Tiziri A figure dressed in desert robes wanders the stalls as the evening sun starts to complete its final descent below the horizon. the shadows grow. The oil lamps and magical things starts to come out to give a dancing illumination to go with the lengthening shadows. Either way, the robed figure ends up stopping beside one of the food stalls making a stir fried noodle dish alongside some very, very spicy looking red peppers. the young woman has a grin on her face that makes her look quite eager for it too.
Ignis Busy, busy, busy. The competition has dominated much of the activity in Great Forks. It's hard to not fdiscuss the spectacle of the Princes of the Earth and exceptionally talented mortals and the occasional exigent give their all in the name of glory and honor. It's infectious. It's all consuming.

It's a litle overwhelming and frustrating at that. Ignis opted to stay out of the competition due to a combo of personal business and concern about revealing himslf to the masses.

Now he's utterly lost and disconnected from the activities of his peers and current events and he does dislike being in the dark about matters worth his attention. So he wanders the stalls of the markets outside of the arena and the bazaars that have set up in the wake of the contest to take advantage of the peoples needs. His wanderings take him near to the figure dressed in desert robes as he also looks to both noodles and peppers with idle curiousity.

"Well perhaps this will make the days less boring."

Tiziri The stall claims to have the spiciest noodles in the city! Admittedly, that's a claim made by about ten other stalls within 200 meters of here, so take it with a grain of fire salt. All the same, it still smells good. The girl with blue hair in the robes of a nomad from the deep south continues to stand there looking excited until they are handed over. "Thank you." She says, taking up her eating sticks and then turning in time to see Ignis, and hear him.

"Good evening." Tiziri says with a little smile. "Nice little day. Have you had these before?" She wonders as she picks up some noodles and blows on them to cool off the ambient heat. "First time for me, but it smells delicious."

Ignis "I have not." answers Ignis, looking at Tiziri thoughtfully until some recognition dawns on him. He smiles slightly and then continues, "I'm not sure that I do well with spicey foods but I'm also up to a challenge and new things. Of course -he- wants me to buy but why don't you sell me on how good these are?"

He inclines his head, waiting for her to do a taste test.

Tiziri "You can tell I'm from the South yes? Dreaming Sea?" Her accent at least belies that, she doesn't hide it. "Spice runs in my veins. I'm merely hoping that this can live up to things I had growing up." Tiziri has a wide grin as she says that. Yes, she's eager. Then she takes a bite and her eyes close as she focuses on the flavor, "Not bad. More than a tingle at least. These peppers have a nicely sweet edge to them, I'd sort of love it with a sauce and rice too. Hmm." She picks up more and takes another bite.
Ignis "I hear it in our voice. You've travelled far yes." Ignis looks on with growing interest and then is clearly impressed as she, for lack of better word, tanks the spice like a champ and seems barely effected.

I..uh...I don't know. This is a little disarming and somewhat lopsided isn't it? If you're used to the spiec of the south then perhaps you can practically eat hot coals and it'd be like cubes of ice to you...no?"

Still..he's got a daredevil streak. He glances to the eager vendor and nods his head, "I'll give it a shot.. Let's go. Uh...make it a smaller bowl though."

Tiziri "It's different." Tiziri responds. "Truth be told my mouth is terrible with heat if it's temperature. Did you see how logn I have to hold it and blow on it to cool it enough to eat? Let alone if I'm drinking tea or coffee? Those are a delicate balance, they have to be almost too cool to be delicious for me to drink." She explains. "So no, I'm not eating hot coals! Yet the delicate balance and tingle and pain of spice?" She just grins widely. "That's wonderful. It can be almost spiritual."
Ignis "Mmmph."

One bite has Ignis cheeks turning red and sweat beading on his features. HIs eyes water and one can almost imagine steam coming from his ears.

IT seems he was right. Spicey food and him don't mix.

But he manages to swallow and get all the way through it though he lets out a loud gasp for breath which is accompanied by the guffawing laugh of the vendor.

"I'll take yoru word for it!" he wheezes at Tiziri.

Tiziri Meanwhile, Tiziri is taking it slow with her own bites, blowing on the noodles to let them stop steaming before taking bits and just looking happy with each little bite as the spicy tast runs through her. "Everyone likes what they like." She ends up saying, before taking another wonderful, fiery morsel for herself. "So, what brings you here today?"
Ignis Clearing his throat again, Ignis attempts to regain his composure and then finally grunts out, "Right right. I was just hopng to catch up with some friends of mine who are in the tournament. H've been awayy..and so just wanted to see how they'd been faring. This is a lengthy event and can wear on even the most hearty of them. Misa and Amethyst come to mind but I understand Raullaur wishes to fight as well...and I'd be lying if I said I had no interest in The Mountain as he's a favored presence. So gossip. Just hunting for gossip."
Tiziri Tiziri smiles weirdly at that. "If I had to place a bet, it would be on Misa or Fudou." The answers, while blowing on another morsel of noodles. Each bite she takes is obviously a pleasurable experience for her. "Raullaur would probably have a decent chance as well, but from what I've seen? I think it will be one of those two. They both just have the correct instincts for a thing like this. Raullaur is skilled, don't get me wrong, but his skills lie on the battlefield, not duels." She says. "Amethyst is putting on a good showing too, but she just doesn't have much chance against those three."
Ignis "You believe Fudou the Mountain to be that powerful of an exigent?" asks Ignis curiously, "Amethyst is...full of surrpises. I've had opportuity to train with her and help her. She might surprise you. I understand she defeated an Exigent who wielded music as a weapon and I also saw a mortal, we believe, defeat an Immaculate monk. However.."

There is a pause and Ignis nods his head, "I also ahve it on some authority that Misa is not to be trifled with and can quite easily upset any attempts at gauging this properly..."

Tiziri Tiziri has a weirdly impish look to her face, and an uplilting giggle to her tone. "Let's just say, I'm very aware of the potential of both Fudou and Misa, and yes. I am quite certain they are that powerful." A pause and she continues without missing a beat or her grin fading a bit. "I've yet to miss a match. They're the ones to watch." How has she seen all the matches? Seems a feat!
Ignis "Are you.."

THis draws a slight smirk from Ignis. A knowing look and glint to his eyes.

"What if I were to tell you that I'm -also-...very aware..of the potential of, at least say, Misa. What would you say to that?"

He eyes her with a lopsided smile to his face. "That perhaps both of our insights might be...along the same line of thinking.."

Tiziri Tiziri just giggles a bit more at that. Shrugging. "Mostly, I'm saying from what I know, that any conflict between Fudou and Misa interests me. A lot." She takes another bite and seems to truly enjoy it. "It's the sort of thing that will answer a lot of questions." For the moment she's not answering a thing either, aside from saying that.
Ignis SHe doesn't need to. Ignis knows what he knows and isn't foolish. At the same time...there's no need to jump to open conclusions here so he simply says.

"Questions on if a 'mortal swordswoman' can face a known exigent of such power you're not concerned that he might fall to Amethyst who has already proven her ability as a prince of the earth to defeat other exigents. Curious."

Ignis just shakes his head and looks awya, "Plausible deniability is a thing. Say no more then and keep your secrets. Probably safer that way."

Tiziri "Fudou? He's... had some impressive feats of his own in the arena, even before this tournament." Tiziri notes. "It's hard to argue with an Exigent of Strength in a tournament like this. He's... strong. It speaks for itself." She shrugs a little bit. "Misa I can only admit I've... well, you say you know. I might know some things too. After all, she does run a school. But what I've seen makes me think she's a good bet too. She's quite skilled after all."
Ignis Ignis is quiet, measuring his thoughts carefully and then his words. IF she knwos..she'll get the implication. If she doesn't. It'll fly over her head. So:

"I also have...some understanding of MIsa's abilities as well as that of Amethyst and...I can say that based on my understanding of things..I would suggest she is likely in position to defeat most Exigents that come her way and Princes of the Earth as well. I have seen ..enough to make that call.."

He quiets to let that hang overhead and then adds, "And as I said I have tested..Amethyst myself." which likewise implies much.

"As to the mountain? The gods are mighty.. so who can say how great his gift of the Exigence is. It may be enough to overcome what I'm thinking about ...but if so then it would indeed answer some questions.."

Tiziri "I can only say what I've seen, and Amethyst pushed herself a lot, I'm not sure it was enough." She finishes off her noodles them. After all, she's been eating faster the longer this goes, given things are cooling off! Tiziri then says, "As for the Mountain? He brings physical gifts that are in excess of any regular mortal even before his patron's gifts. That's the strength there. His patron may be surprisingly powerful too, I do know that." She still has that impishly knowing grin on her face too.
