Scarlet Onyx Sunada It is a an hour before dark in the market area. The crowds are still bustling and the merchants are still doing great business. Some of the merchants are starting to swap out their daytime goods for their evening wares.
Scarlett in her guise as Dawn Fox, a local mercenary, has arrived at the specified intersection that the messanger told her to be at and to expect to assist with a task. As usual, the messanger was light on details other than where to be and to expect another of the maiden's chosen.
She taps her foot gently waiting, leaning on her wrackstaff that passes casual inspection from most people as just an ordinary staff. Her hair has grown out to a length that allows her to tie it back in a low tail.
Vetiver Mirror In her own fate woven persona of a shiftless vagabond. Simple wrap about her torso and tattered and well-traveled pants tied with a belt of course rope. The casual way they move on the cobble even with bare feet clear she is just another street urchin. Still standing out on their profile is a par of over large expressive fox ears atop her head and matching tail behind.

"Mercenaries always have impeccable timing huh?" The signal phrase mentioned in the letter to convey who Dawn Fox was meant to meet. The vagabond smiles up to the merc, shifting the weight of her travel bag as she does. "Hope I didn't keep you waiting too long. I'm - well you can call me Vetiver since we will be working together." Offering a hand to shake.

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Dawn Fox looks at the urchin and smiles. "Nope, I have been her the proscribed amount of time. You can call me Scarlett. My mission brief was literally show up here and help you out." She looks around to see if anyone is paying them any attention then shifts the staff to her other hand and leans on it again. "This is better than my last assignment. I get to have hair."
Vetiver Mirror The smaller woman offers an earnest look of sympathy. Voice lowering to make it impossible to overhear in the crowd "Nothing so embedded. An asset from the Crimson Panoply's armory just popped up on our radar. Hasn't been checked in since the Shogonate." Ears perking at Scarlett's attention shifts tilting to catch any trouble before it finds them. "Guess they think its going to be here or be traded tonight. I hear there are lots of powerful exalts in the area that could make it unusually difficult?"
Scarlet Onyx Sunada Scarlett moderates her voice so as to not carry "Yeah, I keep hearing from a member of my circle that there are a lot of exalts in the city and not just Exigents. Do you have any other details about the item we are looking for? I know there are a few merchants here that deal in exotic wares. We should probably start with them. They setup show close to the southern district and the docks." She gesture towards a set of warehouses a few blocks over.
Vetiver Mirror Vetiver turns on a heal, casually moving the way the mercenary directed to the south. Taking the moment the think over the threat of multiple powerful exalts being in town. "Oh sure, White Jade god kicking boots -uuuh" digging into her pocket and fishing out a bit of crumpled parchment. The ink smeared leaving it mostly illegible "Skystepper something?" squinting and giving a shrug. "Big scarry boots." Confirming with a nod. "You mentioned a circle? I didn't know the area had a circle. You guys see that much trouble around here? Been here long?"
Scarlet Onyx Sunada Scarlett starts walking beside Vetiver. "White Jade boots? Those should stand out a bit I would imagine. Any guesses as to which one would most likely have them?" Scarlett looks at her companion "We were instructed to observe and determine who was behind arranging a tournement here in the city. I joined the fighting since that's my strength. We are missing a member from the house of serenity. Nine Roads seems to have more luck getting to know them than I have. I guess it's her explorer's spirit." Scarlett shrugs at that.
Vetiver Mirror "Ohya? I bet that was a pain. Not being able to flash our colors while everyone else was going ham on stage. How did that work out, you figure out who it was?" Vetiver can't help but be a bit curious. "Better luck? Like your not super close yet with the circle?" Pausing in her meandering course through the street as she spots a shop considering it a moment. The sign reads 'Abert Adderson's Antiquities and Anomalies ' "To be honest they where none specific oh who had them ? guess we peruse as we go?"
Scarlet Onyx Sunada "I taught a earth dragon a lesson in humility before I lost to a swordwoman. I'm convinced she's an exalt, I'm just unsure what kind of exalt. She was using Single Point style, not an easy style to master." Scarlett looks at the sign. "This looks promising." She reaches for the handle and opens it for Vetiver.
Vetiver Mirror An hour before dark in the market area. The crowds are still bustling and the merchants are still doing great business. Some of the merchants are starting to swap out their daytime goods for their evening wares. Abert Adderson's Antiquities and Anomalies is the kind of shop that gives a hoarders house a run for its money. Books prop up vaguely arcane brick-a-brac. Dusty weapons hang like over cluttered on the wall making a jigsaw puzzle of sharp edges.

"Promising indeed. Maybe we will be lucky and find it in one." Hoping for the best as she opens the door with a little jingle of welcome bell. "Sorry for your loss. I wonder though last time I was in Forks I met a Swords woman myself ... hrm."

Serene Herald Inside the store is a customer already. A man with severe features, rainbow-tinted eyes, and with a Pattern Spider on the ceiling just hanging there. Serene Herald looks up as the others come in, then gives a nod of greeting. "Hello," he says. "It is good to be of seeing you both again! I hope you have been having the best of times. I have had some adventure recently."

The comment of the swordswoman gets his attention. "There is a swordswoman I am of learning from the Single Point style, and teaching her the Violet Bier in return."

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Scarlett smiles at her circlemate "It is a pleasure to see you again as well. We are looking for some new boots for my young friend here. We heard there were some interesting ones to be found around here." She scans the room more carefully. A third Sidereal being in the same place they are investigating is fate if she had ever seen it. "Yes, we must be talking about the same woman. A remarkable fighter. Perhaps you could reintroduce me to her?"
Vetiver Mirror Vetiver's fox ears perk and tilt up. Not at the sound of the door bell but up at the spirit on the celling. A familiar pattern spider. Relaxing a bit Vetiver nods. "Its nice to see you as well Herald. Seems you're a step ahead of us on today's chores." Gesturing to the store of oddities. The fox eared seer has taken the seeming of a street urchin for this it seems. In rags and barefoot she looks a little out of place in the shop.

"Yep new shoes." Wiggling her road dust covered digits "Something White if we have enough Jade." As subtly as she can as she can manage. "If it's the swords woman I met last time she had a dojo in the temple district. Tried teaching me the sword and ? hehe didn't go well."

Serene Herald "Ah. I am fine with what I have. As for Misa? I certainly can re-introduce you to her. I was with her and a couple of others when we went on a strange adventure. It was...well, something to tell you all about at a later time. For now? Shoes, or materials thereof."
Scarlet Onyx Sunada Scarlett starts browsing around the shop. Nothing really drawing her attention. She continued looking around the shop for a few moments. "I'm not seeing anything that will fit what you need. my friend." She looks at the shop keep. "Do you have a sturdy pair of boots for my friend in the back? Preferably in white?" She looks at Vetiver "Are you sure about white?"
Vetiver Mirror The fox girl vagabond wonders around. Lifting books and checking under tables with a kind of half hearted curiosity. The shop keeper all the while keeping a very keen eye on the person who clearly has no money.

"It doesn't say cobbler on my sign does it?" Presumably Albert Adderson himself speaks in a voice as dusty as his trickets and as dry as his books. "I don't have any blasted shoes white or otherwise." Crossing his arms with a huff. The distraction is enough and gives Vetiver a moment to act unseen. Stepping up behind Albert and doing something with a flick of her wrist. Steels a though right out of his head. "Er ? what was it you where looking for?"

"Albert has a fine point. Not a good place for shoes." Vetiver turns away leaving a very confused shop keeper behind her. Leaning in closer to her companions she whispers "He knew a scavenger with white boots. I think I know the way. We might need to part him from them though."

Serene Herald "There are a couple of things I still need to find here. I hope to run into both of you again soon, though." Herald gives a courteous nod, before looking back to Albert.

"I am looking for armillary sphere components, if you do not have any assembled.

Scarlet Onyx Sunada "Very well, we shall head out then and check another shop." She turns crisply and heads for the door with Vetiver. Once outside Scarlett looks to Vetiver "I think I know the scavenger you are talking about. The have a small store front a few blocks over. Let's head that way. I'm feeling the need to persuade someone."
Vetiver Mirror Waving goodbye to Herald Vetiver heads out with Scarlet back into the cool night. A bit mmore speed in her pace as a proper direction is given and the mission in on in earnest. "Excellent, good to have someone who knows the area so well." Letting them take the lead as they weave between the slower moving members of the crowd. The lights of the market flickering on as light finally starts to dip below the roof line casting the roads in the different colors of the paper lamps.

A rough around the edge stall has more than a few people looking curiously into it. A man wearing a large pair of boots. White jade soles under them running it. The soles so easily seen as he kicks a man out of the area of his stall. "No loitering! Only real offers expected here bud."

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Scarlett smiles as they approach the stall and can tell the boots they seek are indeed here. She moves a few people out of her way. "Only real offers you say?" rolls her shoulders and plants her staff on the ground. "How about this for an offer. You give me the boots, and you don't have an accident on the way out of the city? Know that if you turn down my kind offer, I will rearrange your face with my staff." The growl that comes from Scarlet's throat sounds like a thunder lizard about to roar. Her eyes gleam red in the dying light.
The merchant blanches at the visage that stands before him. He hastens to take off the boots. once removed, he tells everyone "I'm closing up for the night come back another day." He grabs the other worthless things he had arrayed on the counter and quickly makes an exit.
Vetiver Mirror There is a perfect calm for a moment after Scarlett's demands. The crowd struck from watching the man calling the shots be verbally broken by the woman before them. Someone in the crowd laughs as the merchant takes off his boots. The tension released the crowd disperses along with the merchant.

Vetiver shakes her head. "Heaven preserve. I'll be out of a job if they know you can just get people to hand over their ill gotten gains like that." Giving Scarlet a playful nudge with her elbow before leaning over to grab the boots. Stuffing them into her travel bag with some difficulty. "Thanks for the help. We should hang out some time. Maybe spar?"

Scarlet Onyx Sunada Scarlett looks at her companion. "It only works on the weak willed. An exalt wouldn't have turned over the boots without a fight. I'm always interested in a good fight with someone." She chuckles at the question "I don't ever turn down a chance to spar. I should look up Misa as well. Single Point might be useful to learn."
