Fudou the Mountain The season long Congregation of Victory has not lessened its grip on Great Forks one bit. Along with the raucous festivals of a thousand gods and ten thousand revelers, dens of drug and iniquity, houses of gambling and drinking, are the parties, tourists and otherwise sight seeing addled visitors to the city who are amassed to see the sights of organized a group known as The Nine Sheaves Constorium.

And then there are the fights. The many, many fights. Rumor has travelled far and wide at this point of the particpants and the stellar battles. Mortals (supposedly) defeating Immaculate Monks. A fae touched alchemist facing off against an exigent who wielded music as a weapon and another one gifted with a great vigor of exigence...a scion of a south eastern god of size and strength who has devestated others in the arena, including the alchemist. A swordswoman of peerless skill and lightning speed and many others.

The fights have only escalated in intensity as entrants have been weeded out and the strong have emerged from the weak but no shortage of battles are occuring and in fact, several go on now in designated areas within the massive arena and the afternoon crowds, though lighter by far then the evening ones, enjoy the spectacle.

One such observant is...easily seen as he watches from a large and mostly empty training yard on the outskirts of the main arena but with view of the battlefield. Fudou cuts a signifigant and imposing figure after all and if asked after, the rumor of the Exigent of Strength seems to be referring to him. Here in the arena, he's dressed far more brutishly then the silk open robes and scented oils and treatments of The Chateau. If anything - he seems bigger, much bigger. His vast physique quakes and rolls with sinewy fiberous movements, legs bared save for light armor, patterned briefs and clothes about his waist along with decorative belts and thick ropes, bracers on his arms but his body largely exposed like some storybook behemoth come to life. He's a spectacle to simply watch standing there and breathing near great massive iron weights but his attention is on the combat in the arena itself, watching as two swordmasters clash to the cheers of the crowd.

Shining Azurite First, meanwhile is here in her megere finery, and clearly not here for a fight. She carries her insturment on her back, and was heading to the stands, but upon seeing a familiar face, she smiles and moves easily, navigating her way down to that training yard, a soft smile on her face. She waits quietly, watching for a break in the fighting, but only half paying attention to it. When she finds her moment, she speaks. "Greetings again to you." she says. "We met at the Chateau, if you do not recall a humble musician. But I surely recall you." she adds simply. "Are you to compete today, or only to watch."
Fudou the Mountain "Hmm?" rumbles the titan. The voice is familiar to him but it's only when he turns and lays eyes upon her that some recognition seems to dawn in the depths of his spectacle wearing eyes.

"Oooh. Weeellll! I remember you, yes!" he rumbles, bass voice rolling out with an affable friendly tone despite the sheer magnitude of him. Not exactly jolly but gregarious. %rHis sandled feet lift up, dragging crushed earth with him from the sheer weight and massiveness of the behemoth and the very earth seems to shake as he draws closer. Within the Chateau, it seems he was restraining himself. Not so here. "You seemed overwhelmed by the Chateau, luv, but you come here? Brave of you! Great Forks not proving too much for you is it? Or are you actually a fan of the tournament?"

To her question, he gives her a big broad grin, "Not today no. I think they are trying to hold me back to see who emerges that wants a crack at me. I grow bored though and may make my own entetainment soon!"

Shining Azurite She takes a small breath. "Well, the cheateu was not what I expected. This is what I expect when I hear the words arena? Still, yes it is a little bit...much." at the question she frowns slightly. "In truth, not as much. I can watch fights but they do not speak to me. They do however, often speak to my clients. And if someone can't make it to the fighting themselves, well...a song is almost as good, right? So I'm seeing if I can do that here. Get a few fighting ballads in about local fighters. You'll be featured I'm sure, so try not to die." she says, grinning at that. "Though I doubt that will be a problem for you."
Fudou the Mountain The colossal man belts out a rough laugh at that and then reaches up and smacks his chest. The meaty impact sends the vast pectoral masses rolling like a tidal wave which he continues, flexing them thickly and obsceney before relaxing them ina deliberate hammy display, "I'm a sturdy one! However the tournament isn't designed towards lethality. Oh there is danger if one doesn't know what they're doing but death is not on the table and if it was I've no intention of dying."

Fudou grins, "Too much of Decadence left to experience for that!"

He beckons for her to enter the yard more fully and then turns to step back towards the weights. "What exactly did you expect from the Chateau though?"

Shining Azurite The gives a small nod as she listens and grins. "Well that's good to hear. Makes it a little easier to watch too, if I'm honest. I don't actually like it when people die." she says. "And I admit I'd be sad if I watched you rip a man in half, I think. Though, I have no doubt that's something you can do if you want."

At the second question, she thinks. "In truth...I expected...less. A lot less. I figured even in Great Forks a tavern was a place you could show up and earn your keep pretty easily. I'd say I didn't expect a place like that to be organized like an army but...I've found it easier to get work with small armies."

Fudou the Mountain "I'm given to understand that most people don't like it when people die except for the ones wanting to kill. I certainly don't plan to rip anyone in half... Nobody would ever want to fight me if I did that!" exclaim Fudou in a bit of a cheeky protest with a look of mischief in his eyes as he looks back to her, "That would be bad for business! "

He reaches down, curling a massive hand around a thick bar with enormous Guild Wagon sized weights of iron on either side.

"Worry not on that account and leave the fighting to those suited for it. I will say that Great Forks is, if nothing, not short on bars, tea houses, resturants, gambling halls and dives. It depends on what you're looking for. The Chateau is quite high classed in its clientale. It's run by a dynast after all. But if you want something much smaller then you have the docks to consider. I suppose, in the end, it depends on you, luv. You can find anything you want in this city -- but that also includes danger if you go in blindly.."

Shining Azurite She grins. "That makes sense. Well I'm happy. That always seems...troubling, watching things like that happen." she says, still she nods at the second part. "I may try the Chateau again. I've just learned there are rules. However yes, things like bars seem like a perfect place for me to try my trade. And don't worry none about me. Ever since that army I mentioned I've learned to avoid danger...well..." she smiles up at him. "Present company exepted."
Fudou the Mountain The ground shakes violently as the behemoth hauls up the great iron weight and curls it up with a single arm. The movements and the shaking of the earth draws some outside spectators but they keep their distance.

"Me?" he asks, looking amused, "Are you suggesting I'm dangerous, luc? Nonsense!" he roars with a big grin once again, "I am but the embodiment of safety and assurance. You can count on me or I don't have Ten Fathers!"

Fudou inclines his head, light gleaming off of his rounded spectacles as he looks her over and then asks curiously, "What rules do you speak of?"

Shining Azurite She blinks. "Wait hold up. Hold up. You have ten fathers? You can't just say I have ten fathers and then just expect me to believe you, you have to at least tell me the story! We can talk about how I'm not used to having to get an audition, or ask someone for permission to play, or visit a place with different rooms later. But for now you gotta tell me about the ten fathers."
Fudou the Mountain The behemoth merely grins enigmatically at her response. He brings the huge weights up to his chest and presses his colossal hands up to both sides of them an begins squeezing. His physique bulks and bunches up in a fiberous sinewy display that strains his garments, veins as thick as shipping ropes standing on his arms as he grins nonchalantly at her while beginning to crush and fold the metal inward and upon itself, balling it up with what is assuredly a terrifying looking display of brute strength.

"Very well.." Fudou rumbles as the feat of strength continues and then slows.

"I can't tell you -everything- though luv. There's more fun to finding out after all. Have you ever heard of Volivat before?"

Shining Azurite She claps excitedly, for her part, very impressed by this crushing display. She watches quietly otherwise, and listens quietly as she does so, before the says. "I think so. Wasn't it a sign of the Anathama's Hubris? Proof of their many failures?" she asks, with a mild cant of her head. "Are you telling me you're ancient, or from underwater?" She's ended up pulling out her Sanxian, worrying at it and doing minor checks more than anything, finding something to keep her hands busy.
Fudou the Mountain "What? No!" declares Fudou, recoiling slightly at her words in some confusion.

He' s forced to pause, however, considering things from another perspective and slowing himself lest he say more then he intends to say. He then nods his head slowly.

"Well I suppose from a certain perspective what you say is true. The ancient city does date back to those days. But Volivat is a culture unto itself. It's not sunken or lost. I know this because I'm from there, in the southeast. The Dreaming Sea..."

He places both hands on the sides of the tangled ball of metal and inclines his head as he looks at her, trying to read her reactions, "We are known as The Yennin. Scions of 'Ten Fathers'.." he grins slowly, "There are 'methods' where the seed of the strongest and wisest contribute to the birth of a single child. Eleven parents to one superman. The mighiest of which can contend even with the princes of Prasad and sorcerers of Ysyr with their strengtha dn power. You could say I 'lucked out' as a most gifted Yennin, bearing the fruit of potent seed and with potent seed to give."

He shrugs lightly. The very subject matter of that process apparently no source of embarrassment for him. "I will not say more. I can't very well divulge the secrets of my nation now can I?"

If he even knows them. That look of mischief is in his eyes again so how much here is tale weaving or truth may be uncertain but then again - he -is- standing there, an eleven foot plus, six foot wide, sinewy monster of a man with superhuman strength. "Before you ask not all are giants though. Far from it. Talents are varied and mine are unique and not limited there."

Shining Azurite She blinks once. Then twice. Then a third time. Still, there is after a long moment a giggle from her. "Pardon, Pardon. It's not even that I don't believe you. It's just all I could think of as you explained the second half was...those poor women." Still, after she catches her breath. "Still, from you, I believe that story. And if I hadn't met you I wouldn't. But..." she says. "Tell me what it's like then. If it's not just a flooded city? How's the food, how's the drink?"
Fudou the Mountain Her reaction actually draws confusion from the giant at first. Now it's -his- turn to be thrown off...and then he just bursts into a rolling laugh.

"It's not like -that-!" he exclaims, "The process is more complicated then that and not what you're thinking! And I -know- what you're thinking!" Fudou's deep voice rolls with good humor and amusement though he then grins and adds, "Unless you're referring spefifically to -me- in which case..well..." he shrugs a little bit and then grins, mischief again dancing on his face, "My own methods of amusement and entertaining is a tale unto itself..." His eyes narrow and his eyebrows furrow at that as his smile becomes more full toothed, "But I won't force those particular details on you unasked for."

He waves that portion off and then grins, "Anyway, as I said, Ten Fathers. I'm Yennin."

Shining Azurite She nods. "I had hoped to be honest. I think I can handle some magic more than I can handle the images I was getting." she grins a little bit more. "Still though. I'm glad, however you got here, that you did in fact get here." she says. "And it sounds like a fascinating place. And with considerably more to recommend it than the parts of the realm I'm from. And thank you, honestly, for being willing to share what you were willing to share with me." her smile gets more earnest.
Fudou the Mountain "Hah, I'm pretty sure the Realm would not approve but in The Southeast and The Dreaming Sea things are, you might say, strange, and the philosphies and beliefs you are used to...likely very different. But I will say that if you are looking to experience things beyond The Realm and gain more tales and knowledge then what is provided on The isle then Great Forks is a place to start. Better here then say Nexus." remarks Fudou with an inclining of his head, "Anyway, my name, in case it was not said before or was forgotten is Fudou. Some call me The Mountain or Fudou The Mountain. You can always feel free to call on me."
Shining Azurite "Oh I don't...I don't follow any Immaculate Philosophy or have any love for the realm. It is where I am from however." she says with a nod. "Why, I think even becoming a musician was a sin. Either I've risen above being a farmer or I've slipped below it. And either of those things are terrible. Unthinkable." she grins. "And yes, I am looking forward to experince...as much as is worth experincing of this place." she says. "You are certainly worth experincing. I would be happy to call on you. And if you ever need a party made better, or maybe something to strike a little bit more fear in people. Please feel free to think of little old First...first."
Fudou the Mountain "Greeaaaat!" rumbles Fudou with a huge rolling boom to his foice as he balances that ball of scrap metal in one hand and lifts his other arm up joyfully, "You can start thinking about it now with a ballad about my strength and my impending victory! But take your time, no rush. Something epic deserves time to cook after all."

Fudou then bows, moving with surprising dexterity considering he looks like he was hewn from a mountain side by Isidoros once upon a time.

"Don't be getting too curious about what Great Forks has to offer.." he grins and then straightens up abit, looking at her once more with that cheshire of a grin, "It's not called 'decadence' for no reason after all.."

Shining Azurite She listens. "Of course. I'll get something cooking just for you though." she winks. "I'll need to see a few wins mostly, to get a handle on it. So I'll probably be here a little bit more." then she nods

"More seriously, yeah. I like bars as much as the next itenerant musician but I know enough not to get involved in some things. I don't know who works in the shadows here. And I don't want to...except by knowing what markings and people to avoid."

Fudou the Mountain "Then you should do well." Fudou nods with his smile becoming more bemused once more. "From what I can tell, you have a good head on your shoulders. As to seeing wins? Well, just for you..I will plan some."

He grins, giving her a wink, and then turns and starts thudding away, carrying the heavy bunched up weight with him as he does, heading deeper into the yard.
