Amethyst Sometime before festivities in the Arena start back up in earnest, tucked away in the corner of one of Great Forks' many libraries, the young alchemist sits with various language books as she tries to cross reference some script she's written down on a bit of paper, taking notes as she goes along. Slowly she works her way through various books, checking and rechecking as she tries to make sense of whatever it is she's working on.
Tepet Makara Meanwhile, Makara is in the section of the library usually about the West specifically about findings on the Caul itself. Other than that, he has a map of Creation with him mostly as a reference for his own search
Scarlet Onyx Sunada Scarlet has been wandering through the city letting fate guide her hand. She has found herself in one of the libraries of the city. She is wearing her battle robes but has left her staff behind. She looks around the library and spots a familiar person deep in a stack of books. She casually walks over to see if she can get any more information from the interesting "Dragon Blooded".
Amethyst Amethyst, deep in thought, doesn't notice Wandering Thunder at first. But eventually her frustration exceeded her ability to focus and she looks up. Not a face she was expecting to see, especially not after that... meeting she had with those four.

She puts her book down on top of the paper with the symbols on it and gives a little smile. "Hey there. Can I help you with something?" She wears a well practiced but meaninglessly pleasant expression.

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Scarlet smiles pleasantly for Amethyst. "I decided to take a walk and let fate guide my steps. I am glad to see you again. I had hoped we could see each other on the arena floor but it would appear that opportunity has been taken from us." She looks genuinely dissapointed at this. She glances down at the pile of books and papers. "What brings a master craftwoman to the library today?"
Amethyst "Alas. We could still spar sometime if you'd like after the contest is over." Amethyst says, also a little disappointed. Maybe it would've been a better time than trying to face Fudou. At least she had the sense to surrender rather than endure whatever he could've done to her.

"Did you see my match with The Mountain? He's one hell of an exigent." She doesn't mention what she's researching.

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Scarlet nods her head. "Indeed I did, I wouldn't have missed it. I was very hopeful that you would win. I do so enjoy when someone I know wins." She glances around at the books. "Do you happen to know The Mountain? I was curious which god granted him his second breath."
Amethyst She shakes her head, "I had to go get looked at after that last hit, and he ran off to go do... I don't even know what. Shouldn't be hard to find someone of /that size/ if you want to though." Amethyst explains. "The little I know about him is that it was some variety of mountain god, though I'm really not sure. He's somethin' else though I'll tell you. It was not hubris that undid me, he was just too strong and tough for my weapons to make a dent."

She sighs, holding the silver bangle that's become part of her attire. In its center is a simple black jade ring. It almost looks like some variety of primitive artifact.

"How about you? How've your fights been going?"

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Wandering Thunder nods "Thanks, I'm trying to do some homework on the other contestants to see if I can find any advantages." She tilts her head to the side a little "I have been successful so far. Mars has smiled upon me in my fights." She notices the bracelet. "An interesting charm you have, a family heirloom?"
Amethyst "Gift from a friend." Amethyst says, "I... don't really have much in the way of family." She looks down, then she shakes her head and continues, "Helps me regulate my essence. The power of the dragons can be quite intense sometimes and this helps me not... well, you got to see first hand what happens if we let our essence consume us." She chuckles.

"Mars?" Amethyst asks, tilting her head. "I might've heard that name once, but I've not studied much outside of the Immaculate Doctrine. As strange as it is for someone who believes in the principles of the Five Dragons out here in the midst of Decadance."

Her words are carefully chosen, perhaps even encouraging. Words of inquery rather than accusation, even if she finds it weird that this Immaculate Monk is calling upon a god she's only heard in passing previously.

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Wandering Thunder smiles broadly. "I hope you do not take offense to me offering thanks to the Maiden of Battle. She is said to be only second to the Unconquered Sun in battle. I was a soldier and faught against the Bull of the North with House Tepet forces. I was on the same battlefield as Tepet Makara. I think we were in different parts of the battle as we never saw each other in the fight." She gestures to a nearby chair, "May I"?
Amethyst "I sometimes pray to others beyond the dragons myself." Amethyst says, gesturing for her to take a seat. "But I thought it was strictly illegal for mortals to venerate any gods outside of their days on the prayer calender. Let alone those who take the oaths to become monks." Amethyst says with some concern. "Something about Dragons having the privillege to worship who they choose while mortals are more fallable or something to that effect."

"Not that I have any issues with mortals or what they choose to do. I'd be fool if I stuck to the whole 'mortals should know their place' bit in the Immaculate Doctrine when I was doing what I could to become a sorcerer." She looks very carefully at Wandering Thunder's reaction to her statements, knowing that most in the Realm are frightened by sorcerers.

"Nowadays, I more practice the Lookshyean Philosophy, which is much more about who you are and what you do than where you were born and your lot in life."

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Wandering Thunder sits down and nods her head along with Amethyst. "I was sent out here partly for my heretical opinions on something like the strict worship of the dragons over all others. Like I said, I was a soldier in a former life, venerating the god that is most likely to keep you alive seems like a good idea to me. Anyways, she's one of the Incarna, like Luna and the Unconquered Sun."
"The Lookshyans have a lot going for them. I cannot speak for how they follow the Immaculate texts. As for you being a socrcerer, we are not in the Realm and I am one priest in a land full of heretics according to the Blessed Isle. I think I will withhold judgement on all until them break the Three's rules."
"Could we talk about those amazing looking blades you had in the fight with the man mountain? How did you make them appear and dissappear?
Amethyst "I played by the Three's rules as well. Great Forks has treated me better than most other places have and most places would. I'm sure my meddling with the powers of the wyld would be heresy and a massive scandal at best in the Realm." Amethyst says, producing a tool made of violet crystal. "But the immaculate principles have kept my soul together and I use my gifts to better the world around me as best I can. It's the least I can do. And most who endure the Wyld are not so lucky."
Scarlet Onyx Sunada Wandering Thunder nods her head. "That explains a great many question I had about your unique appearance. Being touched by the wyld would explain it. I now understand why you haven't tried to go into the Realm and claim your birthright."
"That is a most interesting tool you have, what kind of stone is it made from?"
Amethyst "You should've seen me when I was fresh from the wyld." Amethyst chuckles, "Actually you kind did back in the Arena." She rubs her head, "Not my smartest play. And I did a lot to make myself... less strange and more presentable when I need to be. But I kept the ears." She wiggles them, "I couldn't just pretend what happened to me didn't happen at all." It also helps that she was born with them.

"As for this? I'm not sure. It vanishes when I stop focusing on it, but I imagine it's pretty tough. Wyld-Stone I guess I'd call it?" She shrugs. And then she looks at Thunder's robes. And something catches her eyes.

"...Since when do mortal monks wear Starmetal robes?" She asks, "If they're anything like all the other artifacts I know of, you'd be crushed under their weight if you didn't have the power to control essence like an Exalted or a spirit. And the Realm sure as shit didn't issue these to you."

She leans over the table, and asks, "You know my deal now, what's yours? Not buying the wandering monk cover story."

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Wandering Thunder nods her head at the explaination. "Simply amazing the control you have over yourself."
Wandering Thunder picks up some of the robes that move very easily in her hands. "These are mine from a past life. I left them for myself in the care of a friend who returned them to me after my rebirth." She shakes her head ever so slightly and smiles again. "My own carelessness gets me caught out. Everything I have told you is true. I was born to a family in service to house Tepet, we marched and did battle with the Bull of the North, and we lost. I also exalted on the battle field that day."
"No one remembers me from the time before I exalted. The world wiped me from the collective memory of creation."
Amethyst "It helps that I had the Dream-Souled to teach me and guide me. That's another story though." Amethyst says. and then she listens. Then she nods. "So considering that your story doesn't end in getting hunted down by your former family I'd assume you didn't become a Solar or a Lunar. What /are/ you then? Some variety of Exigent that reincarnates? Or... well there's one sort of Exalted I've only heard of in passing, a um, one of Fate's chosen?" She realizes she doesn't even know the proper name.

"Why did the world forget you?" It's a tone that's a mixture of curiousity and concern.

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Wandering Thunder smirks. "Yes, I am one of fate's chosen. In order for fate to clear us for it's work, it wipes us out from everyone's memory. I have no desire to cause any trouble with you or any of your friends. I work for the the maiden of battle. So I do enjoy a good fight."
