Nine Roads Alani Quick as Mercury Herself, Alani's only in her stance for a brief moment after landing before springing up and forward in an absurdly acrobatic motion, really rather higher and farther than any normal person, even one as lithe and athletic as her, should be able to do. She does a half twist during her forward spin, clearly trying to catch the ghost's head between her thighs. No doubt she planned on doing some kind of leg lock shenanigans, but unfortunately the ghost deflects her assault with one of those massive blades, enough to bounce her past the ghost's head.

Alani lands safely on the other side, looking a bit miffed, but still game for a fight.

Serene Herald The rather battered scholar lifts his sword and aims for the ghost. The long, balanced blade has a preternatural gleam blending violet and steel together. And just after Alani makes her attack, there is the slightest gap between the blades, and then a sudden lunge! Starmetal, fortified with magic, cutting into spirits material or no, pierces the Hungry Ghost's Essence, before Question returns to his stance, being on huard, eyes focused on the foe. "The more you resist, the moreyour inevitable doom approaches," he intones.
Rishi The Pyreflame Warrior's giant swords nearly slice through Alani as she tries to get the ghost in a lock, but Alani slides through the narrow gap between the two blades and out the other side, unfortunately ending up behind the ghost. The ghost's helmet armor makes crackling noises as the head swivels around t look at Alani "Oooh! Gooood~ Try!~"
While it's distracted, Question's lunge is able to avoid the giant sword seeking the destined gap in her armor to cut into the ichor beneath! As he returns to his stance, the rent in her armor leaks sickly green fire and a substance that looks like white ink.

The Warrior Ghost's head rotates back around, rolling on her shoulders, "Oooohhhhh, yessssss! Yassss! Give me your alllll!~"
Misa As the other exalts in the room flip about and cut into the ghost and the like, Misa... goes more still, for the moment.

That golden blade slides into the open space in her right hand, looking as though it's holding a scabbard... which it is, steadily, as violet sunlight and pink flame form a sheath for this essence-blade. She lowers her stance, head turning to the floor with her eyes closed- going quite still for a moment as the sunflame intensifies and swirls about the sheathed blade.

The room is flooded with that same gold-and-violet sunlight, the mark on her brow blazing all the brighter as... pink leaves and petals seem to begin drifting gently from above, illusory blossoms of cherry trees and similar formed of her own spirit.

Then, in an instant, she flashes forward, almost seeming to vanish from sight as she blurs past the sarcophagus to dash for the newly awoken ghost. In as little as an eyeblink, her blade is drawn again, held out to the side as if having just struck. In the next instant, the boom of released wind pressure from her sheer speed rolls back over the battle, and the rain of drifting blossoms become a roiling, whirling storm as each and every one is split cleanly in twain- much like Misa's attempted to do to the apparent predecessor to her spark of power.

Rishi The Pyreflame Warrior cocked her helmet as Misa's anima went to full bloom, her slit mouth only getting wider and wider. "Yes! You! I can ~feeeeel you!~ You're the one I've been ~waiting forrrr~! This will be ~soooooo f-"
The ghost stops speaking as her torso suddenly pivots oddly and falls apart, the ichor inside staining the grating white. A noise that could be a laugh or just air escaping from the body of a corpse sounds though the area, before it goes still

	 A moment of perfect stillness.

Then the red hearthstone on one of the many swords glows as sudden klaxons sound and the lava below the grating starts to bubble.
Silk Moon Lotus Silk watches Misa make a perfect strike against the spirit.
As the lava starts to bubble up she leaps into the air on a burst of wind and grabs a metal bar. She swings around it once and lands on top of it standing on one leg. "I hope this doesn't last long."
Serene Herald Question sheathes his blade quickly and shakes his head to clear it, then starts to climb up the side of one of the control machines, making his way to the top before holding on to one of the cables coming to it to balance himself. "It won't be long!
Misa In the wake of her strike, Misa straightens back up and turns around in a single motion, sword sheathing once again- and the sword and scabbard both dissipate into a gentler-seeming swirl of light and flame around her right hand and forearm, clearly still ready to be drawn but out of the way for now.

"Hm. Not ideal," she muses as the alarms sound out and the lava begins to churn.

Easily twice the speed one might expect from someone at a regular run, she crosses back to where the group dropped down to this floor, and begins picking her way up the rocky face of the cart shaft, back up to what will hopefully be a safer place.

Nine Roads Alani It's with a pair of widened eyes that Alani witnesses the ghost pierced by Perfect Question, then sliced clean in two by what might have been the most unassailably perfect sword strike she'd ever seen, with a blade made of naught but golden Essence. Honestly, that's the kind of thing that could be inspiring in the right circumstances...say, when one is actually in the process of studying Essence.

Nevertheless, the moment can't last forever. As the ghost cries out for the final time, her hearthstone ignites and all of a sudden, the lava underneath responds!

Fortunately, Alani is well suited to avoiding the danger. In fact, she's so well-suited to it that she has time to reach down and snag one of the weapons--she doesn't have time to pick and choose, just grabbing the closest one--and immediately springs skyward the same way she's done so many times before. A hand reaches out, trying to snag the dangling chain from the ceiling to ride out the bubbling, churning molten rock below.

Rishi The liquid stone below churns and bubbles, terrible smells reaching up to all of you as it rises through the grate below, consuming the ghosts, covering the weapons, eating everything. It rises and rises, heating the air above to uncomfortable levels, before the wind from the manse caverns blows the hot air away. It gets worryingly close to some of you, feeling the searing heat on your feet before it finally, finally, stops rising.
It remains churning and bubbling. Churning and bubbling.

But soon it starts to subside, eventually falling back to the level it once was at. Below, lying on the grate are numerous daiklaves, of all sizes, all glowing hot from the lava bath, but otherwise none the worse for wear.

Of the ghosts and coffin? Nothing remains.
Serene Herald Question makes his way back down to the grated floor, and half-closes his eyes. "Those blades...could arm so many people. Not sure how you could value them all. Money beyond counting. Favors from people that are worth more than a mountain of jade to begin with..." He shakes his head. "When we come back, might want to...make preparations to bring more of them back with us?" He tries to grin a bit as he looks at Misa, still wreathed in the bonfire of anima. "That was quite amazing, and it is quite the privelege to see a master of the art at work. Thank you."
Silk Moon Lotus Silk watches the lava as it receeds. Her spear vanishes from her hand in a flash a sunset. She drops to the ground once it looks safe and starts looking at the weapons on the ground. "Indeed an arsenal of blades. I think I'll takes these as my prize." She reachs down and picks up a pair of dire talons from the pile. "They feel right in my hands." After holding them for a few seconds, she places them up her sleeve and they vanish.
Misa Misa leaps back down herself, nodding slightly at the others as they prove themselves safe from having been burned and suffocated all at once.

She looks to Question as he speaks up, brow raising a little at the suggestion. "Certainly welcome to, if you are so inclined. The strike... for the circumstance, certainly a fair work, and apparently effective enough."

She glances around at the others again, nodding to each, before stepping forth through the pile of collected blades. She's quiet, eyes just flicking about as she moves for the deeper champers.

The Solar is all but entirely clear of the scattering of weapons having not laid hands on a single one, when a few points in the mess begin to stir, and sheathed, curved blades- two silver, one blue, and one red- lift from the clutter unbidden, floating across the room in gentle, gracefully curving motions... and gather in a cluster just behind the walking Dawn's back, before swiping back outward slightly in an abrupt motion not unlike testing the weight, settling into floating behind her in a neat, tidy row as she leads the way deeper inside.

Nine Roads Alani Peering this way and that, Alani hops gracefully down from her perch up high on a chain, landing with a neat three-point stance. She slowly straightens, looking down at the weapon she'd picked up earlier. It...looks like a curved, wicked-looking, but quite thoroughly mundane shortsword. She chuckles quietly and sets it down on a ledge, turning away thoughtfully as she considers.

Her Wheel is over one shoulder, and the only weapon she needs aside from her hands and feet, but perhaps something else, something more auspicious, would be a wise choice...

Silk Moon Lotus "I feel like the rest of you have shown at least a lot of your cards as it were just now and I have not." Silk's forehead bursts with golden light for a moment as a perfect golden circle appears on her brow. It emits soft purple and orange light for all to see.
She looks over at Alani and Question. "I hope that we have shown you that we are not in fact monsters and perhaps can be allowed to live our lives. Maybe even bring some order back to the world and push back the chaos."
Rishi Misa's walk takes her out of the arena and onto the lowest level of this manse. The Six Caverns down here are all blowing air, well, save for the shadowed one howling like the dead, but, between those, where the spirialing ramp starts going back up to the rest of the manse, is an Orichalcum Door, sealed with five locks.
Above it bears the unassuming plaque "WORKSHOP."

Alani, there's a glint of yellow in one of the Cavern tunnels. Looking further, you'll see nine footsteps outlined in saffron stardust leading to a wall. Close inspection of the wall reveals a small design of subtle starmetal in the shape of the sign of Mercury.
