Shining Azurite We find ourselves in Lucky Bycatch, a seedy tavern down by the docks, which for it's many flaws, does have the virtue of cheap drinks, and occasional rare finds. It's position and it's connections with the ships traveling back and forth mean the occasional rare bottle turns up. Right now, First Flowing Words is up, earning a small living, and free drinks, strumming a sad song about lovers, dying of thirst, out in the South, as the midday crowd, those who managed a day off, or finished thier morning work sip at bottles. It is a small crowd, and currently, it is quiet, and stuffed with eunni.
Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Oracle of the Frozen Mirror would walk in, adressing the barkeep and ordering a drink. Turning to survey the crowd as she looks up and at the person playing upon the stage. She dumps a coin without looking at it as she takes her drink and goes to sit down.
Pyrope Ranut Pyrope Ranut leans against the wall near the musician, drinking something sweet and formerly honey from a clay mug as he watches her play. He isn't bothering to wear a false destiny today, not having planned to meet anyone new he wanted to bother to remember him which may or may not have been a wise plan when he set out the door that morning. Who knows, certainly not him. He didn't expect to run into a SECOND colleague here in the city though. She's at least in the Convention on the East though.

A few moments after the last chords from First Flowing Words' song ends, a coin hits her bowl with a heavy clunk. "Beautiful voice, beautiful playing. Any chance you know the ballad of the Black Swan and Venus?" He takes a sip from his drink.

Shining Azurite First flowing words gives a polite nod at the coin, and continues to strum at her Sanxian. And then, she blinks as she looks firmly at the coin. "Ah. I see. If you're going to throw around coinage like that, traveller, you might want to talk to the bartender. But I do know that song." she says. "I doubt many of our audience do, so it may be a treat for them." she adds, adjusting her grips and tuning, before she adds "Maybe after this we should reminicse about how we heard of it." she adds. "But thank you to everyone!" she says, before slipping back into her soft, low singing voice, talking about a happier tale this time.
Pyrope Ranut Pyrope Ranut leans back against the wall again nursing his drink. One can pay a reasonable rate for drinks, but the value of art is so subjective! And besides, it isn't like he's hurting for funds. "We'll talk after, sure."
Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Oracle of the Frozen Mirror would approach the man with a smile, and say, "Greetings there friend, mind if I buy you a drink?" She would say, angling to see just how deep his pockets were as she calmly smiles and bats her pretty eyes~
Pyrope Ranut Pyrope Ranut raises one hand as if to pause her. "No need to buy me anything, but if you want some company to drink with who am I to say no to a beautiful woman? The musician and I are acquaintances, so was hoping to catch up with her after she plays her fill today but until then I can be entirely yours." He gives a rough bow and wink. His small coin pouch tied on his belt gives a small jingle as he does so.
Shining Azurite First flowing words watches quietly, her eyes flicking forward a little more firmly as she continues to strum, this song being a little long, especally when we get to the part where Venus (aprocraphally) takes on a hundered forms to avoid the Black Swan, in order to raise her ardor. In true musician fashion likewise, she adds her own. It is likely no one has included a verse about her as a porcupine, at least not for a long while.
Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Says "Thank you~," Smiling warmly and pleasantly as she takes a seat noting the jingle but saying nothing on it. "The names Oracle, what's yours?"
Pyrope Ranut Pyrope Ranut says, "Pyrope Ranut, which is of course itself a diminutive of a fancier title that doesn't really suit me. Ranut is the name my parents gave me and good enough for conversation. What brings a woman like you to a place like this? You stick out a bit in a clearly well dressed and didn't work up a sweat so far in the day kind of way.""
Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Takes a drink, and says "Oh I just like travelling. I'm used to staying in places like this, often can talk my way out of any strange situations~"

"I find myself looking for good quality people and company to spend both my time and money on."

Shining Azurite Eventually, finally the song comes to an end and she smiles. "And with that, I'll let you get back to your drinking. Thank you very much." she says. Before heading over and turning the smaller coin into a mug at the counter. Finally coming back over to the pair of them. "Pardon me for joining in. But you two are, by far the most interesting patrons here. So, I hope you don't mind if a humble musician hears a few more tales to spin into songs." It's a little rude, but she offers a wide grin.
Pyrope Ranut Pyrope Ranut Ranut, sensing what experts would call 'something interesting to do' curses his walking out the door without a Resplendent Destiny this morning. But hey, maybe he'll get lucky and this woman will remember long enough for him to be wearing one later. After all, they're more about bearing than the specific name they know him under it..."Well, if you you want quality company I can recommend my acquaintance here more than myself." He nods at FFW as she approaches the table. "But if you need quality help of a certain variety I could be your man." He downs the rest of the honey wine and gestures for another. "That being said, most of what I'm best at is hitting people and putting the fear of the gods into those that need it." His demeanor shifts from relaxed and affable to just a smidge threatening there before it slips back to vacation mode.
Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Oracle of the Frozen Mirror she smiles, clearly unthreatened yet definitely liking what she sees. "It looks like a fortuitous moment to mention that I'm looking for a performer and a bodyguard at the present point. Especially because I'm very... soft, and squishy~" In a flirtatious tone towards Ranut. Before turning to the Performer and saying, "I Would Love~ for you to join us dear, please do so."
Shining Azurite First Flowing Words perks up at that. "I see I see. Well, I admit, I am currently open right now, and do enjoy it when the people with money say things like "I sure do wish I had music and merriment with me all times. I would gladly pay for that." she grins a bit more widely. "So I think it's a pleasure to meet you, and I'm happy to join you." she takes a seat. "I'm First Flowing Words, by the way. And I respect both a patron of the arts and someone with such a...unique, taste in music." she says, taking a hard look over at Pyrope. "What did you say your name was, friend?"
Pyrope Ranut Pyrope Ranut doesn't quite perk up like his compatriot, he's frankly just not good enough at general 'perkitude' compared to some people, but he certainly looks interested and is far from saying no especially as the woman Oracle (and he has thoughts about that name too) flutters her eyes and presses into his personal space. "Ranut, though I've certainly been called plenty of other names as well. Perhaps here I only need to be known as unusually handsome muscle for our new friend here."
Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Oracle of the Frozen Mirror She smiles, "And I'm Oracle, it's a pleasure to make your acquaintences, both of you~"
Pyrope Ranut Pyrope Ranut says, ""So what is it you need bodyguarding from, exactly? This city isn't exactly lacking dangers, but I hope you didn't just hire a stranger expecting to throw down with the spirits, god-blooded, and all the Exalted of this city.""
Shining Azurite There's another nod at this from First "And a fine pleasure to meet both of you on a day like today. So, may I ask. What sort of profession puts someone at need for...yes, that. And a musician. I've seen people who need one or the other, but very few have need of both. And most of them seem to ride around in litters all day."
Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Would say, "Oh no not at all, I'm just a guild representative. Not a big name, don't worry, nor do I trade in slaves or anything unpleasant. I seek to expand my influence and that tends to earn one enemies quickly. Plus, I just like good company."
Pyrope Ranut Pyrope Ranut doesn't quite believe it is that innocuous, not with the Guild involved now, but also really could use something to focus his restless energies when not actively at work and a beautiful merchant in need of a bodyguard would be a very solid diversion. "I'm not staying in Great Forks forever, but while our paths are crossed I'm certainly happy enough to play the part." He toasts his new, secondary employer. "So whose problem are we going to become first?"
Shining Azurite "Well, it's good not to be at risk of being demoted to stock." she says, a look of relief on her face. "And then you have good taste! I'm very willing to improve your meetings with song as long as you're willing to have me." she adds "Though please note, I'm not much of a fighter. This isn't secretly reinforced." she says, giving her insturment a soft knock.
Oracle of the Frozen Mirror Oracle of the Frozen Mirror she laughs pleasantly, and says "Oh That would be just wonderful~ Nor do I plan to stay here forever, but I hope to advance my position while I am in the city as not, so to speak."

"I would love for the presence of both of you to be with me whilst I continue to stay here."

"I don't have need anything other than a musician and confidant from you, and bodyguard and pleasant companion from you~" She says gesturing to either in turn

Shining Azurite "Of course, of course. Still, happy to get good work. And happy to help!" she says, offering a bow. "If you ever have need of me I'm actually staying a short walk down the road. There's a charming little inn just that way, call for First Flowing Words, and I'll be there to serve you." she says. "Possibly, after I sober up from tonight though." she adds with a tiny exaggerated laugh.
