Nine Roads Alani The glow of the lanterns is about all that's left to see the Arena by at this time of night. With the sky largely overcast all day, the few remaining people in the Arena quietly walk here and there, chatting in two's and three's or finally finishing up that last drink and stumbling on home. For a small mercy, the air has cooled from the swelter of the day, and a breeze has kicked up from the direction of the water.

There's a figure in a tan and black robe, leaning against the wall outside the East gate. The breeze ruffles the folds of the robe and the figure's straw colored hair. The hood of the robe rustles in the breeze, occasionally letting the tanned, pointed chin show up against the nearest lantern a dozen feet away. The person is doing precisely nothing important, just watching and waiting, but this is an awfully late time of night to be doing that and not be up to something.

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Wandering Thunder has finished cleaning up from her fight earlier and it now ready to walk back to her inn room for the night. She has pulled back the hood of her cloak once more to reveil her bald head. Sometime soon she plans to give up this identity and let her hair grow back. Using her staff as more of a walking stick she heads out of the arena proper and looks around at the city's night life. Oh how she has missed the parties after a good battle. Maybe a celebratory drink is in order.
Lucky Raven In the wake of the fights proper there has been a little bit of a sideshow- though the drunks amused by the tricks are perhaps starting to disperse or fall asleep. Things seem to be winding down.

For about an hour now, a poorly-kempt woman in a remarkable golden gauntlet has had rings of colourful runes swirling about that gauntlet, using that and some form of magic to strike bottles set up by drinkers or tossed into the air by the more excitable with a mix of conjured stones and seemingly razor-sharp monkshood flowers and leaves. But the less-than-pleasant-smelling crowd has died off, and with a final flourishing bow the performer leaps with a sudden gust of wind, hurtling a good twenty feet over their heads and towards the exit- to some amount of slurred applause and the summary dispersement of the dregs of the audience to find some new amusement in the evening.

She lands straight into a casual amble along, lifting the armoured hand in a friendly wave to the robed woman by the gate as she passes.

Tepet Makara Makara was surprised by the outcome of the battle as a simple "un-exalted" monk won over a prince of the Earth. "Damn, the battle kept me in the edge of my seats" The false dragon mutters to himself while ordering an entire bottle of gin all for himself. Still, there was something awfully familiar about the mortal as if he meet her in the past. Maybe it's someone that looks like her?

Since there were still some people here, he decides to stay for a while in places outside the arena before heading back to Greyfalls and getting nagged at by his indulgent satrap. He simply wanders around

Nine Roads Alani "Careful there, honey," a contralto voice calls out. "Wouldn't want to let the monks know there's yet someone else around with some real fire, or wind, or whatever in their veins."

The figure in tan robes steps away from the wall, and even white teeth show in an insouciant grin from underneath the hood. She approaches the woman in rags...who just leapt twenty feet towards the gate entrance. "Not that there aren't enough interesting folk in this town to keep a girl on her toes," the hooded figure adds. "Does make things rather..." She pauses, eyeing the vibrant gauntlet the young woman wears. "...colorful. Don'tcha think?"

Scarlet Onyx Sunada The sound of non drunken talking draws Wandering Thunder's attention. She turns to look at the speaker to see the tan and black robed woman speaking to someone else. She walks over casually to find out what's happening.
"Good evening to you both. I see you had the sense to not drink yourself stupid on the arena's overpriced drinks." She plants her staff casually on the ground and leans on it ever so slightly. "Are either of you in need of the assistance of a priest?" She smiles warmly. The blue of her eyes trinkling.
Lucky Raven "Pleeeaaaase," says Raven, head shaking as her eyes roll off to the side. Her voice almost sounds borderline affronted by the very concept. "Find me a monk I couldn't outsmart before they tried to push me into a monastery."

"Besides!" she adds, lifting her left arm and jabbing at the decidedly unimpressive flesh of her bicep repeatedly. "Do I really look like I do martial arts to you? I am a -sorcerer-, and an explorer, and a scholar, and a surprisingly good swimmer. I have enough on my plate! Not that I own any plates. A merchant, I also ain't. Yet."

She pauses, and her eyes narrow, as the newcome woman walks up and half-introduces herself. She looks to Thunder, then back to the robed lady with blatant suspicion. "Oh, of course, I get it, big setup, you two coordinated this. Isn't it a rule that if you work for the triumvirate or the Scarlet mepire, and I ask, you have to tell me?"

Tepet Makara However while walking amidst the crowd, he sees a familiar sight for the unexpected victor of the last battle is present outside the Arena. Out of curiosity, he approaches the "mortal" monk. But once he gets up close, it seems he meet her before. "Sorry to interrupt but congrats on your victory.....and oh we've meet before"

"Admittedly I was surprised you have beaten the scion of Pasiap. I guess even the princes of the earth like myself can fall due to hubris"

Nine Roads Alani The robed woman's grin gets even wider, and she chuckles out loud. "Honey, I wouldn't know, seeing as how I don't work for the Empire." She pauses and looks at the priest walking up.

"Hm. Interesting," she comments. "If you want someone who works for them, though, I daresay you can get your questions answered. Or...times two, I guess," she adds as Makara arrives as well. "I think you can relax, though, hon. She's not a joke in the ring, I'll grant you, but she's fought once already today." The hooded figure smirks beneath her hood. "I could take her. Not that I expect to have to try. Anyway, you can call me Elena. Nice to meet ya."

As Makara greets Wandering Thunder, Elena half-turns to try to get everyone in the same conversation, at least a bit. She nods in agreement with Makara. "Yeah, I caught your fight, too. That -was- nicely done. Pebbles-for-brains was a blowhard, yeah, but I'm sure he could hit like a behemoth...if he could have ever hit you."

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Wandering Thunder nods her head. "I do not work for the Empire or the Triumvirate whomever they are. I'm am exactly what you see, a monk who decided to enter a contest to test my skill against other warriors. I regret that my opponent underestimated my skill at arms. He would have indeed hurt me very badly if he had ever been able to land a solid blow on me."
Glancing at Makara "It is nice to see you again Winglord. I hope you enjoyed your viewing?" She looks at the others "Well met, as you already know, I'm Wandering Thunder."
Lucky Raven "Oh I think I know plenty enough about the scarlet empire for my tastes," says Raven simply, shrugging it off as easily as she worked herself up.

"Anyways, nice to meet you Elena and what brings these other two of you to our little impromptu in-depth discussion on the legalities of obfuscation of one's political and occupational affiliations?" continues the wood aspect, speaking about as quickly as one can without ceasing to be properly understood. "Oh, right, you're that monk that caused the big fuss- love seeing the upsets, wish I'd had any money to put on it. I guess congrats, Wandering Thunder. Guess I skipped myself? I'm Lucky Raven, or Raven, or That Pest to my non-friends."

Fudou the Mountain A slight distance above...

A particularly robust fellow sits upon the edge of a stone building of a few stories in height just outside of the main walls of the arena itself. Likely some sort of storage house of various items of no particular interest.

Of far more potential interest is the fellow himself. Mammoth, swollen with muscle, distinc tin his proportions and scale - Fudou the Mountain.

His long legs hang over the edge, kicking back and forth idly with the restlessness usually associated with adolescents while a meaty hand raises up a large jug full of..something or another..and messily downs its contents bit by bit as he observes the traffic below. He's not exactly hiding, per se, but he's neither being particularly showy outside of just being himself. If one has a reason to look up, he'll be spotted eventually...

Tepet Makara "I did enjoy the viewing even if I'm afar. Originally I didn't plan to watch it but thankfully my satrap didn't give out any orders for me yet at that time" Makara nods to Wandering Thunder while wondering what sort of technique she used to beat the Earth Aspect. Sorcery? Martial Art he doesn't know about? or maybe that scion of Pasiap was actually weak at fighting despite his strength? either way he is impressed. "I wish I could fight in the arena someday but I am preoccupied. I am still honing my skills in Water Dragon style after all"
Nine Roads Alani Elena looks about to comment further on Wandering TYhunder's bout when there's the obligatory ominous overshadow. (Ooo!) She blinks and looks up, curious but not necessarily wary. The overshadow, of course, was caused by cloud cover. But Fudou is also still there! Enjoying his jug of a no doubt potent potable, taking in the blessedly cooler night air, and...well, looming. He looks like he's good at looming.

Elena grins and points. "Well! Looks like you're not the only competitor still out and about. Take a look up there. Hard to miss."

Scarlet Onyx Sunada "Elena was it, well met, are you a fan of the fights? I know I'm not supposed to enjoy it so much but it's invigorating to cut loose every once in a while."
She looks over at Makara "The Water Dragon is a well respected style for any child of the dragon. I myself have been studying Golden Janissary style. Not as useful in a tournement like this but not without it's advantages."
Wandering Thunder looks up and rather commandingly says "Come down and join us for drinks, I'm buying." She lifts up a rather full coin purse. "One of the benefits of being a traveling monk is that you get to spend your stipend however you want."
Lucky Raven At Elena's notation, Raven looks upwards at the... indeed looming shadow of Fudou. Rather than comment from below, she leaps in another great upsurge of wind- and launches herself well into the air to be eye level with the man for just a moment. "Gonna have a drunk fall and crush some people!" she says swiftly before gravity takes its inevitable toll, and she lands among the group of normal-sized folks once again.

"Wait. Since when do travelling monks drink, or have -that- much silver to throw around? Weren't you the one just saying drinks here are waaaaaay too much?" she questions, hands going to her hips in a gesture more naturally-dramatic than aggressive.

Fudou the Mountain A loud *pop* occurs as Fudou pulls the jug from his mouth and turns his attention down towards the group below and then lift up to watch as Raven reaches his height and then drops back downward.
His eyes squint curiously and then a big grin creases his features. Teeth practically glinting in their large full grin against teh shadows cast on his face in a stark almost graphic like look as he studies those gathered below.

He then promptly reaches down with his free hand, pushes himself up from the wall, griping it tightly in a single arm near hand stand before pushing off and vaulting from the wall to drop down towards the group like an incoming meteor.

his approach is..potentially smashing to say the least. It's possibly unclear on if he intends to land right ontop of them or not until ...the very last instant when he, by either luck, or deliberate movement, makes a landing just to the side. A heavy *TOOM* resulting from his impact that causes those nearby to no doubt bounce up a few inches from the ground and sends unsecured wares sprwaling.

Hardly has the dust settled is his deep voice booming out a rumbling, "Hello there!"

Nine Roads Alani "Well," Elena murmurs. "I remember you, big guy. Silk introduced us, I think, didn't she?" She chuckles. "Long time no see, it's been all of a few hours. Hello and well met to yourself." She pauses and looks appraisingly at Lucky Raven. "Heh. That's a nice trick, hon. I should learn that sometime." There's some dry irony there, though it's not immediate as to why. Maybe we should all go to Sagacious Hora's for noodles or something before they close...and before someone else drops in." She looks up. "Literally."
