Shining Azurite First Flowing Words, a musican of...slightly more repute than she's previously felt was frankly, just having a nice relaxing time in a tavern. No music, at least not by her, and she was spending some of her hard earned money in the back of a market drinking hole. Nothing too exciting, but the Bowl and Barley wasn't exactly a bad place to be. At least not if you enjoy a good helping of beer, and the crush of humanity. At present, she had a simple clay cup in her hand she was sipping on, her back to the wall, staring out and just people watching in the dark and the close during a fairly busy time of night.
Azure Blue Taking the time to relax, the lovely craftsman entered and approached the bar with a small pouch. He would approach the bartender and say, "Excuse me, three pints of your finest beer, and three of your most affordable, if you'd be so kind." He says, dropping the pouch into the barmans hand and just waiting as he listens carefully and waits for whatever may come.

He turns his gaze towards First Flowing Words, and approaches with a warm smile, "I hope you don't mind some company?"

Shining Azurite First takes a small look up, and then offers a small wave. "Of course." she says with a smile. "I always enjoy company. Though I'm not sure if we've had the pleasure. I'm First Flowing Words. Traveling musician. And you might be? My deep drinking new friend?" she says, her eyes opening as she looks at all three pints of beer. " she adds, as they sit together here within a market tavern, both of them sipping deep into their mugs in the darkening evening.
Azure Blue Azure would relax and say "Certainly, I'm Azure Blue, a Pleasure to be Sure. Travelling craftsman and explorer. I'm actually researching new brews, actually, and bears are easy to get right."
Shining Azurite "Ah. A craftsman of the people, I see." she says, letting out a little chuckle. "Still, there's a place for most things. I doubt, despite the good cheer of our proprieter, that this is the best place for you. The company is great. The beer however is..." she frowns. "An example of what not to do."
Azure Blue "Oh how wonderful. I'm sure it's fine." He says taking a sip, only to be pracically revolvted by the affordable beers. It seems his time in the sun of resources have damaged his ability to consume terrible brews
Shining Azurite First Flowing Words grins. "You get used to it. Eventually. I think it's something to do with your tongue committing suicide." she says. "Still, so you're a wandering craftsmen. I admit I don't think I've met too many of those of note. Wandering traders who do some repair, sure. But aren't you supposed to have a workshop or the like?"
Ignis "There are certainly worse places one can be in terms of testing and sampling the drinks of the region...but...I fear that you may be missing out on the more esoteric options that Great Forks has to offer. AT the least, I hope this won't sully your opinion of offerings here in this town where such matters are concerned."

The new speakers voice is a cheerful tenor that falls over the drinking duo and upon looking they would see the speaker, a tall blond man with stubble across his smiling face, dressed in dark leathers with hints of gold here and there, a long coat and a peace bonded blade of some make sheathed upon his back.

A large drinking mug is in one hand as he leans over the table and he sets it down and and slides it forward onto the table as if adding it to the mix of drinks.

"I understand that this brew here was an attempt at mimicing some of the embodied fire that brewmasters of Chiaroscuro have mastered the ability to conjure in their drinks. It has a kick. I'll give it that."

He offers both Azure and First Flowing Words an easy smile, "My apologies for interrupting but I simply couldn't resist..."

Shining Azurite First Flowing Words grins at the comment and takes a look at her new drinking companion. "Of course. As far as I am concerned at least. The more the merrier!" she says, offering her mug up for toasting as she adjusts and shifts herself. She was dressed in a simple dress and peasent sandles, not much to look at, save for her insturment, a finely made Sanxian which was kept comfortably on her lap, stowed here while she sips at her drink. Still, she could not help but show off a posture that indicated..training, or at least focus. "First Flowing Words. What's the name of my more...stalwart drinking companion. Here in the middle of my ordeal." she grins. "Let us prove we are stronger than this tavern."
Ignis "Ignis." responds the blodn man simply and easily as he claims a seat with the other two as well. He lifts his drink up and offers a grin, "I'm trying to work my tolerance to spice and food with a kick up a touch after embaressing myself when I tried some cuisine suggested by a friend fo mine from the south. I suppose this is as good a method as any."

With that, he brings his mug up to his mouth..then winces and pulls it away, nose wrinkling and brow furrow.

"Whoa. Okay."

Then he tries again..pauses...and then takes a second to really steel himself. "Alright then. Here we go..."

Shining Azurite First Flowing Words smiles at this and laughs. "I suppose it can't hurt. Personally I try to keep away from food that's too spicy. I can't risk my throat!" she says with a grin. "So no matter how weak your tastes are, I can confidently say mine is weaker." she laughs a bit more, and then takes a breath, and manages to take a long swig, getting half of the cup she's sipping from down before she makes a truely awful wretching sound.
Ignis She gets further into it then Ignis does. After about the halfway point he simply begins wheezing and coughing, sputtering into his drink and then setting it down while starting to noisly pound a fist against his chest. His eyes tear up, watering quite visibly and his flesh tone reddens as if he was about to begin spurting out steam from his ears nad nostrils any second now.

THe mug is pushed away from him quite definitively.

"Well...that takes care of that. I don't know what --that- was but I don't think it was a success, that's for certain..."

Shining Azurite There's a strong chuckle at that. "I guess my tastes are just cheaper." she says grinning wide. "But someday I'm sure you'll remove all bad beer from the world." she says with a little laugh, slurring her words, just a bit as she does so. "So...where are you from anyway?" she asks. "Me, I'm from the Isle. But seems like I see not too many people like that around here. And those from elsewhere have the best stories."
Ignis "I'm not sure that this one is a matter of taste but rather common sense. I should have known better then to simply try oen of the new house specialities on account of what he claimed he was trying to accomplish." responds Ignis with a smirk. He shakes his head and then turns to study Flowing Words more carefully at the description of her place of origin.

"The Isle? Well...this is quite the journey for you isn't it? I'm not surprised you haven't seen many from The Isle here. I'd imagine that Great Forks isn't exactly what I would call a destination for most there considering its reputation but, that being said, I do know some who come from Greyfalls quite often. As to me..?"

Ignis shrugs lightly and leans back, "...These days I do call Great Forks my home but some years ago I spent considerable time in Nexus."

Shining Azurite There's a nod from her. "Indeed indeed. However when one is running away from home, sometimes you run far far away from home. And so far I'm enjoying it. Even if it's a little bit terrifying seeing all the..." she looks around and thinks. "Different Chosen" she says. "That part is rather terrifying, but it wasn't...not terrifying at home." she adds with a firm nod. "So I'm learning to smile despite it all. And I've met lots of nice people who seem to like nice music!"
Ignis "Different chosen? Do you mean those seeking the exigence or possessing it?"

Ignis considers that for a moment before saying, "I suppose it can be off putting to encounter them here if you're from the isle. If I"m not mistaken, the Immaculate Texts teach that they are...still unclean and in need of purification or something to that effect? Forgive me if I'm wrong. However there are Dragonblooded around as well and likely in larger number then the Exigents. In truth, what you could be seeing quite a bit in unusual manners are the gods themselves. They compete for attention after all. Miracles are abundant as are festivals, parades, and more besides."

Ignis chuckles abit and then inclines his head into a slight shrug as he looks over the bar, "Great Forks isn't called Decadence for no reason..."

Shining Azurite First flowing words nods at this. "Yes those are the ones I was thinking of it..." she grins. "Honestly, something like that. In truth, in the Realm you're generally supposed to run away if you see anyone like that at all." she says, giving a shrug. "Or, placate them and run...or...die nobly. It's different if you have power of course. But well, I wouldn't know anything about that, unless it was in a past life."

"And yes the gods are also something I'm not used to seeing. That's...even more hard to get used to. But...I try to keep out of thier way and..." she grins. "The God Chosen will buy a song, the gods, generally not so much, so I only need to concern myself with one of those."

Ignis "To be fair, I don't believe the city is simply swarming with Exigents so if you have some claiming to be one it may simply be a glaim or someone wishing to find the favor of the god they wish to represent and earn the touch of the exigence." advises Ignis, "Otherwise they are rather like..well...you and I, beyond whatever mysterious purpose or whim they may be serving. The Three invite this sort of wildness but they do so with the city and its territories well under control so you have nothing to fear."

Ignis offers a slight smile, "I suppose even anathema might show themselves from time to time. It's happened... But the city is still standing so surely that counts for something."

Shining Azurite There's a nod. "I suppose that makes enough." she says. "And yes, I do so like it when the city still stands. And my favorite quality in my friends is also liking it when we can all be alive!" she adds, with another slgihtly off kilter laugh. But well. I'm glad I was able to meet a friend, here...in hell." she says, grinning...before sighing. "On which note. I'm going to buy another bowl of punishment. I'll get you one too, so you should finish yours quickly!"
Ignis "I'll pass." says Ignis with a slight smirk, "I think that was one sip too many and so my sense of taste has been burnt away. I'll gladly keep the both of you company for awhile longer yet. I"ve things to attend to but..being my own boss I suppose I have the luxury of adjusting my own sense of timing."

He grins and then adds, "As to the city standing, Great Forks has been threatened by much but most of these threats seem to come from outside and not within. Do not fear the Exigents or the gods or rumor of anathema. I have a hunch...you'll be just fine."

Shining Azurite She comes back with another drink, and looks down at it. "I....suppose that makes sense. I admit. I suspect I'm going to be regretting this one quite a bit." she says, before taking a long sip." before she grins. "I'm guessing that's coming from personal experince." she adds. "You surely seem to know your way around here at least. Which is something I appriciate." she says. "Mostly, I'm just trying to avoid causing offense. But you're right. It's gotten easier and easier." she says. Even as the potency of her next beer is bringing her to a rather tipsy state indeed.
Ignis "I can understand that. It's a whole new experience for you. Great Forks is unique among the great cities of the east but I have a feeling that you've this under control more then you may realize. fter all...we're nowhere near Th REalm so you've made it quite far for someone who was simply running away..."

Ignis gives her a nod finally and then glances past her to see something that catches his eye.

"Pardon me a moment." he says while standing and claiming his unfinished drink. He then slips off into the crowd to attend to whatever matter seems to have gained his attention.

Shining Azurite First Flowing Words smiles as she nods. "If you say so. Still. Hopefully, I will find more friends and good company. And as for you, I hope you have a good night." she says, mask falling slightly as she watches him leave, staring at him for a time, before returning to her cups, and slipping, eventually, off for a quiet night and a good sleep.
