Fudou the Mountain Somewhere in The Hundred Kingdoms, between the Duchy of Steel Wind and the plains of The Sun Kingdom, terror has been gripping the communities along these borders and roads. The earth shook, crops were ravaged, defenders slain and communities emptied as a beast of the underworld had wandered in by pure chance from a shadowland and had yet to be forced away with messages sent to the lords of Greyfalls going either unheeded or simply slow to be responded to. The Princes of the Earth have their own problems after all.

Simple chance and circumstance brought another 'monster' through this area, en route from one eventful happening to another only to be distrtacted by rumor and word of whatever creature it was that was keeping these people gripped in fear. So he thought to investigate and in his searching came across the monster near the settlement of Springwell...or so the stories say.

Now that small town shakes, shudders and quakes violently as the roar of whatever contest that is occuring echoes down to them from the woods and roads nearby. Silver light flashes and plumes of dust and debris explode upwards, rapidly raining down upon the roads below. The mortals cower in their homes or watch, entranced from a distance... but the landscape shrouds much of what is happening from their vantage point and their are unwilling to venture in too close else they get caught up in the ongoing tumult.

Rishi If an outsider could see through the smoke and haze of the fight, they would see a massive monster. A Giant bipedal reptilian creature, taller than the tallest trees, teeth and claws like swords, nigh immune to damage, something that would be impossible for most people to imagine fighting. Nor would one imagine that such a moonster could die.
Yet... this one has. It's flesh is rotten, muscles sloughing off, hide torn, the smell! The coal black, shiny bones of a Bonesider poke through decaying, diseased flesh. Who could imagine fighting such a dangerous thing!?!
Fudou the Mountain Trees sunder like matchsticks, boulders are churned and shorn upwards and the landscape explodes violently as The Mountain erupts from the woodlands to land with a violent canyon sundering impact with his two feet against the battered landscape.

He is immense. A behemoth the size of a fortress wall with muscles that grind and bulge with temple support crushing force as he looms up over the landscape and straightens up to his full height in a size of comparison to the great beasts. His enormous horns curl up from his body, expanding his immensity even more as he looks on towards the incoming monster and after squaring nad rolling his shoulders...he begins a steady earth shaking, sundering approach towards the monster with fists the size of small shacks balling up and producing a sound like sequioas cracking as his knuckles tense and crack.

It's quite the different look from what any have seen of the so called Yennin-Exigent in Great Forks. For one he dwarfs even those proportions by a magnitude of a citadel compared against a small building. Then there are his hybrid features on full display.

And his added brutality. Unrestrained unlike in the city of Great Forks, the colossal lunar suddenly lunges - kicking up a huge pile of rocks and debris as he launches his body like a meteor at the zombie titan. He draws one fist back and then brings it forward and around, streaming silver with its swing as his physique inflates even larger before seeking to land the blow.

Rishi The Giant Bonesider Monster stumbles back under the onslaught, flesh ripped and torn under the strike, to reveal yet more of the blackened bones.
Shining Azurite It was at this point that Shining (still, usefully in the guise of First Flowing Words) made her way into this scene. She was, in truth, just trying to travel back to Great Forks, when she came upon an old friend dealing with...this nonsense. Two giant monsters, both equally terrifying, facing each other down, and her finding herself directly thrust by a curve in the path of dealing with both of them.

She is earnestly, awed by all of this, and concerned. And considers fleeing. But, instead and for now hesistates, planning on taking data, on watching the twin behemoths fight, and on killing the winner. Still, just in case, she adjusts her stance, and prepares herself.

Rishi With a mighty "SKREEEONK!" the reptillian monstrosity charges forwards, trying to bite the opposing titan with it's coal black teeth and breath that stinks of the void.
Fudou the Mountain The behemoth (the good looking one!) is unaware of the observer, naturally, as his attention is focused on the other titan present. Steam billows from his oxen nostrils as he thunders forward with steady inexorable steps after the tumbling body of the other titan. His muscles continue inflating, grinding upwards with powr as their sinew balloons and his garments strain under the pressure of his body. Despite his impsoing look, however, worry crinkles his brow. Not worry for him but for the locale. He's recognized this beast for what it is and knows that this is no trivial matter. There must be a swift resolution or far more then he will suffer the consequences.

There is a loud *TWHOOOM* as he takes a lunging step forward, cracking the earth under his gargantuan weight. His fist bears down thunderously and then lunges upwards for a decisive critical strike. His torso seems to surge ever larger as he moves, casting shadow over the landscape and breaking trees as he leans into the blow and sends his silver shrouded fist crashing for the torso of the undead monstrosity.

Rishi The Reptillians monster wails as it's launched into the air and them pummled back to earth, black bones cracking and breaking under the assault, flesh sloughing off, until what gets up is just a skeleton, ribcage broken, legs cracked, but still moving under the malevolent power
Shining Azurite It is at this point that Shining...considers her life choices. Yet. That monster is still alive. Which means she has a chance. A foolish chance...but. Perhaps doing something to styme the monsters of creation would be worth it. If nothing else, she can try to make this not one corpse, but two, and hope, desperatly that they kill each other. It is with this foolish ambition that leads her to creep towards Fudou, towards this second monster, and bring her powers to bear. The strike looks weak, almost comical, but the forms used ensure that the swipe of nails can channel the strength of the progenetor, and the places where Shining is driving would, on a human at least, work to stagger the foe. Here she has to work considerably harder, and she brings much of her essence to bear.
Fudou the Mountain Truly a devestating destructive strike worthy of shattering fortresses and toppling mountains!

No, not the one that sent the zombie tyrant lizard hurtling into the sky and then back down again to sunder the landscape when the giant lunar leapt after it and brought it back down in a tremendous slam.

The brave strike that lands against his flank after the dust clears, from the small figure daring to brave the roar of his anima banner and the surging of silver around him.

The Mountain turns, bearing his molten silver eyes down upon the small figure. His eyes widen slightly and his mouth opens up a touch in shock and confusion before he finally thunders, "What're you -DOING-!? Get back!!"

His voice booms and rumbles with great volume and force. So deep it's nearly unintelliigible as it rolls out the impossible immensity of his torso... Yet there is a familiarity therein. A modulated version of a voice that was already deep enough to rattle windows and shake bodies and tables.

Rishi The undead monster, The Black Bone Terror, knows only destruction. As such, it's massive head comes in to try to bite the other titan while it is distracted! But the weakened bones of it's legs cannot support such a quick strike and it is all too easy for the other behemoth to evade.
Shining Azurite First Flowing Words is...well, she's stunned. She was sure she could do something, but it appears she cannot. So instead, she attempts to put herself into a defensive stance...behind the body of the voice she strongly recognizes now.
Fudou the Mountain Despite this confusion, they seem to still have the upper hand on the creature itself. The Mountain spins his attention back towards the fallen zombie and quickly steps forward towards it. The presence of this brave but foolish interloper has caused him to re-evaluate his strategy. He -could- simply attempt to wait matters out and allow her to be in the danger she's placed herself in but his own sense of pride and noblity won't stand for it. Whereas he -almost- one shotted the beast before.....now he truly -most- put an end to it before he's fully vulnerable and if this one is willing to endanger herself no doubt others may be near by as well.

"Don't be a fool!" he admonishes the woman, "Stay back!"

And with that he lunges forward again, leaping upwards in a high vaulting surge that takes him up over the very tree tops and hten back down again with both of his fists held high.

They come plunging down violently towards the beast in a sudden gambit , trying to drive it violently into the ground with a devestating earthquake rendering piledrive like assault.

Rishi The Black Bone Terror splinters under Fudou's assault, the great onyx skull flying apart, as other bones drop to the ground, lifeless and inert. The assault has been stopped...but what of the lingering threat of the contagion posed by the unliving carcass?
Shining Azurite At this point Shining was considering her options. It was however too late to easily slip away. So she stood their nervously, hands up. "I am starting to think that tournament was rigged" she says managing to hide herself behind fake laughter and a nervous smile. "But seriously while I am grateful I am very curious. What are you. Seriously and really." she gives him a firm, calculating gaze.
Fudou the Mountain It seems the jig is up. He's going to have to really do something about that voice of his. Not that he really cares, in the long run...but...

"You strike me and then you want to ask me questions, luv? What were you hoping to accomplish? Any 'mortal' would have just run in terror at the sight of our contest but you...you ran up to me and punched me! Do you take me for a fool? What are -you-?"

His echoing voice rumbles through the area as he peers down at her, still not dismissing his gargantuan size just yet as that corpse yet remains.

He does turn his attention to the destroyed beast and then says, "This thing escaped from a nearby shadowland and has been rampaging.. But it leaves disease in its wake. It's infected with something that could cause a devestating plague. We should burn it but I have no means to make fire..."

Shining Azurite "You'd be surprised what mortals can do." she says but then she nods "But yes. I admit I likewise cannot make fire. Where is a prince of the Fire Dragon when you need one? " she thinks for a moment "Can you perhaps make a hole and shove it in at least? That way we can keep it contained and...I don't know. Go hire a village or something to deal with your noble heroism." there's..actually some earnestness in the second part.

"And yes, as for the second part, I was trying to slay a monster I saw. How could I have known it was my friend? My assumption was...two rampaging monsters." she considers, and hesitates. "And I had hoped, as someone with newly granted power, that I could possibly die, or maybe even win, by playing them against each other."

Fudou the Mountain At first the titan looked annoyed but as she continued his annoyance lessens and he finally looks away and frowns, hands on his waists. WIth that, he dismisses the magicks sustaining his gargantuan form and he begins diminishing in size until he's...well he's still gargantuan but now she's not needing to shout up at a fortress sized behemoth.

"Newly granted power?" he asks, pressing on that point abit more. "..That explains your willingness...maybe.. But you were out of your depth. IF I was anyone else you could be dead. You didn't know it was me until I spoke..."

HIs voice is less modulated to be even deeper now that he's back to a scale she's more familiar with but he's still very much a hybrid behemoth. The horns, the massive yeddim fur patch on his chest, the tattoos and the more bovine like elements of his bearded face are clear along with his toughened hide and swirling tattoos.

"Burying it won't help. We should burn it." he says simply "I can't enter the village without scaring them. You should go do it. If we bury it the sickness will just spread to the land or animals that may come across it and spread it taht way. We can take no chances. I know what it carries."

Shining Azurite There's a small, but firm nod at that. "That makes enough sense." she says. "I'll go to the next village and fetch...a party. Do you need...a head start? Or do you mean to hide somewhere until they are done?" she says, "Either way, I'll look for you after it's taken care of." she says. She then takes a moment, and takes off, fleeing down the road, where soon she will be in touch with a village headman, and begging him for help in burning a monster. Some coins exchanged as she explains the sight she saw, and the rot she noticed.

And when it is done, she does chance a moment, standing out on the road, well away from the smoke, looking to see if her friend is still about, or if she now has many more questions to ask.

Fudou the Mountain Indeed they are willing for they were at risk of the creature before the heroic titan stepped in and though they aren't sure of what intervened on their behalf....they at least know the battle is over. By the time she returns with them, the area is no longer awash in a silver glow that could have been seen from a distance away. But the giant is nowhere to be seen.

As she searches for him, she may hear what sounds like a 'Psst!' sound as if someone i trying to get her attention. IF she looks, she sees a large hawk sitting in a tree over looking the area where the bonfire is. It inclines its head at her, clearly focusing its attention on her...and then takes wing to move further into the forest away from the bonfire. Landing on another tree to look her way expectantly if she doesn't follow immediately.

Shining Azurite It does not take her very long to figure out exactly what's going on. Though her eyebrows raise a little to notice the hawk. She doesn't dawdle however, and soon does follow along with him, moving quickly to try and track him, adjusting her clothing and taking a long, slow breath, Clearly still a little bit on edge herself. Still, she steps into the deeper forest...though there is considerable rustling as she does so, stealth is not one of her strong suits.
Fudou the Mountain When she enters a clearing she finds Fudou's more familiar form sitting atop a fallen tree, redressing himself with a large green long coat and a wide brim hat. The hawk is nowhere to be seen though, perhaps, as his tattoos are still visible, it's not hard to put two and two together.

"There you are." he rumbles finally, "I can't help but continue to emphasize how dumb it was for you to run into a fight between two giants and try punching one. So what sort of new power have you come into?"

Shining Azurite There's a smile at this. "I um... I'm not really sure to be honest. I... I was working hard, playing my music and I fell into a sleep that night. And when I woke up I was...crackling with a power who's nature I know not. From there, I...I took lessons, found a teacher who would teach me the rudiements and...and... And that's how I ended up how you met me. I realize it was foolhardy, but it was important. I thought it was important at the time at least." She leans against a tree, watching Fudou carefully.
Fudou the Mountain "Yet you exhibited no signs of essence use that I could see. No ...anima.. So if you were trying to be subtle you truly just put yourself into more danger there..."

Fudou runs a massive finger along his bearded jaw line and then seems to be...well...not satisfied but he seems to believe her that -something- has happened even if he can't identify what. In that much she is likely telling the truth.

"Well...I suppose you've got questions for me.."

Shining Azurite "I...I didn't have much I could use! I am great at talking, and acceptable at playing music! I'm not a combatient other than the small lessons I have learned! I'm not strong, but...but... I had hoped I could make a difference!" she says. "But it appears my forms couldn't even get me that far." she looks ruefully downwards, kicking a rock. "I'm...sorry though, for what it's worth. I'm sorry I attacked you."
Fudou the Mountain "I find it strange you went for -me- when there was a monstrous creature of -death- trying to kill me also right there but perhaps that's for the best since you would have just been in the line of fire.."

He doesn't seem inclined to let her off that easy on this front. SHe's essentially telling him that as a non combatant she attempted to intervene in a fight between two giants that entire armed divisions would have been loathe to face based on appearences alone.

But he ultimately sighs and then says, "So what questions do you have for me then? Nothing?"

Shining Azurite There's a small nod at this point. "You seemed to be less hurt. I was hoping I could put you in a position where both you and it would die. But I do have questions. But I figured you would have some of your own. Still. What are you, truely? I don't think you were being honest about what you were capable of. And I don't think I know exactly what you are. So, what can you tell me about yourself? You seem to be an expert at being...whatever sort of monster you are."
Fudou the Mountain "I'm no monster." says Fudou simply, "..and I wasn't being dishonest before. I am a Yennin from Volivat. I was born as a champion and developed great power and strength as one but later....I did become chosen..."

He looks at her, thoughtfully and then says, "Certainly in your travels you've heard of the Chosen of Luna, especially here in the East? I am a Lunar Exalted. The Dragonblood consider me an anathema but that is their ignorance and corrupt ways."

He grins slowly, "You know, of course, you can tell no one this. You put yourself in great danger but you're in even more so now by me having to reveal this to you...and not necessarily just from me. But I use an identity in Great Forks for good reason... Reasons I can't share with you but keept his in mind. The more questions you ask the more 'deep' you become.. And I may only answer a few."

Shining Azurite "I needed to hear it from your mouth. To be honest. I still after all this doubted they truely exist. Some days I doubt I exist. But yes, have no fear. Your secret is safe with me. Besides which, who would believe me against a hero of Great Forks?" she takes a long, deep breath. "My truth is, I don't know nearly enough to survive. I barely know anything about anything. I'm still amazed when I think about what I am every single day, and I don't even -know- what I am. Much less something from the history of the world that can go against a Wyld Hunt. I'm horrified by the thought that they could come for me if I slip, even once!"
Fudou the Mountain "Is that so.."

Fudou inclines his head, looking at her with narrowed eyes as she speaks. There is silence in the glade as he slowly smiles and then finally...he begins to grin.

"I am not newly exalted. I'm older then many think I am because..I let them think so.." No sense in naming names here.

"But I have met many on my journeys. All sorts of Exalted. I could probably tell you who and what you are.."

His grin becoms more mercurial now. An odd trickster like gaze in his eyes despite the brutish immensity of his physique as both sides of the coin that is Fudou the Mountain is at work. "You need only show me your caste mark.... It's a simple ask to cause it shine, no? Look.."

His flickers to life. The full moon of Luna upon his brow. "Surely your teacher told you this and even if he didn't...you should just 'know'."

Shining Azurite Shining sighs. But smirks a bit. "Fine." she says. "I was desperatly hoping you would go along with it." she adds. A look as she stares at him. And then a set of glowing blue eyes are shown to him. As she gives up. "In truth, oh Lunar. I had thought to help and deal with monsters. "It seems if I make it back I'll need more traning."
Fudou the Mountain Now it's his turn to try and bluff as he -- has no idea what that caste mark is.

But she's got one. Right.

But it also seems she was attempting to bluff him regardless so he simply adds, "So you are not so newly exalted after all, I would guess. No there is no way I would go completely along with it unless you were to tell me you were looking for death...but...perhaps you simply under estimated my durability. You wouldn't have been the first to."

He gestures absently, relaxing abit more, "Well then, so we've shared secrets then. I think we're even. I won't tell if you won't tell." he grins slowly, "Fair enough?"

Shining Azurite Shining blinks a little and notices how..calm he is. She winces a little bit. But nods. "I think we have an agreement. I won't breathe a word to anyone in Great Forks about you. If you promise the same." She smiles a little bit. "Besides which, I don't actually want bad things for you. After all, I'd rather have you around than others." she smiles a little bit and considers, after a long, long time. " And while this could have gone better, I will tell you this. I am as good a fighter as you saw. But I am excellent at talking people down. So if you ever find yourself in a situation where you need help with that, I'm here."
Fudou the Mountain Indeed he is calm. Meaning he doesn't recognize what she is, or he knows what she is and is confident in his viewpoints about it or how to handle it. Tricky, tricky tricky.

He doesn't know what she is.

"I tell you what.." he rumbles, "Let's keept his our secret for now and see how things are looking after the tournament is over. I'm not even sure I will participate in teh final matches...." He stops just short of saying why and then adds, "But I may change my mind." he grins, "As I said, I have reasons for pretending to be a Yennin turned Exigent. Well..I'm not pretending to be Yennin. I am. But I digress."

He inclines his head, "After that, we can reconvene and discuss matters further. How's that sound?"

Shining Azurite Shining Azurite considers, and takes a long, slow, careful look at him. She nods. "It makes sense to me. And I'll keep your secret, like I said. I do hope you compete though." she nods. "I was honestly impressed by you. Still am." she says, smiling over to him.

"I'm still the same as I ever was though. Feel free to look me up when you wanna have a long talk about the new status quo." she adds. Still at this point she ambles up and walks off, making her way to Great forks. Eventually, she pulls out her insturment, and starts to play, working through a way to covertly produce a song about these happenings. About secrets, and two mountians fighting.
