Fudou the Mountain Come. COme quickly. Come alone.

The message was delivered and now Fudou waits at an abandoned fishermans hut just on the edge of the Yellow River, Great Forks visible but far in the distance. He's claimed the place as his own for now. It suits him for when he wishes to wash himself of the decadence of the city and attempt to recenter himself from his enjoyment of the vices of drugs, drink and carnal pleasures such as he can get ito. Of late, it's proven a viable respite considering his visual prominence has increased so much due to the Congregation of Victory.

Right now, he smply waits. His feet are propped up on a tree stump and a large roughly hewn chair with well used cushions and pillows supports his vast body.

Tepet Makara Makara simply walks by the river alone but with a map depicting the lands of Creation. "Hmmm to take the Caelin port or that of Lookshy." He comments but puts it back into his pockets while he is currently hooded to shroud his identity. Makara wonders why his fellow Lunar asked him to come alone but he does so nonetheless, as it might be very important.

He then finally arrives at the village and heads for the hut where Fudou is in. Once inside, he takes off his hood. "Why did you call me here? Is it something dire?"

Fudou the Mountain "Hello to you too." responds Fudou brusquely, "A greeting would have been nice."

He sits up and gives a lpsided smirk, "What, I wanted to see your handsome face? Of course it's important. I wouldn't have reached out otherwise. YOu weren't followed were you?"

It's not a lack of trust per se but there's no harm in double checking. "I have some important news yes. First, though.. have you had any strange encounters of late? Anything that might seem unusual to you?"

Tepet Makara Makara tries to recall if there is anything strange he encountered. "Nothing much but I did meet a mortal whose martial art uses...daiklaves, the weapon of the chosen. He has been in Great Forks in some time and he goes by the moniker Perfect Question. But he seems to be alright to me, since he's an astrologer that will give a divination to me if I meet again. I wonder how he knew my brother is currently in the Caul....for some reason. Can't believe my brother lied he's in the Blessed Isle"

Makara sighs as he wonders what sort of affairs his brother delves into. "Sorry If I didn't greet you at first since was in a rush, but I assume the news is important whether related to the "mortal" I meet or not?"

Fudou the Mountain "A -mortal- that wields a -daiklaive-."

Fudou stares at Makara blankly, "That would be impossible unless they were of vast strength or supernatural skill. We must attune to them to even bear the weight and a mortal cannot do that. That is highly suspect. You didn't tell him anything, did you?"

Fudou pauses and then seems to relax before noting, "THere was tha mortal that defeated the Immaculate Monk in the arena but the MOnk was making blind mistakes and the mortal was obviously more then they seemed. Coincidence?"

fudou considers this and then says, "We have reason to believe that the Wyld Hunt could become imminent and that noe or more of us may be targetted. I heard from Amethyst and she and others were investigating The Consortium - the company behind the tournament. They are information brokers and one of their clients is The Realm. They found some informatio that suggests they are closely investigating some of those here in the city or in the competition. There was also an incident with a device that was spying on some private conversations. We don't know for -sure- yet but it's entirely possible someone may try and sell information to THe Realm..."

Tepet Makara "Are you implying that the monk back in the arena....was more than just mere mortal? I know them, they claimed to be a fellow former legionnaire that fought in the Tepet campaign back in the North. Yet at the same time, I cannot recognize them at all despite their claims....and she strangely knew of me as if she meet me before."

"I didn't tell them anything besides I'm a dragonblood" Makara's expression is uneasy and disturbed by the implications that the two mortals he meet....are never mortal to begin with at all. "Perhaps they are stealthy water or air aspect shikaris or some sort of exalt similar to Solar Night or Changing Moon castes we've never seen before?"

Then he shifts topics to the fact the arena might possibly be a trap to root out anathema exalts that may join "So the fight is arranged by this Consortium and....they are aligned with the Realm? Oh by the dragons of the earth and the silver lady above, They did at least find some dynasts that may he apart of this Consortium"
Fudou the Mountain "I don't mean to imply anything for certain, I'm just pointing out that it's very strange and not likely that a mortal would be able to casually wield a daiklaive. The magical materials are heavy for them and the weapons are already large and unwieldy and that's not even dealing with the fact that each daiklaive is a unique gift. An artifact. A weapon of legend and forging unto itself not some..common greatsword from some smithy. HOw'd he come by it? A mortal? Use your head Makara!"

His last words are sharp indeed but the massive lunar looks at Makara with worry now. "At the very least you should find out more and confirm for yourself. There are some holes in that story. As to the rest .. you know of this investigation? That there are dynasts tied to the Consortium? All Amethyst said was that some agency back in The Realm was a major recipient of the information they sold and that they most certainly wre trafficking in gathering information on supernatural beings in the Scavanger Lands. There's a journal that Bright Journey has and is deciphering. It may be that nothing's been said yet to expose us but there was a conversation being had among our peers discussing very personal information including going to see Raksi. Someone does know -something-..."

Tepet Makara "I'll try to inquire him about this and maybe even try to find his reasons in using a daiklaive using martial arts. If I find out his excuses are flimsy at best, I think it's best to suspect him of being some sort of chosen." He gulps as Fudou scolds him for not aligning the obvious connections they are not what they seem.

"My position in being a winglord to House Cynis may help but there are some risks. Since well blood sports such as these usually involve them and the house is very well associated with entertainment and vice, maybe they know something? There is a problem however that my investigation will draw the attention of my satrap...even if she's a lazy and decadent one at best. I don't know how to approach her with that topic without blowing my cover. I had an idea that I pose as a Wyld Hunt devoted Immaculate but that may do more damage than good"

Fudou the Mountain "Don't ask him any questions, you might tip him off. Just be more observant. You should be able to see signs yes?"

The giant man shakes his head. It's obvious that Fudou sees Makara as...not exactly competent. It may not be a fair assessment but he certainly does seem irrate now and he rubs his head. "Ugh. I should go back to just being a bandit on the roads for fun.."

He finally shakes his head and rumbles, "I think your position will be helpful but we should wait a little longer. Let's see what additional information they can glean from the journal and from the found artifact. You don't want to tip your hand. Bluntly, you're a terrible liar Makara. What if they see through you? Best to wait. However if it came to it...would you betray them and face them? Let's say the absolute worst happens and they attempt to draw someone out and ambush or send an armed force. What then?"

Tepet Makara "I admit I'm a terrible liar when it comes to certain situations but I have to confess something.....it's because of my envy at the dragonblooded. I do not hate them especially since I have a brother but they can freely wander Creation without fears of the Wyld Hunt, create kingdoms that aren't targeted by Shogunate successors and perform sorceries without people complaining about it....grrr, I sometimes wish I can wield my might freely, but I understand why I must not do so" For the first time, Makara's jealous tone breaks his princely facade as he growls like a reptilian predator whose fangs are dripping with poison at the sight of prey.

"I'll wait until the journal is fully deciphered. If there are names that are Cynis related, tell me so I'll try to find more information in Greyfalls. Since they are associated with the Realm, my best bet is that they have some members there."

Fudou the Mountain "That's one of the few times you've souonded like a full moon to me." concedes Fudou, seemingly satisfied at the show of passion. "It doesn't -have- to be that way but unless we all work together and are willing to stand and make a place for ourselves it won't come to pass. Sacrifices are going to have to happen. We've talked about this before. So I won't retread it now. We must first deal with this situation."

Fudou nods his head, "I will see what else I find out. I don't plan to withdraw from the tournament either...but as we learn more we should share that information with each other."

Tepet Makara "Oh you saw a hint of my uhm..."other side", I was like that more when I was casteless and wandered the coldNorth...ironic since my spirit shape is a komodo dragon until my instructor found me and told me to get a grip. I was like a ravenous hungry ghost during that time of my life" There is an embarrassed look on his face as there were cracks in his princely demeanor. "Sure let's met up again once you find out more about the journal and Consortium....and if this Perfect Question is a mortal or not. I'll be wary of him when he delivers the divination."
Fudou the Mountain "Indeed. Be very wary and cautious." remarks Fudou. He rises and gives Makara another long look, "I will see you soon I'm sure. Perhaps back in the arena."

And with that, he begins to make his way out of the area.
