Fudou the Mountain The evening hours stretch on and most of the matches of the day have concluded. By and large the more spectacular of the fights of The Congregation of Victory are being spaced out to draw the largest crowd but occasional sightings of the top contenders and, for lack of better word, 'celebrity fighters' persist and The Mountain from Volivat seems to be among them.

Currently in one of the training yards of the arena but within eye sight of the battlefield, Fudou looms like the mountain ranges he draws his nickname from. A great monstrous barbell like weight with size akin to Guild wagon wheels crushes the ground infront of him with all the implied density of a group of mammoths compressed into their forms. The giant strongman studies it for a few seconds, considering it almost thoughtfully before reaching down to slowly curl his fingers around the bar itself.

Onlookers keep their distance, torn between watching the behemoth and watching the last of the matches.

Wandering Tree Wandering Tree wanders into the arena stands with a casual pace, not seeming dead set on any particular destination. He makes his way down to the lower levels and looks out over the grounds, his eyes quickly picking out the massive form of Fudou. He turns in that direction, making his way around the circle of the wall separating spectators from the spectated until he nears the training area. He sits down on the wall, raising a hand in greeting towards the other giant but letting him finish his activity uninterrupted.
Fudou the Mountain "Mm...H'lo there!"

Fudou's deep bass rumbles out in a cheerful greeting without the giaant even turning around to see who it is. He seems rather sure of it, perhaps hinting at some sort of senses that keep him aware of who or what is approaching..and Wandering Tree is hardly a man for whom subtle movement is the norm.

"I was wondering if I would see you again." he continues. After a pause there is a groaning sound of metal warping and twisting as the giant leans back and hauls the great weight up from the ground. His physique practically creaks audibly as his sinew ripples and inflates and his muscles bulk up like boulders inflating under his rugged flesh.

Despite this effort he speaks easily, grinning now. "I trust all is well and you are settling into Great Forks?"

Wandering Tree Wandering Tree chuckles softly as he nods. "All is indeed well, although I'm not sure settling is the right word. I really only came here on what you could call a vacation, or holiday. A break before going back to the coast. Then again, it has not been the visit I expected."
Fudou the Mountain "Hmm...the coast.. Back further west or The Dreaming Sea? I assume you mean th'west..." asks the giant brute before dropping the weight back down with a heavy *THOOOM* that shakes the entire yard. He turns now, facing Wandering Tree directly and lifting an eyebrow upward as he speaks.

"Though why leave? Surely there's at lesat -one- thing giving you reason to stay?" Fudou's grin is bemused but curious as he peers at the large man, "Or...is there some business pulling you away?"

Wandering Tree Wandering Tree's mouth quirks into a grin, then a wider smile as his thoughts run that course. "I meant further west, closer to the Blessed Isle. There are some people there that I make it my business to annoy. But also yes, there is at least one thing making be reconsider leaving. As it seems you well know, don't you?"
Fudou the Mountain "I thought it obvious the last time we met." notes Fudou, grinning a little bit with further amusement. He steps away towards a wall to retrieve a large towel upon realizing that he actually had worked up a light sweat.

"After all..I saw what I saw.." he notes. He pauses, glancing around abit, and it seems as if the two are being given private space enough and so he turns and approaches Tree now, heavy foot falls padding into the ground with heavy rumbles as his ten or eleven foot frame draws nearer to the other immense man.

"You mean she didn't tell you?"

Wandering Tree Wandering Tree keeps smiling at first, but his expression turns into a frown at that last. "What do you mean? Tell me what?"
Fudou the Mountain The giant laughs at at Tree's reaction. It's a merry sounding laugh as if guessing at what's possibly running through the other giants man but he simply shakes his head and then crouches low to the sand betneath his massive feet. He holds up a finger and then reaches down and draws a circle into the sand.

The meaning should be plain to any Lunar worth their salt. The sigil of the full moon.

"I've been watching them for some time.." he muses. "At first I wasn't that interested in staying here myself. I was much more prone to what passed for banditry and thuggery but upon meeting her and others I got curious about if the old stories were actually true or not. My shahan-ya has some particular feelings you see and I wanted t'make my own mind up. Then I suppose I just got....caught up on this place."

He brushes away the sand, "I thought you'd figured it out. I guess my little 'trick' at staying incognito works well..."

Wandering Tree Wandering Tree cracks his knuckles, loudly. "Ah. I think I may have misunderstood which 'she' you meant. But even so, I'm still not sure what you're getting at. Even so... Well, I am in no hurry to leave as yet. I chose my new name for a reason, after all. I do like to wander, and see new places and people. But I also just can't help but spread roots wherever I go."
Fudou the Mountain "Hmm? Do I have to spell it out? We're the same."

Fudou looks on, confused. "By 'she' I mean Bright Journey. Have you not spent time with her? I suppose I assumed she'd have shared much with you about going ons here but maybe I'm wrong. I thought she'd have mentioned me to you and that we are both touched by The Lady. That is what I'm getting at." He frowns mildly and then stands up, straightening to his full height again as hel ooks on Tree.

"Mm..forgive me. I'm not as ...coy...as I like to think I am. I should have spoken more plainly. We're alone and its safe to talk after all. Not that we're in some dynast controlled pit but..still.."

Wandering Tree Wandering Tree's neck muscles twitch at Fudou's last line, and it takes some will to settle down. "No, if we were in such a pit, I think we'd be having a grand time making them regret it by now. But yes, I have spend time with Bright Journey. Perhaps not enough to get a clear picture... At the same time though, I can't say I'm surprised that we're so similar. Hmmmm... I supposed it does no harm to say that I have offered to help her while I'm here, which I believe puts us on the same side in matters that threaten the city, and those like us. So if it gets hairy, I believe we will be on the same side."
Fudou the Mountain "Grreeaaat!"

Fudou's big rolling voice amps up with great cheer at all of this. He seems to visibly relax, as if this whole time he'd been more guarded despite his pushing and prodding and his smile grows big and expressive.

"Well then. I can speak more freely with you now. I just wasn't sure on where you stood but it seems that we've much in common. I will help you and introduce you to others though I'm sure you'll encounter them on your own."

He then nods his head, "There's much going on..and alot to take in. It can hard to get a true clear picture but I will say this. Not even amongst our elders have I ever seen so many gatherings of.." he pauses and then says with a sardonic smirk, 'Anathema' or note... Others like us. Others like her. Enough that this city is in no danger save from fools ....but plenty of fools there are.."

Wandering Tree Wandering Tree's grin widens again, and his teeth show at the mention of Anathema. "Fools can abound, it is true. How much danger there really is remains to be seen, but at the very least I will not be leaving until the threat of the hunt has passed. And if you are a friend of of Bright Journey's, then we can be friends as well."
