are staying in. He would love this place since there are lots of godbloods like him"

Since his lov-friend hasn't arrived in Great Forks yet, he decides to check if there are any weapons stores or black smiths in Great Forks especially the eastern quarters.

Lin There is indeed a thriving side street of arms sellers and arms makers near the military quarters of Great Forks. It's grown in recent times. But everyone's pointing towards that one workshop with the simple bold sign nailed over the door. A flat, polished wooden sign that spells out "Lin's Workshop" in emerald green inlaid against a silvery backdrop.

The chimney is belching noxious smoke, and the shop appears to be open!

Of course, the front door's easy to open. A little bell catches if it is.

The main floor is separated into two sections. A third of it is the showroom where customers walk straight into, which is ringed by stands and displays showing off some of her workk. Full sets of articulated plate mail holding enormous swords in imposing postures ring the walls, while the counters show off a number of useful weapons and tools, big and small.

The main counter closes off access to the workshop floor, though it's plainly visible for all to see. An absolute mess of tools and projects in various states of completion, ranging from pieces of armor sets to farming tools, barber blades and surgical scalpels. It seems no job is beyond her ability, although she vastly prefers working with metal...

One person mans - well, womans - the floor at the moment. A young lady with fiery red hair bound into a tight ponytail, who's currently in the midst of work of fixing a hammer head onto its handle. Despite the grime of the furnace and heat of the work, she's looking swanky, without even the gleam of sweat marring her composed face. It's as if the dirtiness of the work just refuses to touch her...

Lintha Sennong Bakunawa "Hello there! I'm surprised that there is only one person that mans this place" He speaks with a Southwestern accent. Bakunawa is surprised by the shop's seeming efficiency even if there is only one person here that does the manpower. He assumes this is the owner. "You're Lin I presume? It seems your work here is impressive even if you lack employees that work with you. Like a one man crew for a ship" Bakunawa is impressed with the metalwork inside whether weapons or armor being built. That reminds him he should get a powerful weapon of his own someday but where? "My name is Bakunawa, captain of a mercenary company. We usually do escort jobs for Guild ships in the Dreaming Sea"

"Just wandering around the east quarter if there are any good weapons stores here. My usual shops are in Nexus but one of them fell off my favor. They have disappointed me with their metalwork"

Lin Upon hearing the jingle, Lin looks up and over towards the entrance, setting the half-finished hammer down and smoothly hurrying over to the counter and putting on her best game face, a beaming 'lets do business' smile.

"That'd be me, alright! And thanks. Keepin' a place running like this ain't easy... I've usually got some apprentices helpin' out but they're all busy with other stuff right now."

With introductions out of the way, she looks the man over... he's only a few inches taller, but the rough getup and scars nevertheless lead to her shoulders tightening a bit with apparent intimidation.

The lass's eyes trace those scars and tattoos for a very noticeable five seconds or so. "Can't read it but I sure do recognize it... that's the tongue of the far west, isn't it? Red hair... manner of speech... huh. Had you not mentioned the Dreaming Sea I'd've figured you're a dead ringer for hailing from somewhere around An-Teng... red hair's not exactly common 'round here." Not that she's one to talk, bearing one head full of it herself. Course, her features are common in this melting pot region...

"Welcome to my workshop, Captain. If it's fine metalworks you're after, well..." She glances, left and right. "Came to the right place. Whatcha lookin' for, exactly?"

Lintha Sennong Bakunawa "Actually I am from the West although I've only been in An Teng once or twice. Well the story of how my men got into the Dreaming Sea is a complicated one since let's just say it involves a bordermarch. We originally planned to return but uhm my men caused a lot of trouble for some group back at our direction so we decided to settle in the Southeast with the help of a Ysri prince" He coughs since the memory of his time back at the bordermarch was unpleasant especially since they almost died.

"I am looking for standard yet quality weapons like swords and javelins. Other than that, firedust, bows and arrows. The ranged weapons are for the nastier monsters a mortal would die fighting up close." He then wonders about something in his mind. "But other than that, I may order the creation of a great personal sword someday if I get enough money or material. I forgot it's type, but it's the one used for Devil Prince Sword Style"

Lin Lin soaks in the tale with almost awkward fixation, practically staring with amazement throughout most of it. "B...bordermarches?! Spirits be praised you and your men got out of there at ALL... that's quite an uprooting to suffer... hope fortune's turned out better in the end."

She finally nods in acknowledgement of the tale. "Lessee... can easily handle most of that. Don't keep a stock of firedust around but can put in some orders with the right people." It might be the imagination, but her lips twist slightly into an almost-scowl at saying 'right people.'

Of course, the only people around who could get a hold of any significant quantity of Firedust this far east would be Guild-oriented.

"Devil Prince? S'that anything like the Steel Devil practiced by the lady who runs a school outside of town? ... Don't suppose you have any examples of this sword laying around if not?" Her eyes glaze over briefly as she starts rummaging through memories no doubt, trying to think about exotic swords...

Lintha Sennong Bakunawa "The way we survived that was silly, since there was a god that blessed our travels in those waters. I don't expect that to be believable so I don't care if people think it's a lie or not" He says with amusement regarding the deity that became their savior but then focuses on the topic of the martial art in question. "I remember that martial art uses chopping swords and mainly the auhzian hook swords. It's used by my people that worships a great sea goddess, although I now focus on revering the god that saved my crew as a thanks"
Lin "You don't expect it to be believable that a god saved your bacon, in the City of Temples." Lin remarks in flat, dry disbelief, lips curling wryly. "Try me."

She quickly shifts to the other topic...blinking a few times. "Hook swords... oh..." A few gears are starting to click it seems, Lin's eyes slowly widening. She briefly brings a hand to her hip and glances Bakunawa over anew. "Hooked blades that are great for disarming and misdirecting... mebbe even climbing aids..."

Yup. The clues are starting to fall into place right.

"WOW are you in unfamiliar waters now, Captain... yeah. Those won't be a problem... but if my hunches are right, if I were you, I'd keep talk about that... PARTICULAR... sea goddess on the down low around here. Her sort and the sort that are everywhere here don't quite see eye to eye on things..."

Lintha Sennong Bakunawa "Oh right, I'm not in Nexus right now" Bakunawa chuckles especially since stories like that are believable due to literal gods, their half divine children and their champions. Most people in a bar in Nexus would think he is exaggerating even if gods are real. "oh yeah, those hook swords are the auhzian types if I remember" But once he realizes the blacksmith knows what he meant, his tone changes into being serious. "Oh you know about her. Some people who know of my heritage suggests that I claim I am a child of Siakal although I don't know if they'd rather prefer a bloodthirsty war goddess that makes Ahlat look sane or the "sea goddess" herself. Well you remember that I told you I got in trouble while I was in the West right? Well...my men were escaped slaves or those that want to disagreed with the oppression from a certain city if you know about the goddess. We had no choice but to flee to dangerous waters"
Lin "Hmmmm. I suppose for the typical seafarer who's not trying to wage war, neither is likely to be on their side." Lin surmises, tapping her chin. "Good thing you're over here in the East for now?" Her dry almost sarcastic tone needs little explanation, given how chaotic all of Creation is right now.

"That's quite a tale though, Captain. The scars tell their own story too, even if I can't read all of 'em... so... which god gave you a helping hand?"

Lintha Sennong Bakunawa "For the scars, they are caused by several reasons like duels and some rites back at my old city in the West. Although I am a warrior, let's just say I was part of the city's priesthood where my role is a speaker and summoner to the goddess's other children...if you know what I mean" Bakunawa gives a fake cough as it should be an indication on what those spirits are. "Well the east can be a mess both in the Scavenger Lands and the Southeastern nations. Even if it's the same in almost all directions, it is a good opportunity for me and my men to make a name for themselves but I certainly won't work for those self righteous Prasadis and their faith."

"Since we are seemingly the only ones of our kind to be in the Southeast, we do not have competition from other septs save for the nations and other pirate groups" When it comes to the identity of the god that saved him, Bakunawa speaks of him in a warry manner. "Ah the god, he did not give a name but let's just say he is similar to the Golden Lord in An Teng. My men and I call him "Shining Saviour That Pierces Through The Storm". A silly name since I admit that something a god of lighthouses would have" He says with sarcasm due to the title

Lin "Similar to..." Lin finds herself mumbling that out in echo.. and briefly presses her lips together thinly in quandary at that pondering. "I... see... a god aligned with justice and light... not a lot that stand out there. Iiiiinteresting. The few I'm thinking of are... more or less well-received here, the few little Immaculate Philosophy devotees notwithstanding..." She explains, though he probably knew that.

"So.. if you wanna draft up the full details for the order, we can talk price and time to completion... 'cept the firedust, I need to go consult with contacts on that part. Stuff's at a premium this far East. ... wait, firewands aboard wooden ships...?" Lin's imagination does not have an accurate envisionment of combat at sea, of course, so god only knows what she's imagining as her gaze glasses over again in that 'deep in thought' way often seen by eccentric intellectuals...

"A... freelancer mercenary captain with some summoning know-how, I never imagined my little workshop'd be getting a customer like you. And how you liking Great Forks here? I know another mercenary man... Lion-man, really... who's been having great luck around here. World's pretty chaotic right now, no shortage of that line of work.."

Lintha Sennong Bakunawa "Sometimes I wonder why that god saved me even if I'm such as scoundrel. Sure, I helped those slaves and uhh "thinbloods" escape, but I can be materialistic at heart and I do jobs just for the money" It still something that baffles him to this day for the god that "saved" him choose a pirate much less a demonblooded one. "Sure, I'll draft the details and I can be patient when it comes to the firedust part. Of course we carefully use firedust weapons as long as they do not hit parts of the ship but we freely use them in land battles."

When Lin mentioned a lionman, it seems Bakunawa recognizes him. "Ah Raul, a great warrior. I wish my men and his men may meet someday as allies in battle I hope. Speaking of mercenaries, I may try to find more contractors other than guildsmen to expand my horizons."

Lin "Hey, some virtues are universal. Even some greater demons value things like shows of skill, bravery, and fighting for a cause." Lin exclaims in an attempt to be sympathetic, though her choice of words might not be the greatest.

"The world's cruel sometimes, y'know..." She mumbles out a moment later, face shifting to a flinched scowl. "I've been burned... pretty badly by a few nasty turns. Only thing that saved my bacon was quick wits and playing dirty a bit. You don't seem like a... complete scoundrel?"

She finally manages to get that out there, though the delivery needs work.

She is an artisan, not a counselor. It shows.

"Even then, people change. People can change a lot." She blinks a few times as he mentions being on good terms with Raullaur, and then finally smiles.

"So... it's getting close to closing time here. An acquaintance of Raullaur's is welcome to stick around though. Maybe even have a look at the... special stock."

Lintha Sennong Bakunawa "Well I did command my men to get a grip while we were on the whirlpool." Bakunawa speculates on the possible reason why the god blessed their travels. "Ah I see you have a fair share of sufferring yourself in your life. But yeah, I don't seem to be a complete money lover since I care for the lives of my men" Since she mentioned it's closing time, he gives a nod to Lin. "well since it's near closing time, i hope I can see your special stock next time I visit. I have to return to my hotel in an hour in case my love...I mean friend arrives in Great Forks"
